About this property
Cozy rustic cottage w/private shared beach on Newfound Lake & easy ski access
Welcome to Newfound Lake! Claire’s Cottage has been in our family for nearly 60 years, and we are the 3rd and 4th generations to call this place ours.
Enjoy the large open concept living space, with a big kitchen able to accommodate cooking family dinners. We provide a gas (propane) range, side-by-side refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, microwave, and toaster oven. The dining table seats 6, and there are 3 additional seats at the bar. Enjoy sitting in front of the working fireplace, where you can log in to any of your apps on our smart TV, watch DVDs, play board games, or enjoy reading one of our many books.
With 4 adjoining bedrooms, the cottage comfortably accommodates 6-8 people: - Summer bedroom (2 twins) & Autumn bedroom (double/full) - Spring bedroom (2 twins) & Winter bedroom (double/full)
There is a full bath. We provide all kitchen, bed, and bathroom linens, but you have to BYOBT (bring your own beach towels)!
Just across the street, not even a 5 minute walk away, is Newfound Lake. Shared among Claire’s Cottage and our neighbors, the beach provides 90' of sandy access to pristine Newfound Lake. In the summer months, you can enjoy a shallow entry into the lake for lounging, floating, playing, or just enjoying the view! Pasquaney Bay boasts the best sunsets on the lake. It is a perfect location for ice fishing and snowmobile access during the winter.
During the summer, you’re also welcome to bring your boat! Our parking area can accommodate a boat trailer, and while we do not have access to a mooring or dock, our guests can access the public boat launch at Wellington State Park, a short drive away.
If you're looking for a ski getaway, our cottage is a great home base with proximity to some of the best resorts in central New Hampshire! We are 10 minutes from Tenney Mountain (Plymouth), 25 minutes from Ragged Mountain (Danbury), and less than an hour from Waterville Valley, Cannon Mountain, Gunstock, and Loon Mountain.
During your stay, you can enjoy hanging out in our private gated yard, BBQ'ing on the provided propane grill (May-September), or exploring all of the wonders that Newfound Lake and the larger Lakes Region have to offer.
Let us know if you have any other questions. We’d be happy to host your vacation!

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The cottage was great! The owners hospitality shone through in all the details and accommodations made for their guests.
Everything you could ask for in a family mini getaway. Claire’s had plenty of family friendly needs: extra towels, ample beds, kitchen necessities, etc. Ice cream spot down the street was perfect and access to the private beach was ideal. Would absolutely stay again!

My family stayed here to attend a wedding up the road. The cottage was just right for all of us. The area is beautiful. If I'm ever looking to stay in the area again I would definately look into staying here again.

I’m sorry that the beach was not a highlight of your stay with us. We’ve had some rain recently, and unfortunately we can’t control the lake levels, which vary throughout the summer. We hope that the rest of your stay at the cottage was enjoyable and that you will consider a visit again in the future.
We had a group come for an the Swim for a Mission swim on the lake. The accommodations perfectly fit our group of friends - spacious and plenty of outdoor space. The location was ideal...we loved relaxing on the beach after the swim and floating in the shallow water. Would love to come back!

We are so happy you had a great stay - and for a wonderful cause! We look forward to hosting you again in the future.
Claudia’s Cottage was perfect for 2 families of 3 enjoying a week together in the lake. The walk to the water is easy and it is shallow for a long stretch. there is a great ice cream store up the road. We were centrally located to many great activities. Bring your own beach towels and toys, but the kitchen is fully stocked and there were so many books, games, and movies.

Very comfortable. Wish it was closer to the lake. Had to cross busy road with little children.

We’re glad you had a great stay! Thanks for your feedback. We encourage all guests to carefully review the listing and photos, and to reach out with any questions about the property or location, prior to booking.
Comfortable little house. Lots of games and DVDs for the kids. The beach was a little disappointing as there was not much area of sand to set up our chairs, the beach was pretty much under water. The lake is gorgeous and one of the cleanest I have ever seen. The town of Bristol nearby has great coffee shop and tubing down the Pemi river was a highlight of our week.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay! We hope you’ll consider staying with us again in the future, perhaps when the lake levels allow for a bit more beach. :)
My friends and I rented Claire's Cottage for my birthday weekend and it was the PERFECT house in the most PERFECT location! Quick walk to the private beach and there's even a cool ice cream shop/antique shop a quick walk away. The accommodations were perfect for our group and there's tons of vintage games, DVD's, and a Roku TV for entertainment. We're already excited to plan our next visit to Claire's!

My family and I had an amazing week at the cottage. It has everything you need and more. The kids and adults loved having game nights with the endless supply of games. The beds and furniture were all comfortable. We will definitely be going back next year!

Claires Cottage was just perfect for us. We had such a wonderful time. The host provides absolutely everything you need and she was so very easy to work with. The fenced in yard provided privacy and safety when my 6 year old granddaughter was outside and with beautiful weather, we enjoyed some great sunsets on the deck.

Claire’s cottage, though rustic, was very clean inside. Claire’s cottage worked out perfectly for us, it was in a central location for all of our events we were attending on Newfound lake Labor Day weekend. The host/property manager was extremely accommodating, quickly answered our questions and very helpful. Things were organized well and instructions were clear and easy to follow.

We’re so glad that you had an enjoyable weekend! We hope we can host you again in the future. :)
We had a great time staying in Claire’s cottage at the lake! The location was nice; just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and great hiking close by. The Newfound lake is super nice especially with young kids, since the water is warm and crystal clear. We needed some assistance on the day of arrival with the toilet, but the host was super fast in replying and came to fix the issue immediately! Overall, a great experience and a good choice for a family weekend. Would recommend for other families.

Claire’s cottage was perfect for our family to stay while we were in the area for a lacrosse tournament.
The home was cozy and clean. It was a bit dated, but that added to the ambiance. The location was great.
Access to the lake was easy. It was a small beach, as mentioned in the listing. Perfect to play with the kids and watch the sunset after a long day.

Wonderful rustic experience that took us back to childhood grandparents visits !
We loved Claire’s cottage - it is minimalist but has everything you need ! It is cozy and awesome space for a visit with family and friends. We enjoyed the backyard and near by association shared beach - new found lake is serene and just relaxing. The house is tricky to find but the instructions from the host helped ! Highlights of the trip were Wellington state park, ice cream shop near the property and wonderful lake near the house. We would love to visit Claire’s cottage again !!

Rained 5 of 7 days making shared private beach unusable.

I’m so sorry that the weather didn’t cooperate for your stay! I hope that your next visit is sunnier. :)
Amazing property with amazing hosts. Arrived at the cottage late Friday with the family. The neighborhood lost power for a few hours due to a downed transformer. There were a ton of board games and books to keep us busy in the meantime. They brought over some flashlights and checked in multiple times until the power was back up. The cottage is small but surprisingly roomy. Very vintage feeling to it. There’s a nice lake less than a minute away. I will definitely visit again.
