Tiny House in the Trees with Fire Pit/Foscoe/No damage from Helene!
The space Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four and bar-seating for two. In the living area there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi!
We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat wooded and grassy yard for exploring plus a firepit and plenty of seating (rocking chairs, swing, table and chairs). We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
Guest access You will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons, you can enjoy over an acre of our "cookie-sheet flat" land (a rarity in these mountains) with bocce ball, croquet, etc. We have a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring, too. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading, or chatting plus a firepit to warm you on chilly nights.
Other things to note * Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, and skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing, and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. Also of note, we get a good cellular signal on our property. Our property is treated but since we are in the middle of the woods there is a chance you will see a bug or two, especially during the warmer months!

Stay was great! A short stay of only one night, but would stay here again for longer periods. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was large, and the fire pit was great for relaxing.

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend visiting our daughter for Fall Break. We were able to relax, sleep in (quiet). We had everything we needed to cook. We brought our crockpot but they even had that. Water was hot, beds comfortable, and close to everywhere we had planned going.
This tiny house is in a great location to everything the high country offers and the property is a gorgeous setting for my 2 golden retrievers to run and play in the yard. We will be back!
We loved our stay in this super cozy tiny cabin! The house had all we needed and was extremely comfortable and accessible to all the local attractions! We will surely return!

Hi! I'm Shelley! I am so excited to share my Tiny Home on the River with you! I love the area and I hope you do too! I like to give my guests the privacy to enjoy their space, but feel free to reach out if you need anything! There is also a digital guidebook I will send to you that should answer all of your questions as well as provide recommendations on things to do and where to eat!
What makes this property unique
Our Tiny Home on the River retreat offers a wooded mountain experience like no other! Located at the foot of Grandfather Mountain, come escape from the stresses of everyday busyness and live your best life! There’s a great cellphone signal here but this is an opportunity to put down the phones and embrace some time with Mother Nature!
Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the winter time, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a historic log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the tiny Home. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
