Wonderful cozy cottage with mountain views. Borders Gila National Forest.

The cottage is clean comfortable safe home with beautiful nights with a clear view of the stars. The mountain trails into the Gila National Forest are out the back gate. a gazebo, fire pit and propane grill are there at all times. Hunting and fishing! join us for a New Mexico mountain adventure. We are close to historic Pinos Altos and the Gila Cliff Dwellings. We are 40 minutes from Silver City with many restaurants, Pubs, University, galleries and museums. Ten minutes from lake Roberts. Tour of the Gila and mountain biking! Private tennis court for your use! No extra cgarge for your dog and no host fee.

Shirley was a great host and the place was just what we were looking for this weekend. We really enjoyed our stay, with an incredible view of the stars right out the front door. The cottage was perfect for my friend and I; and the banana bread that welcomed us was fantastic!

The cottage was nice, but there was no toilet brush and no full-sized refrigerator to store our food! There was no iron or ironing board, and no full-sized stove to cook on! The hot water in the shower ran out once as well! There was only one wardrobe, but there was not enough space inside for suits, coats, or dresses! We enjoyed the isolation but we did not realize how poor the dirt road was that led up to the property! Overall, the cottage was quite nice! Shirley was awesome and the hospitality was great; however, we are used to having a few more basic amenities!

Cozy cottage

We had an amazing time. This cottage is in the Gila National Forest. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife while sitting on the patio. The tennis courts were really nice and that was fun. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Just what we needed. Shirley and her family are awesome hosts.

We are Marty and Shirley Mize. Marty is a retired Hot metal crane operator at the Copper mine, currently is Fire Chief of the Upper Mimbres Fire department. Shirley is a retired Director of Cardiopulmonary/Neuro at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City. Currently serving on the board of Camp Thunderbird. We have 4 wonderful grown sons and three grandsons. We love playing tennis, walking and collecting antiques and making stained glass.
