We had an incredible stay here! Clean, beautiful with views we couldn’t stop taking pictures of! Our kids loved the minicade and shuffle table! Communication was great! We will be back!
We were really impressed with the placed and loved the screened in porch, where we spent most of our time. It is a drive up the mountain but worth it. Would stay there again!
The house
Definitely would stay here again.
Very spacious house with all the amenities. This was a perfect stay for a romantic, relaxing couples getaway
Overall our stay was good, beautiful home as described. Due to fog the travel up the mountain was hard to see late at night. Wish we could have enjoyed the view a little more, but mother nature was not cooperating. Property manager was very responsive and quick to address an issue and massages we had upon arriving. Definitely wish we had a couple more days to truly enjoy the beauty the property offered.
Our stay at the house was perfect for our family of five. The three bedrooms allowed everyone to have their space, the hot tub was relaxing after a day of adventure, the fire pit was a good spot for conversation and the views at sunset were breath taking.
I would highly recommend this location.
Property was just as listed, beautiful views. We had trouble with the online information "book" but managed without it. Very secluded, a little concerning with all the private property signs on the way in but neighbors seemed nice enough
It has the best view it was so cool waking up to the clouds above the houses below and the hot tub was amazing and it was overall just a very nice calm and cozies place and we had such a great time and we will definitely be coming back!!
We had a fantastic time! The house was clean and the views breathtaking. The host was very responsive to any question we asked. We would definitively come here again. Thank you!!!
Very nice location. I stayed while doing business in the area. House was very clean and all amenities were included.
Only complaint is hot tub does not work great.
Our experience staying at Quiet Mountaintop was above and beyond any expectations. Since the minute after I booked this house, I could feel our holidays were going to be fantastic. The property manager made sure I had all the information I needed to guarantee a unique experience. The House, it facilities, the fire pit, the views.. all made of this stay one of the best holidays I had with my family. I know that we are going to be back! 100% recommended for families
Everything was as listed and nearly perfect. However, I was unable to turn the main kitchen light on, which could be user error as it was remote controlled. I was also unable to fully flush one of the toilets, and lastly I was unable to get in contact with the host to get the WIFI password, so I had to use cellular data the whole stay.
We had an absolutely amazing experience during our stay at this rental. The breathtaking view of the mountains and the captivating sunset left us in awe every single minute. We took full advantage of the beautiful surroundings by having our breakfast, lunch, and dinner outdoors, immersing ourselves in the stunning scenery. The jacuzzi was a fantastic bonus that added another layer of relaxation to our stay. Without a doubt, we cannot wait to return to this extraordinary rental in the future.
My girlfriend and I loved this cottage and the view was amazing! We spent 99% of the time on the back porch. Enjoyed the clear days and watching the rain roll through the valley. There is some other cottages around, but you won’t even notice they are there. The owner did a great job with modernizing the cottage, but keeping a mountain cottage feel. Morganton has many parks with great trails, waterfalls and views. Visit Lake James…beautiful lake with kayaking available. We hope to return next year! Owner was very responsive for any questions. We were looking for a romantic and fun getaway…mission accomplished!
The view from the back deck is absolutely breathtaking, especially from the hot tub at sunset!!!
I recommend grabbing all your groceries before heading up the mountain to the rental- it’s roughly a 15 minute drive on paved switchbacks to get up there, so not conducive to “running to the store real quick” for any forgotten items! :-)
We ran into an unfortunate issue that forced us to leave a day earlier than planned, but the host was more than gracious and fair and worked with us to ensure we were happy with the experience despite the setback.
Enjoy the peaceful retreat!!
The view was amazing. We didn't have any water the final night of our stay and the next morning until around 9AM. Rather than allow us the time to finish our damp laundry, and take showers the next morning, we felt extremely rushed to get out of the house. They seemed more interested in making money for the next customer rather than making the current customer happy. Apparently, water issues are a repetive problem with this property. I would not stay again.
The house is adorable, clean and the view takes the cake. My family had a blast. The hot tub and fire pit are perfectly placed for max view of the valley, and of course the Smokey mountains and lake James.
The only thing I wished I would have know was that there was no drip coffee maker. Had I had known I would have brought my little French press. There was 4 K- Cups and a small machine, but had I known there were only 4 I could have prepared to add them to my shopping list before hand. Coffee on the porch was something I was very much looking forward to.
Otherwise this place is perfect!

This is a great place with a great view. The house seemed larger in the photos. Rooms were just a little bit smaller which is not a bad thing. Wished you could control the air conditioning and heat a little more than you could. The view was absolutely fantastic. The only issues we had was that the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was barely hanging on the wall. You can also tell that it had been moved twice before. There was also a stain on the ceiling that kind of look like black mold. Everything else was great Love the stay. It is a bit of a drive to get to on a very winding narrow road. We love that it was close to the venue where our daughter was getting married. We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet secluded mountaintop stay away from town.
Our family of 4 stayed here for the weekend surrounding our daughter's graduation from NCSSM in Morganton. It was fantastic! The views are incredible. This house is 25 minutes up the mountain and it is so worth it. Go slow and enjoy the local flora and fauna. We saw turkeys multiple times, including a family with babies! Our mornings on the screened in porch were delightful with the view and the sounds of so many birds. The house was clean and well stocked with linens and plenty of all the things you would need for a stay (dishwasher pods, trash bags, laundry detergent, hand soaps, etc). Beds were comfortable. If you're planning to cook meals, bring any special utensils/cookware/spices you would want. There are towels provided for the hot tub as well as an awesome shuffleboard table. Smart tv and games and puzzles available too. The arcade was super fun and we enjoyed showing our girls some classic games. Online guidebook answered any questions we had and made it all super easy. Highly recommend!
This was our second time renting this property and once again it was worth every penny! The views are indescribable, the host is amazing and the house is so perfect and comfortable- you are going to love your stay! This is the mountain getaway you’ve been dreaming of! The hot tub faces the sunset and there is so much to do in Morganton!
Breathtaking views all the way from the tippy top of the mountain!!
You will literally die when you arrive bc the view is beyond amazing and the fact that the backyard faces the sunset seems unreal. The house inside is set up perfectly and everything has been updated! We never used the fireplace bc it was warm enough with the heat on.
The arcade has 5,000 games from your childhood- things you haven’t played in decades!!
The shuffleboard in the living room is a perfect added touch!
Make sure you make plans to be at the house every night for sunset- we changed our plans two of the nights to do just that!
There’s plenty to do in state park that the house backs onto and a Morganton is a cute little western nc town with great shops and food.
Sarah was a dream and we’re so thankful she found this property to take care of and share! We’ll be back for sure!!
Stayed for five days, property manager was very responsive with our questions. Beautiful location, adventurous 20 minutes up paved mountain road, didn't need four wheel drive, our rental van did just fine, worth the distance every time we came home to immaculate sunset views for days. Beds comfy, and they included both regular bath towels and beach towels for the hot tub, with handy laundry right on site. Campfire and hot tub awesome, satellite and smart tv for tech, but preferred quiet reading, games, or puzzles. Gas fireplace wasn't working first week of October but the nest does both heating and cooling so we didn't need it. Also included plates, cups, silverware, utensils, pots and pans, toaster and kureig, super helpful. Flew into Charlotte and then onto Asheville, but if I had to plan it again would drive straight from Charlotte airport. Great hiking in the area.
