The host is so responsive and helpful during our stay. The house is absolutely lovely with breathtaking views. Get ready to go up the mountain on a 1 lane road as stated in the description but the house is so worth it. We had a really nice stay here!
Sarah must be detail oriented. Every room in the house had a great personality. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. My daughter and I walked to the Felton bridge.Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with our family.
Beautiful home with great amenities located in the Redwoods. Extremely well stocked. We were there for a wedding weekend and didn’t get the chance to relax enjoy the house but it is definitely a place to enjoy and unwind.
Made good use of hot tub and well stocked kitchen. The deck was a good gathering place for the 10 of us. We were surprised that the fourth bedroom was not private, it was the game room and a passageway to the deck and other rooms. We enjoyed the wood stove in the evenings.
We had a wonderful stay. The place had amazing amenities, even a towel warmer in the bathrooms, and nearly every appliance we could want in the kitchen. We only found that we might want more serving platters and bowls, but otherwise it was lacking nothing. We loved the deck with the table and had most of our meals out there, as it was big enough to hold everyone in our party (9). It was very comfortable for everyone, and the inflatable hot tub had such a great view and was a perfect place to relax.

Nice Remote Retreat
The amenities of the house were as stated. The location of the property is not accessible without an offroad vehicle. The road is dirt, big bumps and ruts, and its hard to find because there is no cell service. The house is noce if you can handle all the stairs. Great place if you want aquiet, private, retreat type vacation.

As I write in the listing, this is authentic off-the-beaten-path driving and the roads are bumpy indeed! However an offroad vehicle is not recommended or needed. Residents of these roads drive everything from small sedans to fairly large trucks like an f150. My direct neighbors drive a Kia Soul and a bmw, and I currently drive a Honda Crv. Hope this helps any guests in the future!🌲
This place is beautiful and the host is so helpful and communicative. Yes, it is up a mountain road that may feel intimidating your first time up but you get used to it. It reminded us of roads in boulder, CO and Sonoma County, CA. We got a tesla up there fine and they are low to the ground. You dont need a special vehicle. The quiet woods in the early morning are worth the trek alone. The house is close to markets and restaurants and attractions. It felt spacious enough for our big family and safe enough for my almost three year old, even with all the stairs. She loved watering the plants and finding banana slugs! There are sound machines in each room so sleeping was not an issue. The property has a lot of nice touches and is decorated beautifully
This is a very honest review. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. It is clean and remodeled with modern conveniences. It is a peaceful and serene place. The road to this cabin, which the owner tells you upfront is absolutely horrible. It is a 1 lane road that has hairpin turns, holes and will make you question your sanity of choosing this cabin. However, due to this road we chose to stay at the cabin and enjoy its tranquility instead of venturing out to explore. Also, this is not really a 4 bedroom cabin. Its really a 3 bedroom with an extra bed in a gameroom that people have to use as a go thru to the 3rd bedroom. Once again, something the owner tells you about if you read the description which we didn't totally understand. All in all if you would like to have a little peace and quiet to reconnect with the people you love and dont mind a little bit of a remote, off the beaten path cabin then this is the place for you.

Why they chose this property
Felton us a charming forest town tucked among the giant redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Its small downtown, makes you want to sit and chat with friendly locals. As the first stop on Highway 9 into the San Lorenzo Valley, Felton welcomes visitors with a unique vibe.
Originally a logging community, Felton has seen nature reclaim much of the land. A piece of history still running is the narrow-gauge railroad, featuring an 1890 steam engine that travels through beautiful groves and over trestles to Bear Mountain. Felton is also home to one of the tallest covered bridges in the United States, built in 1892, which spans the San Lorenzo River.
From Felton, you can easily access some of California's best parks, including Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Fall Creek Unit, and Big Basin Redwoods State Park, the oldest park in the state.
