The Country Manor of Glenn is perfectly situated in Glenn, Michigan, between South Haven (10 miles south) and Saugatuck (6 miles north). Country Manor is a historic home nestled among acres of private woods, pines and paths. The house is 750 ft from Lake Michigan and has approx. 90 steps to the beach.

We have 165 feet of beautiful sandy, private beach on Lake Michigan,(house does not overlook the lake .....it sits back 750 feet from the top of the bluff) 5 BR, 2 BA, Central Air conditioning, Large eat-in country kitchen, Living room, Screened in front porch, Gas Barbeque Grill, Flat Screen TV with DVD player.

Bed Linens are provided. You will need to bring your own bath and beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas.

Perfect gathering place for “old friends”

We were a group of 6 friends who went to school together since 1st grade, all turning 75 this year, and this comfy older cottage was perfect for us. With 2 bedrooms & a bath on the main floor & 3 more bedrooms & a full bath upstairs, we could make sure everyone’s mobility needs could be accommodated. A large living room with lots of comfy seating, a wonderful kitchen table for meals, & a great table on the porch for cards made this a perfect place for us. Location is fantastic & Cindy was a terrific host who helped us feel right at home. We all loved being together here where we felt so at home!

OUTSTANDING!!!

Our host Cindy and her family were very gracious and accommodating. When we first met her when we arrived, Cindy filled us in about the house and property , and how to leverage all the great amenities that came with the rental. From the beach access and robust fire pit, our clan had many great hours of swimming, exercising and chatting fireside till the wee hours of the morning. We will be back ,

Beautiful property

Spacious and a little aged

This is a nice location on Lake Michigan, although beach access is 100+ yards on a nice wooded trail. The beach steps are on another family property so, although they are very accommodating folks, this is not the private beach access I had expected. The house is old as are a lot of the furnishings and decor. Not a big deal for us and fairly represented on the photos. The bathroom door doesn't lock - seems like that would be an easy fix to change the door knob. The house easily accommodated our large group with large living spaces and a large dining table. The WiFi is DSL and was very unreliable. Cellular service from 3 providers was spotty upstairs and unreliable downstairs - consider yourself mostly off the grid at this property. Cindy is lovely and left us to ourselves. Access to South Haven and Saugatuck is fantastic.

Older house, great location

The house is a great location and price. Pros: Close to the beach House is big Cute town Owner is communicative Fire pit, great grill Cute front and back porches Cons/tips: The upstairs is very hot because the house is old and the AC doesn’t work up there very well There is a bit of a walk to the beach and the stairs are steep - there are over 90!! The house is dated There is not much in the house - no towels, coffee, spices, paper towels, etc. Not a huge issue but plan accordingly! Some of the beds were uncomfortable and most are full sized not queen Check for ticks! We got tons sitting outside it’s the woods. The WiFi barely works and you will not get service out there. No washer and dryer you have to go into town that was unclear from the listing. Overall we loved our stay! Affordable but there were some accommodations we had to make to be comfortable. Would stay again!

Peaceful girls getaway

This property was beautiful, clean, and spacious! Such great outdoor space including beautiful beachfront, a firepit, and picnic tables! More than 15 minutes from Saugatuck but it was an easy drive. Host was also very kind and responsive with my questions. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Excellent Stay!

We were in town for our niece’s wedding in South Haven. The spacious house was perfect for our family to gather, stay and host dinners for a few out of town friends and family. Kitchen was well stocked, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Cindy, the owner, was amazing and always prompt in answering any questions. We highly recommend the country manor!

Great Family Vacation

This home provides ample room for four generations to enjoy quality time together. The location is on a quiet road in the country, yet it is an easy drive to several towns for activities. The view of Lake Michigan after a short walk is fantastic—amazing sunsets! The owners of the property are also very accommodating. All in all, this was a perfect family getaway.

Wonderful, relaxing weekend.

Great house for a long weekend with family. Spacious, comfortable, and clean. Kitchen had all of the necessities. Easy drive to both South Haven and Saugatuck. Lovely walk to the lake with beautiful sunsets.

Beautiful house by the lake!

I couldn't be happier with our stay! The house was clean, inviting and absolutely charming! My friends and I had the best time enjoying the house and spent so much time in the large kitchen area talking, cooking, playing games and having "family" dinners. Each bedroom was thoughtfully decorated, warm and inviting. The owner of the house was gracious, kind and very responsive. We loved staying here!

relaxing hangout

The women in my family stayed here for a long weekend getaway. We loved the privacy and coziness of the house. We had plenty of room, both to gather as a group and to find places of our own when we needed a few minutes to ourselves. When we texted or called Cindy with questions, she answered immediately. I was worried about the stairs to the beach--I knew the grandmas in the group probably wouldn't be able to handle them. But there are five Adirondack chairs at the top of the stairs with a lovely view. While the younger women in the group enjoyed the beach, the older women hung out in the chairs and enjoyed the water from there. We would definitely recommend the Country Manor.

Family vac at the Manor

Three generations of my family spent a great week there. Sleeping arrangements worked well for the diverse group and the variety of living spaces allowed for both “all hands” gatherings and separate spaces where people could gather in smaller groups. Kitchen was well supplied with cooking and eating utensils. The secluded location afforded ample privacy while having easy access to bars and restaurants in South Haven and Saugatuck. Great area for joggers and bicyclists. Nearby general store small but stocked with all essentials. Only negative was no washer and dryer, and no nearby laundromat. Owners were very welcoming and seemed happy to have guests

Excellent stay in a lovely home

My friends and I have been coming to this property for years and we always enjoy it. The owners recently installed new stairs leading to the beach. They went from a classic cottage wooden staircase to a clean sturdy aluminum staircase; it was a nice upgrade. Thanks Again!

Perfect getaway on Lake Michigan

Had a girls getaway long weekend at the Country Manor and had a great experience. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean. The communication from the host was spot on. There is plenty of room for a dozen people to stay comfortably. I would definitely rent this place again!

Quaint with nice private beach

The house is great, the location is great (minutes from Saugatuck), private beach is great. The only reason I give this less than 5 stars is that there should be a warning in all caps about the stairs down to the beach. The stairs are NOT user friendly. There are 90 steps; no landings and they are in BAD shape. Many of the treads don't even look like they're connected and several of the stairs are at a drastic slope. I would not recommend them for smaller children, older folks, or anyone with any kind of physical challenges.

We had a wonderful time here! Spacious and lovely home with lots of yard space and woods for the kids to enjoy. Short walk to the steps to the beach. Was wonderful to have access to the beach and Lake Michigan without having to drive! Would stay here again!

Had a blast

We had 10 people at the house and still had plenty of room. The sun sets were beautiful. The kids swam at the beach while we went exploring. The owner stopped by and was very nice.

Wonderful family vacation stay!

We had a lovely time staying at this beautiful property for our family vacation. It was so nostalgic to come back to this same house after 20+ years with our own children. It was just the same as back then, with a beautiful yard and a small beach on the lake to relax and for the children to play in the sand. Both bathrooms have been updated and the house is clean and roomy. Cindy is a wonderful host and was so very attentive to any of our calls or questions about the home. We’ll definitely be back again!

Ideal place for family reunion

Spacious farmhouse with large yard, swings and fire pit, very private, access to beach, and close to many other beaches including West Side Park and Oval Beach, which has been listed as one of the best beaches in America. The house had great places to hang out, including a lovely porch, board games available that we all enjoyed and comfortable beds with lots of pillows. The house was sparkling clean and very tidy with lots of places to store and put away our belongings. Cindy was very responsive to our requests, and kind about our breaking the coffee pot! We had a fantastic family reunion in a beautiful setting.

family getaway

We had a terrific long family weekend! The house is wonderful - lots of room inside and out. We enjoyed games in the family room, fires in the fire pit, playing on the beach, and gorgeous sunsets. The house is in a quiet, private location but also close to other activities - we went into Grand Haven and Saugatuck. Cindy and Paul are excellent hosts - very helpful and responsive. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, beach getaway.
