Higgins Lake Gem - One Of A Kind Lake Front

The house is on Tamarack Ave. on the south east corner. A beautiful Higgins Lake Vacation Home is sitting here for you. This Higgins Lake cottage sleeps up to eight people comfortably and offers all the amenities to make your vacation unforgettable. (With the other houses next to this cottage we can accommodate up to 30 people. See Big House) From the comfort of this accommodation you will be able to enjoy all that Higgins Lake has to offer you. The house has 3 bedrooms, one bedroom upstairs that has a queen bed, one bedroom downstairs with a queen bed, and another bedroom downstairs with a full bed and a bunk bed. The house is about 100 feet off the water with no obstructions or road in front of the house.

This Higgins Lake vacation property offers you the use of very spacious bedrooms and approximately 800 feet of woods behind the house. Take advantage of the kitchen that will make you feel at home with all the essentials you need, including a dishwasher, central air, updated washer & drier and many other amenities. This Michigan vacation rental also boasts a 6 foot deep sandy beach, mooring for a boat, and a ramp to launch a 13 foot or smaller boat, otherwise you can launch at the state park 1 mile east of house. You will have a private dock on the lake with seating and easy access to the lake.

During your stay at our Higgins Lake vacation rental you will also enjoy cable TV, high speed WIFI on the property, central air conditioning and BBQ.

Rentals are from Sat. at 4 pm until sat at 10 am in the summer, except for the week before labor day which is Sat; till Fri. at a reduced rate.

From I-127 take the south Higgins Lake exit, go east 4.5 miles until you go down a hill, then turn left on Bluejay Ave go to tamarack Ave. and turn left, go 100 feet and that is the beginning of my property and the end of Tamarack Ave.

Our Higgins Lake vacation house has everything you need to feel right at home and our destination has just about every activity you could ever want to try with friends and loved ones. So do not wait any longer shoot us an email or a call, we will be happy to accommodate you in this house or one of the other Higgins Lake vacation rentals that we manage. My brother's house (Owner Listing 310228) is available for rent also. Our property is private and surrounded by trees with ample multi car parking.

Amazing time at this beautiful property! The cabin gives that rustic feel while providing all the comforts of home. Livingroom and kitchen look out over the lake. Although my kids complained of no TVs in 2 of 3 bedrooms, they quickly found other things to occupy their time, swimming, kayaks and walks in the woods. Hosts John and Kip were kind and anticipated our every need: Solo firepit, wood, Weber grill, extra gas tank, chairs for 8, need I say more. We had a fantastic time and be booking for next year. Thank you!

We had a great time at this rental on the most beautiful lake in the world. The property was clean and as advertised. It was on a great part of the lake and the owner was very responsive to any needs that arose. Wonderful time; would definitely stay again!

Only complaint was the beds were not comfy and sprinkler system was a bit of an annoyance but overall it was a great place to stay with plenty of parking for our large family and large home made it very comfortable. Would defnatly do it again.

Family Getaway

This house was perfect for our family of 8. Great location on the lake. Plenty of room for the extended family to come and hang out by the water. The beds were comfortable. Recommend each person bring a blanket, a bedspread is provided. Kitchen was well stocked though we did not cook alot. We hope to be back again for another stay. John was very accessible if we needed anything.

Great little spot

This was this years yearly vacation destination. Perfect for our extended family of 9. We did bring a couple air mattresses, but plenty of space upstairs for those. The place was exactly as expected. The lake was great. John was very pleasant. Only complaint would be the sprinklers, a warning of them and timing would have been helpful. Wouldn't have gotten things wet if warned ahead of time.

Clean lake house, friendly owner

We stayed at Higgins Lake for a week, hoping for good sailing weather, and while the weather wasn't great, Higgins is a beautiful lake and the property where we stayed was very nice. Beds are comfortable, lots of seating for watching TV in the evenings. Kayaks are available for the days that are calm. Kitchen is well supplied. There are lots of hand towels, bath towels, and wash cloths. We brought our own sheets and beach towels, but it looked like those were also available. The owner, John, and his extended family live in the next few houses and are very easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay!

Peace and tranquility until the wee hours

We enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake until the wee hours of the morning which are party hours for our neighbors. That does get a bit annoying. We had also requested permission to bring our service dogs but did not get a response do did not inquire further but did notice that the neighbors had a dog with them.

Great Place to Stay

The house was perfect for our needs. Very comfortable and not over done. And the location was PERFECT. The staff was extremely helpful and totally responsive to our questions. One thing we think may require attention is the top bunk in one of the bedrooms was extremely noisy and we felt may not be safe. The requirement we thought was a little strange regarded laundry. We had to make up our own beds upon arrival, but where the problem arose was that we had to launder all our linens and towels before departure. While there were 2 washers and dryers, the fact that one set was in the basement which contained multiple spiders presented us with a problem that meant we were not able to dry all the laundry. For that we apologize. Thank you for your great home and super hospitality.

Wonderful Up North vacation

Cottage had everything we were looking for. Beautiful lake views from the family room, kitchen, and property. Spacious for our size group, 4 adults and 1 child. Nice beach and swimming area for young kids. Gorgeous aqua blue lake with good fishing. Parked our boat at their mooring. Cottages are a little close together, so not a lot of privacy at the beach as neighbors are there too. We didn’t mind because it provided the opportunity for our 4 year to make a friend two cottages over. Would be beneficial for owner to put up curtains on the side of home that faces the neighbors bon fire pit for comfort of added privacy. The upstairs master suite is huge and we really loved having the room to stretch out, easily could add couch and tv there to provide a 2nd family room space. The new hardwood floors are very nice, but a little slippery and we didn’t feel safe to walk around with socks, so just be careful. We enjoyed our stay very much and would rent again. Thanks John!

Fun for the whole family!!

As a child I grew up coming up to Higgins Lake Michigan to visit my grandparents, so I wanted to show my family the same fun I remembered. So we brought our 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Even though we waited to long to book and we went at the end of May beginning of June. We still had the time of our lives. Everyone swam in the water, played at the beach (right in front of the cabin) and went for a boat ride (ask John about boat rentals they were way cheaper than the state park). There was even a park on Market Rd (maybe a mile down the road from the cabin) it was the best park I have ever been to even my grown up children had a blast lol. I had as much fun at this cabin/Lake as I did as a child visiting my grandparents I think my children and grandchildren will now have the memories I had as a child also. Thank you all so very much for the memories. PS my granddaughter who is 5 said they have the BEST swing EVER!!! (It was right outside the cabin)

I am a semi retired dentist and love being at Higgins Lake. I have three sons scattered across the country. We all converge back at the Lake during the summer and relive the early years with fond memories.

Why they chose this property

My mother bought this cottage (immediately adjacent to our large family vacation home) in the early 1970's. She immediately transformed the house into a photographers studio. After she died, I remodeled the house to serve as my family's vacation home.

What makes this property unique

The cottage was totally rebuilt in 2006 which included re-insulating the front 450 sq feet of the house updating the kitchen,, tearing down the remainder, and adding on 1200 sq feet. There is also a new foundation under the entire cottage.
