Cool 1920s Spanish house updated with a touch of class to accommodate today's lifestyle, old-fashioned in all the right places, modern where you need it. With tons of charm and character, this home is shaded by iconic 100-year old California oak trees.. Hardwood floors and custom tile throughout. 3 bedrooms (king, queen and twins) each bedroom with a walk-in closet. 2 full baths. Fully furnished living room with reclining sofa, big screen smart TV, and fireplace. The dining room features a wild edge dining table with seating for 8 and French doors that open to catch the ocean breezes. The fully equipped modern kitchen has stainless appliances and a 50's diner themed breakfast nook. Enjoy a Sunday al fresco brunch, BBQ or 5 o'clock happy hour around the patio table on the terra cotta-paved deck, or kick back in the Adirondak-style easy chairs. The laundry room is equipped with full-size washer and dryer. The 2-car garage is accessible through a private back entrance. Bring your bicycles and pedal the half-mile or so to the bike path along the beach. Well-located within walking and bicycle distance to Downtown and Midtown amenities including theaters, parks, the beach, restaurants and the Downtown walk-street shopping area. No smoking. High speed internet and DirecTV (187 channels with almost all sports networks) with HBO and Showtime. We're okay with most pets. Ventura STVR Permit#2447

Wonderful House

Our family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful 1926 home. There were a few funky things because of it.the age but they were more than made up for by the large rooms, unique beauty, and well-stocked supplies. Great, quiet location and nice host, too.

Well equipped and lovely character

Very nice, on a street of lovely spanish style houses, and you can just see the ocean, from the patio. We were able to cook a big hiday dinner but had to bring a few pans and serving dishes from home. Fireplace and a nearby park were also great. Excellent hosts..

Great location and beautiful home

The house had beautiful design and architecture, along with functional and elegant furniture. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed. There was a nice enclosed yard for our dogs and ample parking on the premises. Even our family who came to visit us for the weekend commented on renting there again sometime to get together. The house was in a great location, not far from downtown and the beach. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Home away from home

We took a family vacation to Ventura and stayed at Mark’s home. It was a truly memorable experience. Mark’s home is lovely and clean and very inviting. But most of all, he and his family were so warm, we instantly felt welcome to their home and community. We had a great beach vacation with three generations under one roof. We would definitely return to his home if we find ourselves in Ventura again. Highly recommend!

Cool Breeze Bike Ride

Mark's property is just as described a charming 1920's Spanish style house. We had three couples in our group. The men road in the Cool Breeze Bike ride. We loved the house and all of the attention to detail. It was clean and well equipped. We hope it is available again next year

This house was a fantastic find!!!

Mark and his family greeted us as we arrived and gave us a tour of the house. This home is warm and cozy, and gives everyone space, perfect for my family. It is close to Ventura downtown, the shopping and restaurants. Plus, it’s a short drive to the beach. My family couldn’t ask for more. It had everything we needed. Mark is a great host and was available for all our questions. Thanks for a great stay and we hope to return in the future!

Overall great stay. Clean, comfortable, good communication.Two heads up for folks: Reminder it has no AC. Should be fine most days in Ventura, but we did have to blast fans on some very hot days as these old homes can retain heat. Also, heads up that the top window sashes (because they are older) will immediately slide down when you unlock them. We did that to get breezes going and one of us got a finger really smashed up. All is well but word of caution! Almost happened to me too.All said, would definitely return. This home is so nice and the owner is very friendly. Thank you!

Great Family Gather & Play Location

Everything about this home was great and perfectly set up for family. Each couple had their own room, and there was plenty of great communal areas inside and on the patio. The giant dining table was great for games and meals and the cozy kitchen nook for quiet morning chats over coffee for the early risers. Mark was great with communicating and super accommodating. When we had a couple of needs he was quick to respond and even loaned us an extra pizza stone from his place. The kitchen has modern appliances so cooking was great and the bbq was big enough to cook lots of carne asada & veggies. All the beds were very comfortable and the decor was nice as well. Location wise we were able to walk across the street to a small market, up the hill to watch gorgeous sunset views from the local park, and less than a mile to all the fun shops in town. We also walked to the beach and back a few times since it was less than a mile from the house to the pier. I highly recommend this place!

Great Stay

This home is exactly what we were looking for! Spacious, clean, and great location! We were walking distance to a nice park, across the street from a grocery store and a few blocks away from some delicious restaurants! The check in process was easy! Thanks again for the stay!
