About the host
Hosted by Daniel Rodgers & Melissa Rodgers
My husband and I were both born and raised in the town of Gouldsboro, my husband in the village of Corea and myself in the village of Birch Harbor. We have always loved this home since we were young, and it finally came up for sale so we decided we should buy it as a rental home so we could still have a home in our hometown. I do property management and I help my husband Dan with our lobster boat tours. Dan is a full time commercial lobster fisherman and also the Captain of our lobster tours. We do the tours during the summer months to take people out to educate about our lobster industry and see our beautiful coastline and our wildlife such as harbor and gray seals and the beautiful Atlantic puffin. We also would like to make guests aware that we do live onsite in the upstairs of the garage
Why they chose this property
Our home is very charming, it is classy but has that vintage coastal Maine feeling. The backyard is very private, and you are just a three minute walk to the harbor. We are located on the beautiful Schoodic peninsula which is known as the quiet side of Acadia. We have great hiking, walking, and biking trails, beautiful scenery making it a great place to explore & relax. Bar Harbor is accessible by a ferry service located in neighboring Winter Harbor, this makes it easy to get back and forth without having to deal with traffic and parking.
