23 Ruddy Turnstone is a beautiful home packed full of history. This five bedroom, five and half bathroom home is your luxury vacation home located 4th row ocean on a beach path just steps away from the beautiful Hilton Head Island beach. Originally built in the 18th century, this home was moved to Sea Pines in 1963. Dubbed the "Freedom House" - this architectural masterpiece is filled with character & charm. It underwent a major remodel and expansion - the original bricks, beams, doors, mantels + railings leave all of the character that makes this such an amazing home. There is exposed brick throughout and truly just beams with architectural charm & charisma.

Grill out for the family on the outdoor grill or relax in the seating area outside. The private pool and spa can be heated seasonally for an additional fee - see details in description below.

This is a dog friendly home allowing two dogs maximum. The pet fee is $250 plus tax - must reach out to us in advance to confirm your pet details.

1st Floor:

The kitchen is equipped with nice stainless steel appliances, Wolf gas range stove, full sized refrigerator (no freezer), marble countertops & more. There is also a stand-alone ice maker, wine fridge, a second oven, and 2nd full-sized refrigerator with a freezer located in a side room off the kitchen.

The living room has a 65” smart flat screen TV + access to the pool deck. There is also a den off the kitchen area with a flat screen TV. The laundry room is on this level with a washer and dryer.

Bedroom one has a queen bed, walk-in closet + 55” smart flat screen TV. The updated private bath has a shower/tub combo.

2nd Floor:

The master bedroom has a king bed + access to the private southern style porch. There is a walk-in closet + 55” smart flat screen TV. The private bath has a large, updated walk-in shower + marble countertops.

Bedroom three has a king bed + 43” smart TV. The private bath has a double vanity + walk-in shower. Bedroom four has a king bed & a twin bed with a pull out twin trundle + 43” smart flat screen TV. The private bath has a double vanity + walk-in shower.

Guest House:

Steps away from the main home, you will find the mother-in-law suite located upstairs separate from the home with a king bed + 65” smart flat screen TV. The private bath is updated with marble countertops, double vanity + large walk-in shower. Additionally, in this suite, you have a second washer & dryer, microwave, mini-fridge + coffee maker.

• Pool/Spa Info: Approximately 27' x 13'. The pool and spa can be heated seasonally for an additional fee. The spa can be heated year-round for an additional fee. The pool can only be heated for stays falling between Labor Day through Memorial Day for an additional fee. No pool heat is available during the summer months. Please email/call us at least two weeks prior to your arrival if you would like to add pool/and or spa heat + pay fee.

Really loved the ease of this location, and the beach walk was so direct. The home was very comfortable, extremely well stocked and you can tell the owners take a lot of pride in it. We'd love to return!One note is there is next to no space for pantry items which I found to be strange. There are so many things for entertaining but it takes up the entire kitchen cabinetry, and I'd have much preferred not to have our groceries taking over the countertops.

Space is perfect and the Guest House is fabulous for anyone with babies/small children. The house was equipped with pretty much anything you could possibly need and more and the pool/spa are a great size and get plenty of sun and you don't have to worry about a lot of tree debris always falling into them which is a plus. Location to the beach is great and the walk path is just outside of the gate. Will be looking to rent this one next year for sure!

The house is lovely and extremely well maintained with high end appliances, nice linens and towels, well stocked kitchen. We experienced a hurricane threat during our stay and the management company kept us informed and brought over flashlights which the house failed to have. The management company always responded promptly to all of our inquiries. The beach was a short 5 minute walk and the grounds were nicely landscaped. Our rental on Hilton Head last summer had a larger pool and backyard area but this pool was sufficient for our party of 5 adults and 2 young kids. We highly recommend this property and the management company.

Wonderful house! Terrible weather!

Loved the house for our group and we all want to return. However the recent hurricane and flooding hazards made some of us depart on Monday morning due to ages of our young children, before the storm hit full force. We had evacuated another storm previously and knew that the backlog of cars at gas stations and floods on the low country roads could endanger the children if we did not take these warnings seriously. Our second group departed Tuesday afternoon mid thunderstorms and standing water on the streets. The pool was nearing flood level. Left purchased goods behind . We notified the office of our departure and were thanked for the notice. We did as requested by lowering umbrellas. Stacking the chaises, removing pillows. Hope things returned to normal quickly. Please ask us back when the dust settles. The house was gracious, roomy for us, proximity to beach was perfect! We were exhausted from the coming and going but hope for sunny days ahead next season when we can return.

The location is perfect. My teens were able to bike to the shops and Starbucks everyday. I was initially concerned about a lack of shade in the back by the pool but there were three large umbrellas over the seating area and the pool got plenty of shade in the late afternoon. We’ve never gone back to a rental property because we like to try new places every year, but we may change our minds with this home. Would highly recommend. We left a fun puzzle for future guests to enjoy.

The Freedom House

LOVED this house!! So much character and charm. Great location and a short walk to the beach. Very clean and well kept. I've been to Hilton head 4 times and Sea Pines is my favorite place and this house is by far my favorite. Plenty of room and all the bedrooms are spacious. Kitchen is great also. I will definitely rent this house again!
