The home met all our needs and was in a gorgeous setting among the redwoods. The house was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The hosts were pleasant and timely communicators.
The house was such a serene sanctuary. Well kept, clean, so comfortable for our family of 4 having a 5 day vacation. We were able to explore so much of the region within an hour of the place. The owners were easy to communicate with and process is seamless.

Thank you Michael, It was a pleasure to host you and your family!
A wonderful home with a beautiful outdoor sitting area. I highly recommend as it is also a good location to go visit places in the surrounding areas. Just so people are aware...it is in a neighborhood with neighbors, but it was not an issue at all. You may have a hard time choosing a shower...they both feel amazing. It says one bathroom but there are two. I highly recommend this quaint home among the beautiful trees.
This redwood trees around the home are magical. I loved the gated property for the dogs! The owners did a great job with the offerings and it was much roomier than expected. The soak in the bath tub to relieve the muscles after our hike was fantastic. We used this more for sleeping as we have family in the area and spent most of our time there. But I loved all the little spaces around the yard and the games they provided. It really feels like Mountain living; a great change of speed from city life. The hosts are also cool to deal with bonus.

Fantastic being in the redwoods. Highlights were the deck and the fire pit. House well set up: 4 bedrooms with nice beds, kitchen was better set up than rental-only properties. Hosts communicative, check in and check out were easy. Overall- great base for a hiking weekend!
This home is in such a beautiful setting. There are neighbors but you feel pretty secluded with the artul gate and fencing. The kitchen is well stocked and there are many lovely details inside and out. Entry and exit were seamless, and we only wished our schedule had allowed to spend more time lounging here! The chairs are perfect for staring up at the canopy above.
Excellent stay on all fronts. The quiet outdoor sitting areas, spacious rooms, tasteful decor, and shady location among towering redwoods all contributed to a very enjoyable time. Host communication was prompt and clear. This is among the best vacation rentals we've encountered. I liked that it was well outside of town. Other places we've booked off Hwy 9 have been very noisy and cramped. I'd definitely stay here again.

The cabin was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Communication was great with the property owners, replies was sent within 5 minutes. The outside area was very nice even thou we didn’t get to enjoy it due to only being there two nights. I would definitely stay here again.
My family and I loved our stay at this home in Boulder Creek. We would highly recommend it to other families looking to get away for a trip / enjoy the solace of the redwoods.

We were looking for a getaway for our family of six in the redwoods and the Redwood Cabin was perfect. It is beautifully nestled among many redwood trees in the Santa Cruz mountains with a gated entrance to the property for privacy. The cabin had everything we needed, and it was clean and comfy. Using the upstairs fireplace heated the main room nicely for our winter stay. The hosts were very responsive to our questions. Having stayed at other properties before, this was a standout experience for our family.

About the host
Hosted by Jake & Michelle Richmond
Jake, originally from San Diego, and Michelle, from the city of Shaoyang in China, found a shared passion for the redwoods and life in Silicon Valley. With three energetic children and a love for travel and great food, they always valued finding balance amidst life’s bustle. A few years back, during the height of COVID, they discovered the perfect home—a cozy sanctuary among the redwoods, a place to relax and reconnect away from the pandemic chaos.
What began as an escape soon became their first true family home, a peaceful haven that offered them a deep connection to nature. Over time, they realized this home was too special to keep all to themselves. Now, with work and family activities pulling them closer to town, they’ve decided to share their serene spot with others. Here, they hope guests can find the same rejuvenating peace they have—a quiet, calming retreat filled with nature's beauty and charm.
Why they chose this property
It was the experience peace and tranquility with easy access to everything vibrant in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This retreat-style home offers the perfect balance: secluded enough for relaxation, yet conveniently close to everything a family, group of friends, or colleagues could desire!
What makes this property unique
Located in a gated parcel the cabin has been commented quite a few times by guests that mention it feels very private, safe and exclusive.
