About this property

Designer A-Frame Treehouse with hot tub on river

Escape to a one-of-a-kind luxury A-frame treehouse at Uncommon Accommodations, a boutique collection of unique stays on a 14-acre riverside retreat along Vermont's beautiful Lamoille River, just minutes from Stowe and Smugglers' Notch.

Perched among the trees and reached by a private footbridge, this architect-designed A-frame offers the feeling of a secluded treehouse without sacrificing modern comfort. Thoughtfully designed by local architect Raymond Boutin and handcrafted by master builder Todd Miller, the home features warm maple veneer walls, exposed Douglas fir beams, Brazilian hardwood floors, and expansive windows that immerse you in the surrounding forest.

Inside, you'll find a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom, cozy loft bedroom, indoor fireplace, roll-down projector for movie nights, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, and a private deck where you can relax beneath the trees with the sounds of the river below.

Your stay includes access to our collection of shared resort-style amenities designed to make your getaway truly memorable. Soak in the year-round six-person hot tub, unwind in the treehouse barrel sauna, prepare dinner in the outdoor kitchen featuring a BBQ grill, pizza oven, sink, prep space, and covered dining area, or gather around the riverside fire pit as the sun sets.

Spend your days exploring more than 2,000 feet of Lamoille River frontage, swimming in crystal-clear swimming holes, discovering nearby Dog's Head Falls, or wandering wooded trails throughout the property. Whether you're visiting for fall foliage, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, or simply a quiet weekend away, the A-frame provides a peaceful and unforgettable retreat.

Although your treehouse is completely private, it is part of Uncommon Accommodations, a thoughtfully designed collection of unique stays that share the outdoor amenities. The expansive property offers plenty of room to spread out, and the shared spaces are typically quiet and uncrowded.

Perfect for couples, honeymooners, and anyone seeking a memorable escape, this luxury treehouse combines exceptional design, boutique hospitality, and Vermont's natural beauty into an experience unlike anywhere else.

We’re Vermont-based hosts who love creating unique places for people to unplug, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Our properties are designed to be memorable stays — cozy, thoughtfully built, and connected to nature — whether you’re visiting for adventure, relaxation, or a little of both. We enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling, and discovering special places ourselves, and we try to bring that same sense of care and attention to every guest experience. Our goal is simple: provide clean, comfortable, one-of-a-kind spaces and be responsive, friendly hosts so you can focus on enjoying your trip.

Why they chose this property

We chose this spot because it captures some of the best parts of northern Vermont in one place — mountain views, river access, and easy proximity to Stowe and the Green Mountains. The area feels peaceful and tucked into nature, yet it’s just a short drive to great hiking, skiing, local breweries, and the small-town charm of Johnson village. What we love most is how the neighborhood balances quiet seclusion with adventure: you can spend the day exploring trails or the mountains and come back to relax by the river under the stars. It’s a perfect home base for experiencing Vermont year-round.

What makes this property unique

Our A-frame is designed to feel like a true Vermont escape — a cozy, modern cabin surrounded by nature, with big windows that bring the outdoors in. The architecture itself is part of the experience, with soaring ceilings, warm wood finishes, and a comfortable, thoughtfully designed interior that feels both rustic and refined. Guests also enjoy shared amenities like river access and a hot tub, adding a touch of relaxation after a day of exploring the Green Mountains or nearby Stowe. What really sets the property apart is the balance of seclusion and convenience: it feels private and immersed in nature, yet it’s close to some of the best outdoor recreation, dining, and small-town charm Vermont has to offer.
