Tyler was an excellent host, very responsive and gave some great recs! The tiny home is in a private, quiet area with a beautiful view. It was perfect for a long weekend trip for 2 people. It’s close to Stowe (about a 20 minute drive) and you get some amazing views of the mountains on the way there. Hot tub was a huge plus!

Beautiful, dog-friendly location

Lovely modern tiny house tucked close to a pristine river, not far from lots of scenic hiking trails, restaurants, breweries, and shopping. We stayed a week and loved it.

The cabin and property was magical! The description of the property gave us the impression that you could walk on a trail from the property to Dog Head Falls, which was not the case. It is less than a 10 minute drive, and totally worth it, but we were a little disappointed we could not walk there from the property.

The stay was just right for us. Although the collection of cabins seemed quite booked up it was peaceful and relaxing with private, quiet space for everyone. The loft does not have much clearance, but we are short and likened it to not having standing room in a tent. The listing said oven, but it is a microwave oven (no convection), there are 2 burners that worked well and we used the gas bbq grill.Convenient location still a quick drive to Stowe and other towns. Host communication was great and everything worked nicely for us!

Uncommon Accommodations

Tyler was helpful and the little house was nice. Be aware that the hot tub is SHARED, the deck for unit 2 is the only deck not accessible directly from the house and the advertised fireplace is disconnected except in the winter/snow. It was 36° and rainy when we stayed and we couldn’t warm the place with the fireplace. Tyler said the heater should be enough, it was not. Although the house was nice it appeared to be poorly constructed with large gaps around the outlets and wires showing. The on demand hot water required frequent, extended periods of ice cold water in between the bursts of hot water. I’ve never used an on demand hot water system so this may be typical. Overall it’s fine for a private place to stay, just not exceptional.

Just stop looking! This is the place to be. Tyler’s entire business of Uncommon Accomodations is amazing. It’s not far from Stowe, Smugglers Notch, the town of Johnson is super cute. You can tell he put a lot of time and pride into these tiny homes and where they are located is just beautiful. It’s a great way to experience Vermont. Our stay was very comfortable for the fall foliage, we definitely want to come back during ski season.

About the host

Host profile image
We’re Vermont-based hosts who love creating unique places for people to unplug, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Our properties are designed to be memorable stays — cozy, thoughtfully built, and connected to nature — whether you’re visiting for adventure, relaxation, or a little of both. We enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling, and discovering special places ourselves, and we try to bring that same sense of care and attention to every guest experience. Our goal is simple: provide clean, comfortable, one-of-a-kind spaces and be responsive, friendly hosts so you can focus on enjoying your trip.

Why they chose this property

We chose this spot because it captures some of the best parts of northern Vermont in one place — mountain views, river access, and easy proximity to Stowe and the Green Mountains. The area feels peaceful and tucked into nature, yet it’s just a short drive to great hiking, skiing, local breweries, and the small-town charm of Johnson village. What we love most is how the neighborhood balances quiet seclusion with adventure: you can spend the day exploring trails or the mountains and come back to relax by the river under the stars. It’s a perfect home base for experiencing Vermont year-round.

What makes this property unique

Our property offers a rare blend of boutique luxury and immersive nature on a private 14-acre riverfront retreat in Vermont’s Green Mountains. Guests stay in a designer tiny house with direct access to over 2,000 feet of frontage on the Lamoille River, including swimming holes, river beaches, and a scenic on-site waterfall. The signature experience is our elevated treehouse barrel sauna paired with a year-round outdoor hot tub, creating a spa-like escape surrounded by forest and mountain views.

Uncommon Accommodations is designed as a curated retreat rather than a typical vacation rental. The setting feels peaceful and secluded, yet it’s minutes from Stowe, Smugglers’ Notch, and some of Vermont’s best skiing, hiking, breweries, and outdoor recreation. Guests enjoy modern comfort, thoughtful design, and premium amenities while being fully immersed in nature.

It’s ideal for travelers seeking a memorable, upscale getaway — a private riverside setting where you can soak, unwind, and reconnect with nature without sacrificing convenience or style.
