About this property
Hillside ADK Log Cabin with beautiful Schroon Lake views - 5 minutes to village!
Relax and enjoy your vacation at our log cabin overlooking Schroon Lake. The quaint village of Schroon Lake with great restaurants, shopping, a pristine public beach and boat launching area is a 5-minute drive from the cabin. This is the perfect spot to set up base and explore all that the Adirondacks have to offer.
The cabin is nestled on a hillside with panoramic views overlooking beautiful Schroon Lake. Enjoy the privacy of the 2-acre property and surrounding hiking trails right off of the property.
The cabin was built in 2017 and has modern amenities, yet still has the cozy feeling of an authentic Adirondack log cabin. The large deck on the main level looks out over Schroon Lake and the view is amazing! There is a table and chairs with an umbrella and a propane grill. The living area on the first floor boasts a vaulted ceiling with tons of natural light from the many windows. The living area opens up to the kitchen and dining area so everyone can stay connected and enjoy their time together. The lake views from this area are so beautiful! The first floor has two bedrooms - one with two twin beds and the other with one queen bed.
There is a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo on this level. Upstairs, you will find the loft area with a queen-size futon and a small TV with Roku for streaming & a DVD player - there are also board games, puzzles and DVDs. There is a catwalk off the loft that overlooks the first floor below and takes you out to the upper-level deck. This is the perfect place for your morning coffee overlooking the lake or gazing at the stars and constellations at night. On this level, you will find the third bedroom with a king bed, as well as the second bathroom with a corner shower. There is a full basement with game area (ping-pong, darts, air hockey, foosball, poker table), two comfy couches, a 65' TV with Roku for streaming, as well as a washer & dryer.
After a fun-filled day exploring the Adirondacks, come back to your private log cabin. Relax on one of the two decks overlooking the lake. Enjoy the evening roasting marshmallows at the lean-to with a firepit and log benches. Enjoy a movie or board game in the loft. Head down to the basement for a game of ping pong, air hockey, foosball, darts or poker; or stream a show on the 65' TV with Roku. Relax, enjoy and make memories!
There are so many things to do in Schroon Lake and the surrounding areas: Seagle Festival, Schroon Lake Public Beach, Schroon Lake Boathouse concerts, Scaroon Manor State Park, Paradox Brewery Tour, Fort Ticonderoga, Lake George, Schroon Stone Bridge and Caves, Gore Mountain, trout fishing on Schroon River and so much more!
Love to hike? The Schroon Lake area offers numerous hiking trails - Mount Severance, Pharoah Lake Wilderness Area, Gull Pond, Crane Pond and so many more. You can also follow the hiking trail right off of the cabin property.
Get out on the beautiful, crystal-clear 9-mile lake - kayak, paddleboard, boat, swim, fish. The nearby Schroon Lake Marina has boats, kayaks and paddleboards available to rent.
About the town:
Schroon Lake is a year-round vacation paradise. The village is a 5-minute drive from the cabin and has restaurants, churches, antique shops, souvenir shops, and an original art-deco movie theater. There is also a Tops grocery store and a Stewart's convenience shop/gas station.
There are many activities nearby – hiking, mountain biking, golfing, tennis, swimming at the pristine beach, great fishing, biking, rafting, sailing and much more.
There are events for the whole family – an old-fashioned 4th of July parade, Adirondack Folk Festival, Arts and Crafts Fairs, Farmer's Market, Strawberry Festival, Square Dances, Boathouse Concerts, Plays and Operas. Check out the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce website for a schedule of summer events!
***Important Notes***
*Linens (sheets/pillowcases) and bath towels can be provided upon request during the summer season. Off-season, please bring your own linens and towels.
*The driveway is gravel with a steep hill to reach the cabin. Sometimes the tires can spin on vehicles when fully loaded and driving slowly. The best solution is to maintain a brisk speed to the top. AWD/4WD vehicles are recommended.
*Please park boats, trailers, etc. on the right side across from the propane tank near the bottom of the hill prior to going to top of hill where the cabin is. (Boats can be launched at the public dock in the village 5 minutes from the cabin.)
*The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 people in the 3 bedrooms. There is a futon in the loft area that will sleep an additional two people, but please note this is in a common area of the cabin and offers no privacy, storage, etc. 8 people (including children) is the absolute max allowed at the cabin due to space and septic tank capacity.
*There is a Blink doorbell camera on the deck facing the driveway that you will see when you come up the steps onto the deck. Please note that this is for property security purposes only and is not actively monitored/doorbell is not answered.
*The indoor fireplace is not for guest use. There is an outdoor firepit located by the lean-to in front of the cabin.
*Please ensure you leave by 10:30am on check-out day to allow our cleaning service to enter and begin preparing for our next guests. Please do not arrive prior to 4pm on check-in day.
*There is satellite internet/wifi; it can be slow at times or out of service because of weather; cellular service is great!
*Both TVs are set-up for streaming via Roku.
*The cabin is available with Saturday check-in/check-out during the summer season; shorter stays are available off-season.

About the host
Hosted by Stacey & Tom Dalton

Hello! We are from the Jersey Shore and we bought this cabin in the Fall of 2022.
What makes this property unique
The cabin offers privacy but is also close enough to the village so we don't feel like we're too off the grid. It gives you the "cabin feel", but was built in 2017 so has the modern amenities we enjoy. We love being able to walk off the back of the property onto hiking trails. The Schroon Lake view never gets old and changes throughout the seasons. The stars at night are like nothing we've ever seen before! The residents of Schroon Lake are so friendly and welcoming. There is so much to do and places to explore in the Adirondacks and our cabin is the perfect homebase.
