Fantastic location right on Lake Michigan. Close to downtown Saint Ignace and several attractions. House was very clean well-maintained lots of amenities. Already looking forward to booking our next trip here.
It was very nice! Close to everything and quiet location off the road. Just what we were looking for. Appreciated the host having brochures for local restaurants and attraction's and notes left for things like the dishwasher.
Great place for a long weekend getaway with my husband. We enjoy hiking in the area. The house was easily accessible to a variety of locations.
The lake
The location is wonderful, great view, nice deck. The beds are not comfortable and would be better as queens instead of fulls. We were warned about the spiral stairway beforehand and it is indeed very tight! It's hard to get up with a suitcase.
For a quick trip to the U.P., you can’t beat the location of this cottage. Spacious interior, huge decks, fantastic beach and views. The host is attentive and communicates well.
A great place, very clean and accruately described in the listing. The location is private, yet very close to local amenities and the ferrys to Mackinac Island (<10 min drive)
We used this lovely house as our base to explore Mackinac Island, Soo Locks, water falls and Painted Rocks National Lakeshore. Clean, lovely views and quirky staircase was part of the magic
Beautiful house and location, only concern is spiral staircase only way to bedrooms ( all upstairs) would suggest bringing heavy rope or strap to pull luggage up on back balcony rather than trying to take up the spiral staircase. Staircase difficult for elderly. But otherwise perfect
We were looking for a place to stay just outside of St Ignace within driving distance to many things in the UP. This house is so relaxing with close proximity to so many great places to visit. We could not have asked for a better host! He called when we booked, right before our stay, and was reachable throughout the stay as needed.
Loved the place. Exactly as is in pictures. Everything was perfect. The only thing that might be an issue is the spiral staircase which makes it harder to carry the bags upstairs where the bedrooms are.
Every room in the house has a lake view. Very clean house and the owner was very easy to communicate with. Easy access to the lake. Only negative is this house is near the road and you have road nose when outsidethe
The location for this house is great! Close to lake Michigan and you can enjoy the water while relaxing outside. The house had everything we needed. My only suggestion would be to highlight the staircase is extremely narrow and difficult to navigate for older people.
The location is perfect, with the view of sunset on a wide-open lake. We relax on the deck at dusk every day and really enjoy the time.
The house is very clean and has everything we need. The home owner is kind that check with us before the stay to answer our questions. No doubt we'll choose this lake house again for UP trips. We really have a good time.
Gary was a wonderful host! So sweet and kind reaching out to make sure we didn’t have any questions and that we had everything we needed. The views are absolutely beautiful and the property is close to everything! The spiral staircase is very narrow but nothing that would stop us from staying again. Thanks so much Gary!
Great spot close to St. Ignace. 12minutes Back to Mackinac City. Our party had a great stay for 3 nights. Campfire near the water multiple nights to close our evenings. The place is a little dated, beds need attention as they are quite worn. Multiple items in the home need attention (Kitchen ceiling fan doesn’t work, entry door handles need addressing, main floor bath shower leaks on the floor) Little quirks, but for the price and location I'd recommend for 6. The stairway is a very tight spiral staircase, large people may have trouble, since all 3 bedrooms are upstairs. Great views in the morning and sunset. Look for mile maker 316 going west from st. Ignace as the driveway is easily missed. If you passed the Deer Ranch you went to far.
Beautiful and relaxing waterfront property. As advertised. Do note that there is a very narrow spiral stair to all three bedrooms if anyone in your party has mobility issues this would probably not be the right property for you. There is a full bathroom both upstairs and on the main floor. We stayed here with three young kids and three adults when in the area for the Mackinaw Bridge Run and were very comfortable. It is a very short drive to grocery store, restaurants, ferry to Mackinac Island, and everything else in St. Ignace and Mackinaw City. Gary was very communicative and a great host. The property is right off the highway and there is road noise if that bothers you, but in my opinion this is balanced by the absolutely serene and beautiful view of the water at the back of the property! There are balconies from all bedrooms and also a huge porch from which to enjoy this view.
We loved it. The only thing that would have kept it from 5 stars is not wanting the house to get too popular and be booked the next time we want to stay.
I saw the pic and review mention of the spiral staircase. It was a little tricky for suitcases, but not a problem the rest of the time. Some traffic noise, but not enough to be a negative.
Loved the deck, the beach, the telescope and the location since it allowed us to visit Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island, and the Dark Park back across the bridge. Gary was easy to work with and we would absolutely book again. Thanks for having us.
