This newly renovated private 3 bedroom log cabin has a lovely view of Sentinel Mountain from the large back deck and north facing windows. It is completely refinished with a modern and fully-equipped kitchen, and a game room lounge... great for a family or friends traveling together! (Please note that breakfast is not included due to limited capacity at the Inn.) We offer a variety of experiences and accommodations to our guests and hope that there is something here to delight and inspire all that pass through our doors. We pride ourselves in providing a high standard of cleanliness, comfort, and care. It is our aim to give you the opportunity to disconnect from the grind of daily life, and reconnect with yourselves, your families, and the wonders of the natural world at our doorstep.
Our main Inn is a farm to table bed and breakfast where we serve hyper local dishes made with ingredients from our own back yard and our community farmers. There are six well appointed rooms with "cloud beds" to give you the rest and relaxation you so well deserve. In addition to the Inn, we have 2 new cabin rentals. Trillium Cabin is our "honeymoon" style cabin with a king bed, jacuzzi tub, and kitchenette. It's the perfect place for a retreat or romantic getaway. Sentinel Cabin is a 3 bedroom fully renovated log style cabin. It has 3 rooms with king or queen beds, a living room, full kitchen with brand new appliances, dining room, a lounge/game room, 3 bathrooms, 2 additional pull out couches, and a large deck with a grill. It's a great base camp for a family or group of friends.
As of 2018 we began offering our location as a Wedding Venue and are now offering several outdoor spaces for wedding ceremonies and celebrations. We are connected to a team of talented wedding professionals in the area and can help guide you to creating the mountain wedding of your dreams. With epic mountain views, flowering meadows, gardens and a charming farmhouse, it's a gorgeous location for your special day. In addition to weddings, we also host group retreats, reunions, full house/property rentals, workshops, and more. We have many exciting things up our sleeves that we look forward to offering in the future. In the meantime we hope we have the opportunity to host you soon!

We truly enjoyed our visit! The house was very clean & welcoming. Beautiful views and amazing memories were made with our children. The natural cleaning products & homemade shower products were also amazing! We’d love to come back again!
A picture perfect location with beautifully designed and furnished spaces that's perfect for a mountain getaway with the whole family. The trails around the property and well maintained grounds added an extra joy for the whole family to enjoy.
This cottage was a great place our group. We were there to hike the ADK High Peaks and couldn't have asked for a better location. The cottage was very clean and it had everything that we needed for the weekend. We highly recommend the cabins at Bark Eater Inn.
This cabin was the perfect rental for our stay in Keene. Plenty of space for us (4 adults, 2 kids, but would accommodate more), very comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen! Close to local XC ski centers, Whiteface, and Lake Placid. XC ski trail out the back door is a delightful bonus! We'd love to return in the future!
A little guesswork needed to actually find the property but once that was sorted out it was a very nice place. Extremely well located for activities and dining in the area. Nice kitchen that was well equipped. Comfortable beds.

Thanks for your review. The guesswork was my error. I dropped the ball on sending our pre-arrival details amidst the chaos of a new puppy! So sorry about that and glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise.

Beautiful rental, close to whiteface!!
We loved our time at this rental. Two families with four small children and we felt we had plenty of room. Game room in the basement a huge plus!

Amazing Stay!
Super clean, comfortable, and full of amenities. Meghan and Tyler were the best hosts and extremely helpful throughout my group's stay. We loved cooking in the kitchen and grilling on the porch. Definitely will be coming back for more Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain activities and even for the summer!

Thank you so much! We hope to host you again in the future.
Absolutely perfect spot for our weekend getaway with friends. The cabin was clean, had all the essentials and was incredibly spacious. The hosts were gracious and helpful. We loved the downstairs game room. Having snowshoeing trails right out the back door was so neat! We would stay there again!!

About the host
Hosted by Meghan Kirkpatrick
Your hosts at the Bark Eater are Meghan Kirkpatrick and Tyler Nichols. We have been apart of the revival of this iconic Inn since it changed ownership nearly a decade ago. After years of renovation, planning, and refinement, is was with great pride that we opened our doors in 2016. We took over the business in 2018 and began leasing the from the owners. We are so grateful for this incredible opportunity and have many visions we hope to bring forward in the coming years. It is our hope that we will be grow this business and maintain a place you that is your home away from home for many years to come.
We share a love of the outdoors, living closely with the land, and working with people. Meghan is an avid gardener, herbalist, hostess, cook, crafter, and nature educator. Tyler does it all and always with a smile. He's a handy man, land manager, cook, and an outdoor adventure enthusiast. We wear a lot of hats around here and love the diversity of our work and it's seasonal changes. Our other family members are Dude the Dog, Kvothe the Cat, and a couple dozed free range chickens. We love this place and our little family is so thrilled to share it with you!
