Located near both Mohican State Park and Malabar State Park, Raylin Farmhouse is a perfect getaway for family and friends. The home includes 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining areas. A wrap-around porch offers views of the serene countryside. Recent addition of a barn, offers covered area for outdoor dining, and an indoor area for games, such as ping pong, board games, cards and cornhole. After a day of hiking, boating, riding, or exploring come back for a relaxing evening around the patio fire pit. Pleasant Hill Lake park and marina are located across the road with access to horseback riding trails.

Family weekend trip

The Raylin Farmhouse is beautiful! The owners make sure everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing and fun weekend is readily available! The Osprey on the property are beautiful and so relaxing to watch! The Farmhouse is located near many Mohican attractions and one of our favorite restaurants, Wedgewing! We look forward to staying again!!

Second time staying here and will be back!

The house is always outstanding and has everything needed for a great stay. Linda has great communication and offered help during a severe storm if we needed any. Will be back!

Wonderful family getaway

We stayed in this home for New Years with all of our children and our granddaughter. There was plenty for all of us to do. Even with the freezing temperatures, the guys set the cornhole boards up under the “barn” and played for HOURS. Us girls headed to a fun day at Sunny Slope Winery (flats of wine tastings and THE BEST Reuben panini and cheesecake ever!) and then Mohican Market and Cafe in Loundonville to stock our pantry (you MUST buy any freshly baked bread they have). There were many quaint things to do in the area while the guys were hunting and then we all came back to the farmhouse to cook, eat, play games and sing karaoke. Highly recommend this rental. Host is perfect with helpfulness and communication. We are looking forward to our next stay here!!

Beautiful farmhouse retreat

We had a wonderful fall family get together at the Raylin Farmhouse. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the whole property, decorated very nicely and having the barn with darts and ping pong table, etc., was awesome especially since we did have some rain. The rain didn't stop our fires for cooking and enjoying the outdoors. Host was very responsive and the beds and pillows were very comfortable too! Highly recommend and plan on returning on the future.

I am a retired RN. I invested in this property to start my second career, as a vacation rental host. I love being able to provide a place where people can reconnect with family and friends and create special memories.

Why they chose this property

The original house was built in 1902. When the Army Corp of Engineers wanted to build Pleasant Hill Lake in the Muskingham Watershed, many houses in the town of Newville were relocated to higher ground. I was told by the previous owner that the house was moved from the flood plain twice in the 1930’s. I loved the location and the history of the house and thought it would be a great vacation rental for the Mohican Area. I renovated and remodeled the house. I added a wrap around porch, so views from all sides of the house could be enjoyed I recently added a barn, with an open side for covered outdoor dining for a large group and an indoor area, for games, such as ping ping, board games, cards, and cornhole.. The close proximity of Pleasant Hill Lake, farm ground and wooded areas lends itself to numerous wildlife. MWSD has a placed an Osprey Nest Platform directly in front of the house and at certain times, numerous Osprey can be seen soaring over the property.
