Mahina Cottage is a charming and romantic Thai-inspired guest house. It is perfectly set up for a truly rejuvenating stay or intimate retreat.

This marvelous accommodation is for the nature-lover who enjoys luxury. It boasts a large bamboo-rail deck which looks out onto majestic tall trees and lush green
foliage, and is complete with deck loungers. You will find a romantic soaking tub for two people where you can shed the stresses of civilization.

This unique vacation cottage is perched atop a forest of Eucalyptus trees and secluded in the privacy of its own bamboo grove. The interior was carefully chosen to provide guests with spacious living with its open-beam vaulted ceilings and open floor plan.
The inspirations for Mahina architectural design was to replicate the type of fine-lodging one would find along the rivers banks in Thailand

Centered in the room is a custom-made king-size bed fashioned from cherry wood and adorned with luxurious bedding. This vacation cottage is outfitted with a complete kitchen offering our guests the option to cook at home. There is a cozy inside dining area which offers a tranquil place to enjoy those great meals. This is a place where you can enjoy comfortable, elegant and laid-back island living.

Truly beautiful place. I thought we would have more of a far off ocean view, but not complaining at all. We would stay here anytime we return to Maui as a couple. You can tell She's takes great care of the place.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Sanctuary! The cabin was amazing and very inviting. The isolation and views were amazing. It was perfect way to end a day by coming home for peace and relaxation. The outdoor tub was a definite hit as well!!!

Cottage was beautiful and unique, we stayed 3 nights here after spending 6 nights in Wailea and have to say it was a awesome change of pace and scenery. We stayed during a full moon so we did not see many stars but the moon itself was the brightest I have ever seen, you could mistake it for a spotlight from above. Loved the porch and soaking tub, as well as the nature surrounding us, the upcountry is truly beautiful and would recommend anyone looking for a break of the typical Hawaiian vacation to stay here.

My partner and I absolutely loved everything about the Mahina Cottage! Shems was great in answering any questions we had prior to our trip. Upon arrival the cottage was so welcoming! Such great thoughtful touches really made us feel welcomed. During our stay Shems kept in touch, making sure we were doing ok , which was very comforting considering we were there during a storm. Honestly, we couldn't have been anywhere better to wait out the rain and wind. What a magical place!! We are definitely looking forward to our next visit!! Thank you so much Shems and Achintya!!!

Beautiful cottage

This cozy cottage on the slopes of Haleakala had everything for an extended stay and a beautiful view to boot. The stars at night were radiant. Well-kept, secluded property.

The cottage was exactly what we were looking for for our stay on Maui. It was private, quiet and a completely different speed and atmosphere from what you find near the beach. The cottage is very well maintained and you can clearly tell that the owners take pride in their property. It is quite a ways up the mountain, so be prepared for driving the winding roads.

very stunning, high quality experience. I would personally choose this place over any luxury resorts. I was amazed as soon as I entered the cottage because of the well thought music from Bose speaker, the scent, overall the gorgeous cottage. Really liked the energy of this place

Our stay was as pictured in every way! Cottage was stocked and well-appointed. The star gazing from tub on porch was exceptional, as was drinking morning coffee listening to the birds and roosters. Mahalo for kicking off our 20-anniversary trip in such a special way. Lifelong Maui upcountry fans now!

A Hawaiian Dream

My new husband & I visited Hawaii on our honeymoon & stayed in this incredible cottage. The view is absolutely breathtaking. To be able to wake up to the sunrise each & every day was a dream come true for us. The hosts are so nice & left a little welcome basket for us! We absolutely LOVED this place & hope to come back. Cannot recommend enough:))

Perfection

This is a beautiful property centrally located for all of the many activities we had scheduled for our visit to Maui. The home was clean, very private, and just as advertised. The owners have tried to make everything you could possibly need available, including beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards, ice coolers, beach towels, etc. It is a great property and one I will use again if traveling to Maui.

Absolute Magic

WARNING - You will not want to leave. This place is an absolute gem of a find. Shems was very communicative and made check in/out a breeze. The kitchen is well stocked with coffee, spices, etc. they even left us a bottle of wine, banana bread and honey from their own bees!! Everything was clean and cute. The view from the balcony was incredible. If we ever make our way back to Maui, this will be the only place we stay.

peaceful stay in the country. nicely furnished - check out the thai carved-wood mirror frame! pretty grounds. shems is very responsive and helpful. takes about 30 minutes to get down the hill.
