Good host communication, but several issues impacted our stay. The owners were communicative and responsive when we reached out, but unfortunately, we experienced several significant issues during our 2 week stay.First, we had no hot water for three days. While the owners kept in touch, getting it resolved took far longer than expected. Additionally, the microwave was broken when we arrived. We reported it, and they said they would look into it, but we never received a follow-up, leaving us without a working microwave for the entire duration of our trip. The space itself has some functional drawbacks: Bathroom: Extremely cramped. When standing between the toilet and the sink, your legs touch both simultaneously. You have to squeeze around a corner at an angle just to reach the sink from the toilet. Bed Quality: The mattress I slept on was very firm/hard and is definitely due for a replacement or a quality topper. Maintenance: Vines are actively growing inside through the windows in certain areas. Parking: While the driveway trees had been trimmed back somewhat, low-hanging branches were still low enough to scratch the top of my car, making driveway parking impractical.Overall, while I appreciate the hosts' communication style, the property maintenance and comfort fell short during our stay.
The location was not in a safe area. The furniture was worn & not as pictured. The boarded up fireplace was 3’ from the couch at most. Window AC unit that was loud & smelled. Note- you can sit on the toilet & brush your teeth at the same time. I had my elderly mother with me & it didn’t feel safe to leave her there at night. The owner agreed to charge me for 2 nights instead of 13 (we didn’t even stay one night) but after charged me the full amount anyway. I called VRBO but there was nothing they could do.
Upon arrival of staying at the property I tested positive for COVID. We were quarantined for 12 days.
We were told to park in front of the white garage. When we arrived another tenant said we were parked in his spot and his wife was Ill. So the entire stay we parked out on the grass by the garage cans.
We washed everyday as there was not enough towels.
The sink in the bathroom has caulking that is nasty around the sink. We washed bedding three times while there.
Our dogs were never left alone. They said there was a strong urine smell but it must have come from the previous renter.
