Great location in the quiet community of Lake Roberts. Walking distance from Lake Roberts General Store (open seasonally). Lake Roberts is just over the hill for phenomenal Bass, Trout, and Catfish fishing; kayaking; or canoeing. There are several hiking trails, as well as ATV trails in the area.
This is a central location to what the Gila has to offer. Less than a mile to Lake Roberts; 20-25 minutes to Gila Hot Springs; 35-45 minutes to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. Close by trails to hike and ride are far too many to list!

Please take note that this is a fairly remote location. You will need to bring food, as the nearest grocery store is almost an hour drive (Silver City). The closest restaurant is about 20 minutes away (The Log Cabin) and has limited days/hours.
Cell service: There is NO cell service at the motel without logging into the WiFi. So make sure you print out instructions including the WiFi information and door code. You can connect to the WiFi from the parking lot if necessary.
Inclement winter weather: please note that Highway 15 and Highway 35 are not plowed on weekends and evenings. It is rare that we get enough snow to block roads, but we are in the mountains and it can happen (most years a couple of times). Please watch the forecast for Lake Roberts Heights, NM on WeatherBug leading up to your stay.
During the monsoon season (July/August) and beyond, we get heavy rains some years that can cause the arroyos to flow across Hwy 35. Again, watch the WeatherBug forecast leading up to your stay.

Furnace went out so just lit the stove to keep the chill off. When we arrived other people were in our room. They had been there before and used the same code. Need to change codes every time. Rooms were clean and comfortable

Cabin 7 at Inn at Lake Roberts
This cabin is amazing. Clean and well maintained! All the amenities that you could possibly want. A large refrigerator, and stove with oven. Microwave, coffeemaker, (coffee included, both caffeinated and decaffeinated). Loved the heater in the main room. Propane flame that looks like a fireplace. Kept the whole cabin warm and is on a thermostat. The decor is so cute. Really loved this place. When I had a question the caretaker immediately responded. The outside pavillion was delightful. I can't praise this place enough! Thanks for a very lovey stay!

NOT a 6 room cabin...
Overall, our stay was ok. I organized a weekend getaway for myself, my mother (in her 80s), sisters, & nieces. 6 of us in total, for 3 and 1/2 days, and according to the listing, this was seemed like the right size.
Thankfully, our mother ended up not coming, & we are very grateful. The listing is WAY too small for 6 people. It may sleep 6, but that's about it. If you are in town to go fishing & need a place to sleep, then this is the place. This was supposed to be a weekend getaway, & we were on top of each other. It was nice to have the outside enclosed patio because there would not have been room to eat inside. Also, the kitchen is best to cook small meals.
The bathroom supplies were sufficient for 2-3 people, but not for 6. As stated previously, I am VERY grateful that my mother did not come. We ran out of toilet paper, twice & it was difficult to get a response from the property manager. We left texts, emails, & voicemails & never got a response. Eventually, the young woman showed up with the TP. Luckily, two of us brought our own towels, otherwise we would not have had enough.
The patio was locked when we arrived, & the door kept sticking. We would lock it at night, as it is screened in and for safety reasons. On our last day, we could not open the door. Much of our supplies were in that room, so we couldn't pack up. Again, we texted, emailed, & left voice mails & the young woman did not show up for a couple of hours. I would only rebook this room if it were for 3.
