My family and I had a 9 day stay for a wedding. Great location for us. Was right in the middle of everything we needed it to be. The back yard has an amazing view of the lake and an awesome fire pit! Ab, the host, was awesome. Very accommodating. We talked a bit and I got the history of the property and surrounding area. Was great talking with him. I would definitely recommend checking it out!
AB is very kind and answered all questions, We enjoyed the lake and the kids had a blast swimming. We went to the dune rides and Lake Michigan also. We enjoyed our time!!

My kids, sister and I had a great time here. The cottage is older but has a super homey feel to it which I love. There is a lot of yard to play in and a sandy beach area also. We loved that they had a row boat with a trolling motor on it to go fishing. The owner, AB, stays next door. He was very nice and responsive to anything we needed. Just overall a nice place for us. I would definitely stay there if we are in the area.

Disliked: Check-in, listing accuracy
Not as advertised
I must say that AB was so courteous and kind. Truly. That being said, the house was sandwiched between the host and his daughter's family. The beach is their backyard and there was little to no privacy. The oven took 4 hours on broil to slightly warm up our pizza, the dishwasher was broken, and only one burner worked properly on the stove. I spent more time doing dishes and trying to cook than I do at home NOT on a vacation. We booked the house months in advance and the host still scheduled a tree service company to remove multiple trees beginning at 7:45, waking all 4 kids during our preplanned stay. There was no mention of this and was inconsiderate. We couldn't even let the kids play outside for fear a log would be dropped on them. The house also had a very old musty smell that triggered our 4 year olds asthma drastically. It was nice having access to their kayaks and john boat, but everything else just really turned us off.

Rebecca,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your kind words about AB's courtesy and kindness; we're happy to hear that aspect of your stay was positive.
We're sorry to learn about the challenges you faced during your stay. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the proximity of the house to the host's family; we understand the importance of privacy and will explore options to enhance this aspect for future guests.
We appreciate your patience with the kitchen appliances, and we're sorry for the frustration caused by the oven, dishwasher, and stove. We have since replaced the dishwasher and completed a thorough exam of the oven and stovetop to ensure it is fully functional for future guests.
Regarding the tree service, we sincerely apologize for the disruption to your planned stay. This oversight on our part was unintentional, and we will be more diligent in coordinating such activities in the future to avoid inconveniences.
The musty smell and its impact on your child's asthma are concerning. We conducted a thorough inspection and took extra measures to ensure a fresher environment for our guests.
On a positive note, we're glad you enjoyed access to the kayaks and john boat. We value your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to improve your overall experience in the future.
We wish we could have addressed these issues to make your stay a more enjoyable experience but we were not notified of any shortcomings until reading this review. Our guests experience is extremely important to us and we encourage all guests to contact us if any problems arise or if you need anything during your stay as we are happy to help in any way possible.
Please consider returning, and we'll make every effort to provide a more enjoyable stay. If you have any further details or suggestions, feel free to share. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
