2026 - Early Spring -Buttercups and BlueBirds have arrived! Can Summer be far behind? We are getting " Our Little Cabin" ready for you! So time to start planning your stay. Here it is so quiet you can hear birds sing, deer snort and if you want, yourself think! Located in a meadow/wooded rural setting and approximately 8 miles from Philipsburg. This rustic cozy 1 room cabin is comfortably furnished for a relaxing stay. The cupola allows for stargazing from bed, an 1890's wood stove provides warmth and ambiance. The "west wing" - shower/ bathroom - has a sliding door to provide privacy from the main room. Kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, coffee maker, dishes, etc. Since your coming to this area, you likely have done some research and are aware of the rich history in mining and the fun of panning for sapphires. For us the outdoors plays a large part in our lives. In the summer, kayaking the numerous rivers and lakes, casting a fly hoping to attract a trout, hiking a trail in the Pintler Anaconda Wildernesses or Sapphire Mountains. Then there is just settling beneath a tree and reading a good book.
The cabin is reached by a private gravel road and drive. After years of vacationing in the cabin we built our home here. You likely will see us ( and our dogs Darby and Dixon) outside working on a project, low key and out of your way.

Cozy, lovely for unplugging from fast paced life! Kitchen was stocked wonderfully, and it clearly was not the hosts’ 1st rodeo. Altogether fantastic!
"Our Little Cabin" was so much fun. It is a cozy little cabin with so much personality. Our host made sure all our needs were met and exceeded. Whether you are looking for adventure or a quiet stay in the woods, this is the place for you.
Great little cabin for a long weekend. We loved the location and being able to meander around the property and check out the flora and fauna. It was very quiet, and the star gazing was amazing. Marybeth and Kent are friendly and fun. And we were welcome to bring our dog, which is a must for us. Everything was perfect! Thanks for a great stay!
Our family had a wonderful getaway at the cabin. The property is beautiful with great views and lots of birds. We especially enjoyed all the hummingbirds. The kids had a blast sleeping in the tipi. Our hosts were kind and generous, and immediately made us feel at home. We are looking forward to a future visit.
I really enjoyed my stay at this location. The cabin is fantastic, the hosts are great, and the surrounding area is gorgeous. Excellent little getaway!

Just as described, delightful cabin & setting. Some difficulty finding connecting roads in because of lack of street signs, but friendly neighbors helped.
🍀A visit of a couple days, too short….many reasons to come back, a very pleasant stay that keeps good and warm memories in our harts, thanks so much ❣️
Absolutely fantastic. I love the little cabin. Was everything I was looking for in my stay. Kent and Maribeth are the absolute best! Need to give more than 5 stars.
What a great little cabin to get away and recharge
The cabin is wonderful and in a beautiful somewhat remote setting. My cousin and I stayed for four days We are both in our 70’s and loved the simple parts of our stay The wood cook stove made the cabin cozy. Our hosts were friendly and helpful
This beautiful and charming cabin was perfect for our little getaway! Hosts were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Property is stunning and wildlife abundant! So close and convenient for many recreational opportunities. We can't wait to go back!
We loved the quiet tranquil area, the cabin was cozy, not to far from town but far enough to feel like your off the grid. It was a wonderful family getaway and we would stay here again for sure. Our hosts were wonderful and knowledgeable. Thanks for the great stay.
My partner and I had an amazing weekend at the cabin! We spent our stay exploring the property and enjoying the cozy cabin when some weather came in. This place was magical and the hosts were friendly and welcoming! We are definitely planning a return trip!
We had a great time and our hosts were very nice. They suggested places for us to visit and we’re so glad we stayed here. If you are looking for a laid back , close to nature get away, this is the perfect spot. We saw the Milky Way every night!

About the host
Hosted by Maribeth & Kent Ellis
Kent and I bought this property almost 20 years ago. We knew that some day we would make this beautiful spot our full time home. 10 years ago, we made the move. For me it was coming home- I was born/raised in Columbia Falls. Kent family also had homesteading roots in Montana, though he is a Colorado native. We have short beautiful summers when we do our best to soak in all the activities and events in we can. We love rodeos (watching!) kayaking, hiking, fishing, our dogs and working around the property. Fall is likely our favorite season, warm days and snappy evenings! Winter - a fact of life here and it is long, so best to embrace it! We dust off the snowshoes, Altai Hoks ( cross between snowshoes and XC skis) downhill skis and the snow blower! The cabin is generally not available during winter months.
Why they chose this property
