I had a great stay here - the host was easy to communicate with and very friendly! The neighborhood is quiet and close to many things to do around the city.
This is our second stay at what I have dubbed Zilker Zen. Love the short walk to ACL and all of the restaurants in Barton Springs! Can’t wait to stay again next year! Thank you to our sweet host for always making our stay lovely.
Lovely space to lay our heads during ACL! Short walk to Zilker Park every day and Barton Springs restaurants! Sweetest host! Gorgeous backyard to enjoy my morning coffee. Hoping we can make this our traditional ACL home away from home!
Lovely spot with great amenities. I really enjoyed the proximity to the Alamo Drafthouse, and the ease of grabbing a scooter to get downtown in 9 minutes. The space was charming and on a great street, I highly recommend for anyone thinking of staying in a sterilized hotel down town - this beats that. Oh and they also stocked the place with trail mix, and other snacks which was a lifesaver when running out of the house in the mornings.
The property manager was so sweet, she had communicated very well with us. The neighborhood was so quiet which was surprising to us since it was close to downtown Austin area. The house itself was cute, well kept. We didn’t use the backyard but it was very nice. We had a very nice stay!
The place is very nice but older. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioner had broken just before our arrival, but the host took it upon themselves to get a portable into the room, and it worked fine!
It is literally 3 blocks from the entrance to Ziegler. And its well enough built that you don't hear the crowd or music noise.
The stove/oven is an antique, so be aware of the hot pilot light in the center.
As advertised and close to great food and music, as well as to the park space at Barton Springs. Easy access. We will be back next visit to Austin! The home is sparely furnished in 60's decor and tile work, but comfortable with a huge picture window, functional kitchen, comfy bed, and good hanging storage for clothes. If you want elegance and marble bathrooms, go to Hilton, but this suited us fine.
We stayed here for 4 nights during ACL and the location could not have been better. It was an easy walk to Zilker Park, the studio was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower water pressure was amazing. The host was friendly and the beverages in the fridge were a thoughtful touch. The backyard and pool area looked cute, although we did not use them. There are a few things future guests may want to know. We arrived late at night and the porch light was off, making it hard to see the address, lockbox, and door. It was also not clear which switches controlled the lights once inside. The door lock stuck easily throughout our stay and the fan and light remote only work if certain switches are on, which was not originally explained. The curtains let in a lot of light in the morning, so be aware if you prefer to sleep in the dark. We heard loud neighborhood noise around 2 a.m. on the first night and some construction noise next door on Friday morning. The A/C also had trouble keeping a consistent temperature day and night. Lastly, the base of the bed sticks out past the mattress and we bumped our shins a few times.Overall, the studio has a lot going for it, especially the walkability, cleanliness, and comfort. With clearer instructions, better lighting on arrival, improved curtains, and an easier door lock, the stay would be even better. We still enjoyed our weekend and appreciated the friendly host.
