Very comfortable for a stay with the kids and grandkids. The house was cosy and felt like staying at grandma’s. Within an easy drive to beaches, Halifax, Lunenburg, and anywhere else we wanted to go. We look forward to coming back!
We were looking for a pet-friendly place not-too-far from Halifax where we could host an extended family gathering for 9 nights, and this house in Northwest Cove was perfect. While a little rustic, the house had a lot of character and was very comfortable for up to nine guests. It had a deck that overlooked the sea that we enjoyed very much. The kitchen came very well equipped with everything one could need, including a bbq, and everything worked. Sheets and plenty of towels were included and we even found a high-chair for when our granddaughter visited! Our dog loved Bayswater Beach, just a short drive up the road, where we met other local dog owners early every morning (before the lifeguards came on duty). The Hubbards Farm Market held on Saturday mornings was excellent. We were very pleased with our stay at the charming Orange House.
The property and the view are beautiful. I really appreciate older homes that are a part of the community which created them. The owners are a big part of what makes this place special. They have been a part of the community since before the orange house was built and they shared so much with us.
The host and his son are very polite very helpful
Go out of the way to help everyone
We all so happy staying at this location
Recommend to families and friends
Beautiful place to stay with a perfect view , unfortunately we had Hurricane Lee which took out the power, other than that it was a perfect holiday home.
Loved this place! Old home charm with all of the amenities. Beautiful views of St Margaret’s Bay from just about every window. Clean and neat as a pin with all of the little touches to make it feel like home. We LOVED meeting our neighbours and were made to feel like we were part of the community. Close to all the places we wanted to visit. A true Nova Scotia experience.
Hope we can return to this beautiful area again.
Was a quaint home. We had a great time in the area.
Cooked breakfast together and then spent the days out sightseeing. Was nice to come back, do laundry, get refreshed, sleep and start another day. Only downside for us was, we charge our electronics at night, the electric plugs were beautifully ornate but not conducive to plug in assortment of charging cubes and cords. Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!
Although it rained most of our stay we had a great time there , property owner was extremely easy to talk to ! Id stay again just cause the views are spectacular
There are 3 piers around for fishing. A beach where you can dive. Shopping is also very convenient, less than 10 minutes drive. The house captures the family's history and it's amazing how well it's been maintained over the years. I had a great time here with my friends. A big thank you to Ben's family.
The property was exactly as pictured and described and suited our group perfectly. It was cute and charming and located on a quiet stretch of Nova Scotia country road with a few charming restaurants and shops a short drive away. The house had everything we needed and i would recommend it to other groups for sure.

Maison decevante
