Be sure to at least give yourself a dedicated day to spend exploring the land of many levels and many doors.... and unwinding on comfortable Adirondack chairs with nothing but mountain sounds and mountain views. The land itself has so much history and uniqueness that some even call it an Adult Playground! And yes, its best to make the trip as an adult only getaway as there are lots of levels on not only the decking but the land as well!
All of the property is open for guest, the only off limit space at the moment is a basement that is not connected to the house and the shed/carport at the top of the driveway. Explore the land (at own risk - no rails, critters, etc), features more than 9 levels of pathways and doors.

The house was LOVELY and our host was AMAZING to work with. I cannot say enough good things. The only thing I will say is that the road to it is steep and curvy. Everything else, was perfect. And, even that wasn’t bad. We will probably try to book it again next year.
The house was pretty much as described. It was a nice area, and secluded to itself. The exterior is pretty well aged, but still in decent shape to spend time outside.
Absolutely amazing place!Very clean and great viewThe hot tub was stellar and sparkling clean!A lot of stairs up to it and switchbacks driving but totally worth it!Bed was sooo comfortable!Definitely take Logmill Road untilit meets Gore Road and ignore GPS….A fabulous place with a lot ofhistory!Great sunrises but close the downstairs bedroomdoor if you don’t want to wake up that earlyLoved our stay and would definitely return!Spent the week over Thanksgiving visiting family
The property was more run down than we expected. The photos definitely need to be updated. Although we were a tad disappointed as we had booked the cabin for our elopement, we made the best of it and enjoyed our time. We woke up every morning to amazing sunrises and ended each night soaking in the hot tub.
The property itself if gorgeous. Millions of hand placed stones make retaining wall after tiered retaingwall up to the A Frame. Each teir is fun to explore and relax at. The property has a nice large fire pit are and the hot tub is in an ideal location for viewing the
Cozy mountain getaway for two. Tropical storm did not stop us from visiting wineries! Wish we could have explored the property more, but really enjoyed feeling secluded. Well designed interior made it enjoyable to stay dry and take in the view from inside,
This cabin has an amazing view! I loved sitting on the porch looking out over the valley. Lots of great bird and animal watching.
The property needs some T.L.C. There was more random trash on the property and needed landscaping than I was expecting. It took away from the overall experience, but was still a nice stay.

The inside of the home is nice but there are no mirrors upstairs so everyone had to use same bathroom. Hot water ran out, lots of bugs and the outside is rundown and full of broken boards and debri.

Great Views and Peaceful!
We had a great time visiting the Black Aframe! Area is quiet, interior was nice and clean, kitchen is well stocked, hot tub was great and the property has nice views. We spent hours by the fire pit where my wife enjoyed reading a book and I chopped some wood. Instead of being entertained with technology we enjoyed the tranquility and put together a puzzle. Wish we had stayed longer, but it was a nice quick getaway. If you need some wine or even just a good story, go see Wally at the Aldie Peddler, it's only a few minutes away from the cabin and it will be a great experience.
Our guy's 1st annual getaway. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. We had to spend a lot of time away from the property because the property outside is very weathered and overgrown (nothing like the photos online). The host included snacks, but they expired on 12/23 & 2/24. Karen the host did agree to give us a refund.
The property is not correctly listed. We were expecting 5 beds and a sofa sleeper. The property is only a one-bedroom and a loft (the bedroom has ONE queen bed and the loft has a day bed). The living room has a sofa bed (not comfy).
I want to start off by staying the property is great for what we needed. It has a stunning view and privacy. As other reviewers warned, they have let the landscaping go which is a shame because it has so much potential, but I didn’t mind. The place itself is very clean and smells nice. However, we were irritated when we arrived as we saw that the listing description was inaccurate. It states on the property details that it had 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bath with 5 queen beds and 1 sofa bed (pull out couch). That was why we booked because we had 6 people in our party. Instead, we found one bedroom with one queen bed, a loft with a double bed and trundle double bed and the sofa bed couch in the living room. Thankfully someone had an air mattress in their vehicle, so no one had to sleep on the floor. The inaccuracy is frustrating because we paid a pretty good amount to have someone sleeping on an air mattress. Hopefully they will change the description and try to restore the beautiful grounds on the property back to its original glory! If those things don’t bother you, definitely stay here!
