This is a pet-friendly residence within a good walk or short drive to Long Sands Beach. We had everything we needed and liked the cleanliness and amenities very much.
Set at the end of a lazy, family safe cul-de-sac minutes from “downtown” York Harbor the cottage has all the conveniences of home (TV/WiFI/Internet, W/D, microwave, full kitchen) with outdoor shower, sunny deck, grill and beach toys. Awaken to an Audubon paradise, we saw three white tail deer in the back yard.

Thank you, Tom! You were wonderful to host! We hope you'll come back next year.
It was perfect for us. My son loved playing catch in the private backyard. We saw deer and many birds back there. Enjoyed lobsters and steak on the grill one night. House is very user friendly. Host is excellent.
We just finished a four day holiday at this lovely home. This was our second year there - we came back because we know the home so well, and it’s location so close to the beach. For my wife and I and two adult children it’s perfect: clean, comfortable, well equipped kitchen for our home chefs and an unbelievable deck and backyard. I expect we’ll be going back in 2025.
It’s my secret getaway! Convenient to everything I want to do and has everything I need to be comfortable w my dog. Sarah’s place in incredibly welcoming and where I’ll be headed back to many more times provided the schedule of a tired teacher! Thank you once again for everything. I don’t want to stay anywhere else.

We are so happy to host you, Nat, and you are always welcome! We hope your schedule allows you to come back often. Thank you for the important work you do as a teacher!
Everything about this place is just lovely and fitting for the person looking to be at a home away from home. The location to the beach, the serene setting, even the friendly neighbors make this an ideal location for a getaway. It’s comfortable, clean and incredibly private. Access to great food as well as the “got to get to”destinations in the southern coast of Maine is also a plus! Communication w Sarah is always immediate and responsive as well. Thank you again for being an incredible host for our vacation.
The house has all that a family of 3 to 6 needs for a relaxing holiday. The house is clean, comfortable and well-equipped for beachgoers, back yard BBQ's and children. The locale is quiet and easy to get around via car whereas many other places near Maine's Highway 1 are in permanent traffic jam! Access to the beach on foot or by car. The owner is very well prepared and maintains excellent, clear and precise communication. Our family spent a memorable holiday and we hope to return.
The property was just as described. There’s a large backyard with a new deck. We brought our two dogs and they had the best time running around. It’s quiet because it’s at the end of a cul de sac. If there’s children in your party, they would have plenty of room to play. Inside the house, there’s plenty of space to move around in. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you need. All in all, we would stay here again!
The four of us (parents and two adult children) rendezvoused at this Lobster Cove Cottage on Thursday for a truly wonderful weekend: on the beach, exploring Kittery and Portsmouth restaurants and cooking fabulous dinners. (Thanks, Mom!) The cottage was perfect for a family, VERY comfortable, well equipped kitchen, large backyard with table and chairs on a patio (where we had breakfast and dinner) and all SPOTLESS. Sarah was attentive to our needs and questions - perfect host! Hope to be back soon.
I was the first renter to stay at this beautiful slice of heaven in York village and we could not have had a better time. The house was exactly as it was pictured it was clean it was safe it was on a beautiful dead end street that had no through traffic. It was extremely quiet and peaceful. I would definitely be coming back to this rental the host was amazing to deal with check in was easy. The backyard was big and shaded it was a great place to sit at the end of the day after being at the beach and just relax and listen to the birds it was so private and quiet. The walk to the beach is very easy we would use a wagon that was provided by our host. The walk to the village is a bit further but it's an easy walk if someone is into walking that distance. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who's interested in staying in a clean, safe, affordable cottage in the York area there is so much to see and do there I will definitely be returning.

The house itself is nice, clean, comfortable.
I can't say its within walking distance of the beach (I clocked it at 7/10 of a mile) or anything else.
Disappointing for us was a property across the street was having major work done. So there was heavy equipment and trucks and noise and tar smell. Equipment and trucks blocked access to the driveway. Very unpleasant. Presumably the construction will end someday but was in full swing while we were there (September 2023). Very disappointing.

Dear Rich,
We are very sorry you did not get to experience the peace and quiet that all of our 5 star reviewers have enjoyed. We do everything in our power to be proactive in our communications. Had we been aware the neighbors were repaving their driveway during your stay (Tues-Fri) and that it could impact your experience negatively, we absolutely would have notified you.
To your comment about the home's proximity to the beach, we do disclose in our description that it is 3/4 mile walk.
To our future guests, please know that communication is one of our strengths, as evidenced in multiple reviews. Our sincerest wish is that you get to experience all that we love so much about the property and the Cottage, as we summer there every year as well.
After learning of Rich's experience, we have communicated with the neighbors, and are pleased to share that peace and quiet has been restored with no projects anticipated in the near future.
This was a perfect home base for our weekend in York. It’s small but perfectly suitable for our family of 4 plus two dogs. A great backyard, a nice quiet street, and close to so much that York has to offer. We had a couple of “out of anyone’s control” things happen during our stay and the host was responsive and they got taken care of.
Things to know:
We did not have service at the house (Verizon.) This is the case for a lot of York. Once we were connected to the WiFi it wasn’t a problem, but when I first got to the house I couldn’t pull up the email with the check in details with the door code. So I had to drive until I got service, download the instructions, then go back to the house. So save those instructions ahead of time to save yourself the trouble :)
Dogs aren’t allowed on the furniture. Not a huge deal for us, but the kind of thing I appreciate knowing before booking. We would’ve booked anyway and would happily again, but I know that’s not true for everyone.
We’ll look for this place first for any future stays in York.
This cozy perfectly well cared for home was an ideal fit for our holiday family gathering. Fully equipped and well situated it was just right for us. Checkin procedures seamless and excellent communication with hosts made everything so great. Thank you so much. We would love to return in warm weather!
I was looking for a peaceful getaway for my birthday and I found it in this wonderful cottage. On a dead end road but just minutes away from so much to do. I spent some wonderful mornings with my coffee out in the backyard.
This was our first time to York, and this property was ideal for us and our fur baby! The cottage sits at the end of a quiet street. The instructions for entering the cottage were easy to follow. The owner, Sarah, has stocked the kitchen with utensils, cookware, paper products, and dishes all of which were adequate for our stay. The cottage was very clean and inviting. We had one issue with the kitchen faucet. We alerted Sarah, and she was on it immediately. By day’s end, a new faucet had been installed. I would recommend this property for a quiet stay, close to York and surrounding points of interest.
A well located, cozy house that was perfect for a weekend stay. Sarah was super communicative and helpful throughout our check stay. We would happily come back!
Sarah was a pleasure to rent from. The listing was spot on, she gave helpful and relevant information about the home and area, and the home had everything we needed and then some. We had a wonderful time.
Autumn in Maine is beautiful and this property was exactly what we wanted. It was cozy, simple, charming, private and ideal for a quiet weekend away. We easily walked to the beach, dined in the local seafood scene, enjoyed morning coffee on the backyard patio and cooked meals in a well stocked kitchen. Our host was very welcoming and pleasant. Perfect spot for bringing our dogs too! Definitely would go back again. Thank you!
How can I begin to express the care and hospitality Sarah and her family offered us with this absolutely lovely property. Everything at our fingertips. As a dog owner I appreciated the understanding and acceptance of bringing my two “best friends”. Communication was excellent. Attention to questions were incredibly prompt and the cottage is just a dreamy getaway - beds were comfortable
Kitchen well stocked for cooking and the location was ideal! Thank you a million times! ❤️❤️❤️

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Carrasco
I grew up in York, Maine, and the coast has always felt like home. I love being outdoors, traveling, camping with my family, and spending time by the water. We chose to buy a coastal home here so our children could experience everything that makes Maine so special—and so we could share that experience with our guests. Hosting is something I truly enjoy, and I take pride in creating a space that meets the same standards I would want for my own home or vacation, since we also spend time here ourselves. You’ll notice thoughtful, personal touches throughout the property, including local artwork and a native perennial garden that reflects the natural beauty of Maine.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood for its rare balance of coastal proximity and peaceful privacy. Being close to the ocean allows us to enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle we love, while the quiet, tucked-away setting offers a sense of calm that feels ideal for a growing family. One of our favorite spots is the back deck, where we can unwind, listen to the surroundings, and fully appreciate the tranquility of the neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
What truly sets our property apart is the level of privacy it offers—something that’s rare for coastal homes. Nestled at the end of a quiet dead-end cul-de-sac, the cottage provides a peaceful, secluded feel while still being just minutes from some of our favorite spots in York, including Wiggly Bridge, Long Sands Beach, York Harbor Beach, and The Village Scoop. It’s the best of both worlds: coastal convenience without the crowds.
