Welcome to this distinctive vacation property managed locally by Island Time Hilton Head.

With beautiful craftsmanship throughout the well-appointed house. The ground level has a newly refinished pine floor and an open-plan design, with the large kitchen overlooking the cozy living room equipped with a comfortable sleeper sofa. There are lots of books to read; there is lots of seating on the sofas; a kitchen bar that seats 4 overlooks the kitchen; and the dining table seats eight. The double oven and wine fridge make this area great for entertaining.

All bedrooms have stranded bamboo floors and their own ensuites. The primary suite is located on the ground floor, with a large closet and a large bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.

Located up the stairs on a half level is the second bedroom with two twin beds, and the ensuite has a full tub and shower combo. Up the next half level are bedrooms 3 and 4, which both house king beds and have access to the balcony that overlooks the pool. There is plenty of space for a morning coffee with the high-top table and chairs, a chaise, and a sofa. The 5th bedroom is located on the same level and has 2 queen beds with plenty of space for games, making it perfect for the children to play. This ensuite has a separate tub and shower.

Watch over the family in the pool and spa from the outdoor patio or the second-floor balcony. There are many doors on the ground level to enjoy the outside, including the primary suite. A full bathroom with a shower is available from the outside entrance and the hallway for all to use.

Beautiful house, proximate to the beach. We loved every minute of our stay. Management company was very responsive and made us feel right at home. Only one minor suggestion: one bedroom on the second floor could use some updating to bring in line with the rest of the house's modern, well-cared for appeal.

Reviewer Comments: The house was overall a perfect place for our family of 9 (5 adults, 2 teens, 2 children) However, the furniture is a bit dated and in need of repair. The dryer didn't work properly. The path from the pool through the back to the adjoining beach path needs to be cut back from the overgrown shrubs requiring us to duck through.

Family vacation

The house was adequately equipped to host a large family. The beach is a short walking distance away which made it easy to come and go as everyone pleased. The house is very clean. I appreciated that the bedrooms were quiet and spaced well enough apart that you could get away as needed.

Family vacation

We loved our rental😊we would of enjoyed having beach towels provided. There were a few needed repairs such as broken towel racks, non working bathroom fan and broken dining room chairs. None of these things took away from our vacation, we had a magical time and the location was great!

Short walk to the beach and the pool was a good size. Convenient location in Sea Pines. The beach is not crowded at this location which was a plus. Would recommend.

Loved the two car garage for storing bikes and paddleboards. Easy access to beach without the "1st row" price. Nice sized pool. Island Time rental company was superbly thorough and extremely customer oriented to make our experience even better. Very minor wear and tear fixes needed - broken chair arm, kitchen drawer pulls, etc. but nothing that caused us any trouble.

Pool area was nicely shaded for a break from the heat and outdoor furniture was nice. We liked the kitchen/family room layout and the covered porch. Great laundry room.Cons: The kitchen should be better appointed -- the toasters didn't really work; the upper oven burned 2 pizzas and smoked so much we quit using it; the utensils were cheap and scattered everywhere/disorganized; the burners were inconsistent (even with gas); it wasn't stocked with a good supply of pans, platters, etc.; and the lack of any pantry or place to store dry goods was frustrating. The beach access wasn't horrible, but "2nd row" is a bit of a misnomer since you can't see the water, nor access it very directly (instead you snake through woods behind other houses to a path, where you then pass 3 houses before reaching the beach).

Nice path to beach with new boardwalk made getting to beach with 5 little ones easy. Great pool, patio, and porch! A couple of small issues were addressed immediately, however sliding doors to pool & porch didn't function properly. Management came out to take a look within minutes of our arrival, and are waiting on parts for the doors. Beds are very comfortable. Great TVs! Kitchen well stocked, but could use more glassware. Overall a great week in a great house! Our family of 13 would consider staying here again. Did the usual Sea Pines visits...Harbourtown, Greg Russell, playground, Crazy Crab, Salty Dog, bike rides, etc. Excellent carry out from Nectar & Mellow Mushroom. Thank you for everything you did for us!

Great location, not worth the $$$

We loved the location and overall the house was fine. But 2 days in we realized it wasn’t quite worth the premium we paid. There are issues with the home that were just unacceptable for a house of this price - stains on bedding, broken sliding glass door (wouldn’t slide), broken garbage can in kitchen, path to the sidewalk that was completely over grown to the point that no one could use it to get to the beach. The most significant issue was none of the above, it was a massive sewage backup that caused sewage to back up into the showers and leak through the kitchen ceiling. This was 2 days into our stay. The Property Management company has yet to return requests to settle this issue and it’s been days since we last heard from them. This was all really unfortunate and we wish it hadn’t disrupted our week. So please consider this review before making an investment with this management company or this property.

One Week Rental at Sea Pines

Reviewer Comments: Generally it was a good stay at 30 Ruddy Turnstone but there were some issues with the house that, if corrected, could have turned this into a 5-star visit. First, the shower water in the downstairs bedroom was not hot enough. I don't even like super hot water and it wasn't hot enough for me. Second, the gas grill igniter did not work. I was able to find a lighter and do it manually. But that should be fixed. Third, the downstairs family area only has seating for 5 people and there it is the only family room in the house. For a house that seats 14, I would have expected more seating in that room. We only had 4 people in the house. But with a big group, it would be a big minus. On the plus side, the location was perfect with very easy access to the beach. The pool/spa area was a hit with the two teenagers. Overall cleanliness of the house was very good and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of parking in the garage and driveway for multiple cars.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented this house every summer for about 10 years and are sad to say that it seems to be falling into disrepair. This is a beautiful home, but every year we expect that the owner will have updated little things like the utensils, pots/pans, knives, etc. and we are disappointed to find the same old worn out kitchen items year after year. It is almost impossible to cook a nice family meal here anymore. These are not expensive items to replace and are expected in a rental of this caliber. However, the most disappointing thing this year was that the pool filter was completely dysfunctional to the point that the water was murky our entire visit and the chemicals were imbalanced, leading to dry skin/hair and an overall unenjoyable experience. Needless to say, we did not utilize the pool much this year, which really put a damper on the relaxation factor of the house. To be fair the property manager was very responsive and did come out to service the pool when we called to report the issues we were having. However, they were unsuccessful and we were told that they have tried to relay to the owner that the filter probably needs to be replaced, but to no avail. Again, this is another feature you would expect to be working properly in a high end rental such as this property. We hate to complain about a house that we have enjoyed for so many years, but we have mentioned these same concerns in the past and, while most of these items are simple inexpensive things to replace/maintain, the owners choose to ignore them every year.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I rented this property previously with different owners and property managers. It has fallen somewhat from what I would term a "premium property". For example, there was mold on the front entrance stairway and in the stairway ceiling going to the garage. There was a shortage of drinking glassware, so we had to use coffee cups for drinks. The silverware was flimsy, like the kind you find at Denny's. We called to report that the outside lights at the garage needed to be replaced, but never were. (I even offered to change the bulbs if the management company dropped off the bulbs.) There wasn't enough hot water in the master shower (rain shower) on the first floor--likely a mixing valve problem, which I reported but wasn't corrected. One of the dining room chairs was broken when we arrived--also reported. And the drawers in the dresser in the MBR were not stable--they fell out easily. These are not things I expect when leasing a premium property. Having some padding for the outdoor chairs would make them much more comfortable. (BTW, the chairs pictured in the accompanying photo are no longer there.)Additionally, we were charged $456 for VayKGear, which we did not need since it was mainly my wife and I in the house. We don't need "beach gear" in Feb. Then I was charged a late fee from VayKGear because I didn't put my order in 48 hr before check-in, and a $25 delivery fee(total charges w tax $100) We didn't need or want any of the gear that we ended up paying $550 for. (In January, I asked Brenda at Island Time to delete the VayKGear charge but she said she wasn't able to.) Offering that service is fine if you are going to rent gear, but making it compulsory is a scam. Overall, we love the home and the location--that's why we came back. But it needs more attention by either the owners or the management company to make me want to return. There is a lot of competition in the higher-end rental market.
