About this property

VIEWS TO CALM THE SOUL -- A PERFECT GETAWAY

As soon as you step in the door of this ground level condominium, you've begun to relax. The large picture window with views of both the river and the ocean, and the shoreline of Monterey in the distance, are always visible from the living area (open style living room, a kitchen and dining room).

READ THE REVIEWS FROM OUR PREVIOUS GUESTS... THEY DESCRIBE PELICAN 75 BETTER THAN WE CAN!!!! (You'll notice that our location is one of the most frequently mentioned features of where we are in Pajaro Dunes.)

From the 2 sofas in the living room you can read peacefully, light a fire (on cool nights or in the winter), or watch a movie.
If you chose to cook, you don't have to be away from the outdoor views and can enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen to prepare happy hour for the beach or to put on the salmon for dinner. The glass doors off the living room take you to the deck, where you'll likely enjoy most meals. (The pelicans usually provide fascinating entertainment.)

The master bedroom, with California king bed and television, has its own full bath. The 2nd bedroom has 1 double bed with a single trundle underneath. Washer and dryer. Second full bathroom. Roku TV. Internet access.

NOTE: Due to fire restrictions outdoor grilling is not permitted. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The community includes tennis courts, basketball courts and lots of riding, walking paths.

We had a wonderful two-night stay! The condo was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved the privacy of being next-to-the-last unit — it felt like we had that whole area to ourselves. It’s just a short, easy walk to the beach, so having the privacy, yet quick access to the beach made it a perfect place for us to stay. Our only regret was that we didn't bring binoculars!. Such a peaceful, relaxing spot — we’d definitely stay again.

Beautiful comfortable stay!

We loved spending 4 nights here and was sad to leave. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean. The kitchen was well stocked so easy to cook in. Felt like a home away from home. We loved the easy access to the beach!

We had a wonderful week at Pajaro Dunes in this condo. It was clean, comfortable and well stocked for a week at the beach. The master bedroom was good sized and the king sized bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was also well stocked with spices and appliances. Morning coffee was either in the living area looking out the windows or on the deck. Easy access to the beach and a short walk to the tennis and pickleball courts. Our property manager was easy to reach and very responsive. This was our first visit to this condo, but we will definitely look to stay here again. It was a great week.

Fabulous weekend away with my girlfriends. The condo was clean, well stocked and great location. We felt very safe. Easy access to the beach too! We would stay here again. The host is very good about getting back to you with any questions you may have.

Comfortable home at the beach

My grandkids loved the close access to the beach, and were excited to explore, collecting shells and playing in the waves and sand. The kitchen was well supplied, and there were plenty of games and movies. The hosts were very responsive. It was an easy drive to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, another spectacular part of our weekend. We had a great time and highly recommend Pajaro Dunes.

we were supposed to be let in to check in by 3:00 we didn’t get in until probably by 6 because the owner has a problem with how many guests i had all family for my daughter celebration. i don’t think i will ever stay here again.

Perfect Family Escape

We had a wonderful time in Pajaro Dunes! Great location for bird watching and exploring the beach. We were really impressed with the cleanliness, organization,decor and view the home offered. Great weekend

I stayed here with some girlfriends and the condo was great. The only complaint I heard was that the pillows on the king bed weren’t comfortable. Everything else was really nice and I would stay here again and recommend it to friends. ☺️

Extremely small cramped and crowded not as clean as they claim it would be definitely not elderly friendly at all 😬 somebody needs to clean the windows that over look the dunes and wash the couch coverlet they smell I believe if the owners showed up on announced they would not be happy for the amount we paid I expected better and cleaner

Family Tradition

My husband and I grew up going to Pajaro Dunes every summer. This condo was the perfect place to introduce our older children to the beauty. The communication and instructions were clear and easy. The condo is very clean and well equipped. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice trip to the coast. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to enjoy your family condo. Perfect get away

We had a wonderful time staying at this quaint beach condo. The walkway to the boardwalk path was a perfect spot for the kids to play while we enjoyed sitting on the deck. It was a short distance to the beach which had a wonderful view from inside with the dunes and so many birds to watch as well. We spent most of our time during the day enjoying the beautiful sandy beach and were sad to leave. The house was very well equipped, clean, and the correspondence with the owner while booking was very prompt and friendly. We had a great get away, but only wish we didn’t have to head back home so soon!

Lovely location, amazing views! Comfortable seating in living room, nice king bed in master suite, great showers, well-equipped kitchen. Sliding door from living room to patio was difficult to open and close - maybe needs some repair - and standing lamp by fireplace seems to have a broken switch. But we managed just fine and had a great stay. Thank you!

This is a great place with high-quality amenities and tasteful decorations. It’s located right at the sand dunes. A beautiful location for bird watching. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hoping to return soon. It was a little cold and cloudy for the beach. Maybe early fall might be better weather-wise. Tried patio dining at Jalisco and take out from Sukho Thai. Both were very good.

Awesome location, Awesome time!!

We are a group of ladies ranging in age from 72 to 91. 3 of the ladies are from out of state. We all felt right at home, safe, & comfortable!! The weather could not have been better & the view was spectacular. If you are looking for a place to enjoy hearing the ocean, watching the birds, & being centrally located to see Monterey & Carmel one day, & travel north to Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos & Soquel, this is it!! Could not have been better!!

Perfect in every way

We wish we could give 6 stars. Everything was amazing. We started the day watching the sun rise over the river with the otters and birds. And ended the day with beautiful sunsets over the ocean. The views were incredible. The condo was beautifully equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms were remodeled and gorgeous. We texted the owner for help and got an immediate response. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Pajaro Dunes 75

We were traveling from Los Angeles to San Fransisco with our three preteen/teen age kids. We appreciated having a space to relax and enjoy the beach in the middle of all our sightseeing and hiking. The kids loved having a beach to explore, making sand castles and boogie boarding in the awesome waves. The view from the condo was so peaceful and the access to the beach was great. The condo was fully stocked with anything we needed. We wish the weather could have been a little better. We expected cooler, but it was very cool and foggy most of the 3 days we were there. The kids braved the ocean despite, so we had a great time. Thanks!

Great location and great property

The check-in instructions were very thorough, and we appreciated the grocery/shopping suggestions prior to arrival. We got a little turned around trying to find front door, and a friendly neighbor helped point us in right direction. Inside the property we had everything we needed for cooking and eating meals on property. We had 2 adults and 3 teenagers, and slept comfortably in 2 bedrooms. The washer/dryer was a huge plus. Best part was that the beach was literally steps away. View of ocean and beach was amazing. Surprisingly we had no problems keeping 3 teenagers happy, as they explored the beautiful beach and local wildlife. Just a short drive to a few state parks, and to both Santa Cruz and Monterey. Check-out process was easy. Would stay here again if ever back in the area. Thank you!

We were 2 senior couples traveling northern California for the sites. This location was very peaceful and relaxing after a day of touring. It was a first floor unit which was great. Not sure how often the Pelicans come in but there had to be at least 500 that came in on our second evening. The unit worked well for us. Just forgot how small a double bed is for 2 adults. Sleeping on the twin and getting up from the floor was not an option. Kitchen was great and had what we needed. We would definitely stay again.

John and Mary Pastrone bought Pelican 75 in the 1960s so their 3 young sons could enjoy beach weekends and escape the heat of the San Jose area. Today, a 3rd generation of grandchildren enjoy the same surroundings their fathers did 40 years ago when they were young. The property is currently managed by Lauri Pastrone, one of John and Mary's three daughters-in-law.

Why they chose this property

It's the ideal location at Pajaro Dunes. Quiet and private... in between the ocean and the river... with massive views of the ocean, river, and sand dunes. And it's ground level so that families can be indoors and out but still be together.
We have upgraded and updated over the past 5 years, including 2 full master bathrooms with dual showers, new furniture and many extras. And we have the best cleaning team in Pajaro Dunes.

Fully stocked with everything you could possibly need.... from kitchen gear to beach gear... all you have to bring is your food and clothing.
