Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear you found everything clean, well maintained, and enjoyed the property layout.
We’d love to host you again anytime.
Love the cabin and location. The lake is a great touch and house location offers some privacy. You do not need 4wheel drive, however you do need some skill and nerve to get through the tight roads. It is also odd to have a lot of empty cabinets. Plan on doing dishes quite a bit and bring extra towels. Knowing this, we’ll probably be back.
This cabin was all that we wanted and more! Quiet and secluded! We had two 12 year olds that fished from morning till night on the beautiful lake, Blue Ridge Tubing was another highlight of our trip to Blue Ridge! The kids have already asked about next summer! Highly recommend!
The property is beautiful and the cabin is functional and we were very happy to bring our dogs. The host responded well. However the washer was broken and full of water that had been there for awhile, which had a little smell. It was very dusty. I think the cabin is dated and could use some updating - unfortunately we waited to the last minute to book for Thanksgiving and paid over 800 a night for the cabin - more our fault then theirs. We just wished the price matched the experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found the property beautiful, enjoyed the cabin’s functionality, and appreciated being able to bring your dogs, as well as our responsiveness during your stay.
We sincerely apologize for the issue with the washer during your visit. Since then, we have purchased and installed a brand-new washer to ensure this does not affect future guests. We also appreciate your note regarding dust and have reinforced our cleaning and inspection process.
The cabin is intentionally maintained as a rustic mountain retreat, and we aim to represent it accurately through our listing photos and description. Holiday periods such as Thanksgiving are in very high demand, and pricing reflects peak seasonal rates across the area. That said, we understand your perspective and value your feedback.
We would love the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future and are happy to offer a returning-guest discount should you decide to stay with us again. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss a future visit.
Thank you again for staying with us and for helping us improve.
The cabin was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing on the lake. We would definitely recommend this place and come again for another family vacation.
This was a wonderful trip for some peace and quiet time. Perfect view of water. Paths make it easy access. We loved the fire pit and kayaks! Just a really nice place!
Everything as advertised. Beautiful scenery & ideal location. Kids enjoyed fishing, swimming & kayaking. When it rained the tvs & game table came in handy. Secluded & quiet but close enough to Elljay & Blue Ridge.
We repeated our trip from last year and had just as much fun and relaxation as our first visit.
The property has an amazing secluded access to a small, peaceful lake that we loved kayaking and paddle boarding on.
The host is very responsive and checking in is a breeze. We brought all of our dogs with us and they loved the property oven more than we do!
Highly recommended cabin rental for anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay with an amazing lakefront property!
This was just what a cabin in the mountains in the summer should be Situated by a clean mountain lake with all the water toys you need to stay cool. Cabin was furnished with everything you need to enjoy your stay. As with most mountain cabins phone coverage was spotty but the wi-fi was excellent and we used wi- fi calling. Very private with nice porch and rockers for your relaxation as well as clean hot tub. Just be careful on the mountain roads as there are some rough spots but host not responsible. The county should be on top of this. We all enjoyed our stay very much.

Thank you for the great review! We’re delighted the cabin delivered the classic mountain experience — clean lake, water toys, peaceful privacy, porch rockers, and a relaxing hot tub. We’re glad the Wi-Fi worked well, as cell service can be limited in the mountains.
We also appreciate you mentioning the mountain roads — that’s helpful for future guests to know, and we agree the setting is absolutely worth it once you arrive.
We’re so glad everyone enjoyed their stay and would love to welcome you back anytime for another mountain getaway!
Stayed comfortably with my family of 5 and 2 large dogs. The pond was everyone's favorite. Kayaking and swimming or just sitting on the porch and watching the water was enjoyed by all. Cabin comfortably slept all 5 as well. Host was very accommodating and easy to work with too. Definitely can't wait to book again.
Beautiful, comfortable and well furnished cabin on a very private small but usable lake!
We have six adults that stayed very comfortably in the cabin. The lake is just steps away - there’s a small dock you can fish from - and we used our kayaks and stand up paddle boards the whole week!
Great wifi and amenities for the cabin. The bathrooms and kitchen are in great shape.
The host was very responsive to us and incredibly friendly and helpful. We’ll stay again!!
Came with our four kids and dog to just get away from life and this cabin really delivered. My kids enjoyed the lake from the moment we got to the property. It was spacious and everyone was comfortable including our Frenchie. We personally had no cell reception but I honestly see this as a plus though. Candy was a fabulous host and always took the time to answer all our questions. Definitely going back!
This cabin is so peaceful. We enjoyed just being together with family we dont see that often, and being able to watch my niece enjoy fishing (and catching them) was so fun. Also, the beds are great. My husband and I both have back issues and usually when we go on vacation both our back are hurting after the first day...but not here.
Beautiful Waterfront cabin. We love our stay. The kids enjoyed the lake and the hot tub. There’s a perfect spot for kids to walk into the water and swim, also deploy the kayaks. The pictures were spot on but it’s even more beautiful in the summertime with all the green leaves. The fire pit is in a wonderful spot. It was even sprinkling the last night and you couldn’t feel it under the trees. The internet was great and so were the smart tvs. We watched scary cabin movies at night. The only thing that may need updating soon would be the gas grill. The heat plates have seen there day. I still made it work and had great hamburgers and chicken thighs. I would definitely love to stay again.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Listing accuracy
The place is not secluded as advertised, and the outdoor dock/swing area is not maintained well. We had two dogs with us, but the place doesn’t have a hose/water connection outside to wash the dogs after playing in the lake. The cabin layout was functional; however, the microwave needs a serious upgrade (it’s the smallest ever with hardly any power). The hot tub area is a nice addition with a screen-in porch, but unfortunately, there was no hot water. Overall, we had a decent time, but the lack of working amenities and below-par maintenance on the outside makes it a bit difficult to rate the place any higher.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the lake and found the cabin layout functional, and we appreciate you noting the hot tub and screened-in porch as positive features.
We’re sorry to hear that parts of your stay did not meet expectations. We want to clarify a few points for future guests while also acknowledging where improvements are needed. There is an outdoor hose located on the property that is available for rinsing off after lake use, including for pets. Regarding seclusion, the cabin is located at the bottom of a hill, with one neighboring cabin uphill and the remaining lake cabins across the lake. Additionally, the Benton MacKaye Trail runs along the shoreline, and hikers are permitted to use it. The combination of lake access and trail proximity is a key feature that makes this area special, though we understand it may feel different than complete isolation.
We regret the inconvenience related to the hot water and outdoor maintenance during your stay. These issues are being addressed, as we want all amenities to function properly and the outdoor areas to be well maintained. We also appreciate the feedback about the microwave and will take that into consideration for future upgrades.
We value your input and would truly welcome the opportunity to provide you with a better experience. We’d be happy to offer a returning-guest discount should you choose to stay with us again, and we’d love to know what specific improvements would make a future visit a 10 out of 10 for you.
Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us continue improving for future guests.
