This is a hostel. Don’t be fooled.
This property, managed by Seward Hospitality Group, was advertised on VRBO as a “suite” that sleeps four. We booked it because we liked the sound of a place near downtown Seward. What we found when we arrived was that this “suite” was VERY sparse. Although corrected quickly, we found no towels in the room initially and no TP, and even though there were bowls and a couple of plates, we found no cups to use with the coffee maker and no utensils to use. When I asked, SHG told me utensils were not included. Really?? How should we use their bowls and plates ??Carpet is grungy and has many stains. My wife found a straight pin or needle poking out which we removed. The shower doors were off the tracks which were detached from the rest of the frame; I fixed this in order to avoid damage to the peeling floor and baseboard. It became clear that this is actually a hostel … there are several rooms along the same hallway, and shared washroom/shower facilities as well. The men’s bathroom smelled horrible.Wireless internet is provided as indicated in the listing, but reception is very poor in the suite. The suite is located on the second floor of a restaurant owned by SHG, which also owns another restaurant up the street; we found many of the same menu items at both places and experienced poor service and unappealing food at both. Not recommended.
