We enjoyed our stay very much. The deck overlooking the water was beautiful and the perfect place for reading and watching wildlife, boats, and the sea.
My husband and I (and our pup!) really enjoyed our stay here. The views are stunning, and the location is perfect. We enjoyed a week of hiking in the area, and had a lot of fun relaxing at the cabin in the evenings. It was stocked with everything we needed- especially the kitchen!
This was a honeymoon/10 yr anniversary/bucket list trip for my husband and I. It was an amazing trip. This place is private and very well kept. The view was spectacular. We would defiantly stay there again.
Place was clean when we arrived. Cabin and lot location was very quite and locate where you couldn't see neighbors from the back deck. Very relaxing weekend. I would stay here again. View of the water was amazing.
The cabin was everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Just the right size for a family of 5 adults, it was off the beaten path, yet close enough to Boothbay Harbor, Freeport, or exploring the local Harpswell community. Sunrise from the deck, bald eagle sightings, and watching the boats come in and out of the bay made this a peaceful stay.
The views were gorgeous as the cabin is right on the water. The neighborhood was quiet. Although an older cabin, it was clean and well maintained. Very noteworthy -- the kitchen was nicely equipped including very nice pots and pans. Most important our somewhat shy dog was very comfortable within minutes of our arrival.

Bayview cabin
Bayview was comfortable, traditional maine style rustic cabin. Kitchen would be nice if extra small plate's and smaller bowl's were added. Bed's would be perfect if a topper was added to make softer. Other than that returning to maine annually has become very special for our family as adults, you have greater appreciation from children being raised in maine. Thankyou for offering a comfortable cabin.
Place was great. Lots of privacy! It was so quiet especially at night as we had cocktails on the deck. Made our 38th anniversary special. Did some fun stuff.Lands End store at end of Bailey Island and beach. Cooks lobster House. Cabot Antique mall and flea market in Brunswick. Had the best blueberry pancakes we ever had at the Kopper Kettle. Popham Beach topped everything off! talked with David at the end of the trip and hope to rent from him again!

Wow, thanks for all the recommendations for our future guests. It sounds like you had a great trip celebrating you anniversary. Please reach out and come again.
Property was exactly as described in listing. Contactless check-in was easy. House was very clean and all needed amenities were provided. The view was amazing. On the ocean but almost felt like a lake property in its peacefulness. Plenty of options for seating on the expansive deck. Made use of the gas grill, which was also very clean and worked perfectly. Only made use of first floor bedroom, but bed was very comfortable and black out blinds worked well. Looking forward to booking again and further exploring the surrounding area.
It was absolutely perfect. We hope to book again in the future. Lovely log cabin with a spectacular view.
For people booking this I would recommend getting groceries at a larger town before you arrive, as the local small stores close early. They do not have toilet paper, paper towels or typical grocery items. The cabin is not stocked with the paper products.
What an amazing place and location! We’ve been spending summer time in the region (Harpswell, Orrs, Baileys, Cundys, West Bath) for almost 10 years. This was our first time in the spring but that house was exactly as advertised. The views were amazing. Got great pictures of the Pink Full Moon reflecting on the inlet water. The fire place was a great bonus to take the chill off after long days watching colllege baseball at Colby, Bates and Bowdoin and walking the beach at Reid State Park and Popham Beach. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone looking to spend time on Casco Bay. Quick drive to downtown Brunswick and the rest of what the coast has to offer!

Thank you for that wonderful review. We are so happy this house and location were everything you needed it to be for a memorable vacation on Casco Bay.
We chose this property because we were looking for a quiet location on the water. It was everything we hoped it would be. We didn't need an active nightlife or restaurants within walking distance. What we found was an oasis of quiet with a close enough drive to Portland and Acadia. The place was very clean and had all the necessary amenities to spend a comfortable week. There was a minor issue with the cable TV not working, but David was there quickly to correct the problem. My only quibble, and it's a small one, is that the listing indicated that there was a dishwasher. We didn't find one. Would definitely choose to stay here again if we travel to Maine another time.

Rustic older retreat
We had a bad experience with the foul smelling water so we chose to leave. Property manager graciously refunded 2 nights stay.
Location is remote and no groceries nor dining close by.
The cabin decor is old; dim lamps for lighting.
Mattress is old and sheets are scratchy.
Just wasn’t what we saw on the VRBO site so we were surprised at what we walked into.
The house sits under trees so there is no natural sunlight coming in.
We wouldn’t recommend the house.

Please, I only ask any guests who stay at any of my company's rentals (Safe Harbour Property Management) if you have any questions or concerns contact me immediately, no matter what the time of day or night. Do not contact me after you have left your rental 18 hours after your arrival as was the case here.
I had my water treatment company arrive at the Cabin as soon as I was made aware of a concern. The anode in the water heater had begun to deteriorate to the point it needed changing. One hour later the problem was solved and fixed. No hint of a smell whatsoever An expedited State water lab test showed water to be just fine and the treatment system for the Cabin is working fine. The cabin is close to the water in Harpswell and to say there are no groceries nearby is just not true. In the directions sent to all guests there are explicit directions where to pick up groceries at a Hannaford, Shaw's, or Walmart, all within 6 miles of Bayview Cabin.
There are three of the best seafood restaurants in the area all within a 15-minute drive as well as two seafood take-out stands with a 10-minute drive.
I am not sure how you can stay overnight at a rental, leave at 8am and make these types of statements.
The Log Cabin is just that, a cabin that always has that "rustic" feel to it, but all three queen sized beds are new as well as the sheets from LL Bean.... not a place known for inferior scratchy sheets.
The tree mentioned is pretty prominent in many photos shown on the website, if someone is surprised by this I really do not know what to say.
I ask that all guests feel free to contact SHPM any time after you have made a reservation with us. We will take as much time as needed to answer any questions you might have.
Not every rental is going to be someone's "cup of tea", I understand that. That is why they are correct I was very generous in giving two days of rental back when that was not necessary.
I only ask anyone looking at the reviews..... how many 5-star ones are there?
My wife, adult daughter, and I stayed at Bay View for Indigenous People’s Day weekend and found it perfect for our needs. The house is well-equipped, comfortable, and easy to enjoy. It affords a superb view of Clark Cove at any time of day, but especially at sunrise and, for us, during the full moonrise. Harpswell has much more to offer than we had time to explore, but we took advantage of hikes, crafts fairs, seafood (Dolphin Marina on its last night of the season), and just hanging out with a book. We would definitely like to return.
We enjoyed a few relaxing days and nights at Bayside, spending as much time as possible out on the deck watching the tide and marine traffic, grilling and sipping wine, and letting the peace of the Maine coastline work its magic. Make sure to hike the cliff trail, and hit Pammy's for some ice cream and the Black Sheep for wine, but the rest of your time you'll enjoy this quiet, clean waterfront cabin!
