About this property

Walk to State Park trails! Drive 18 minutes to new World Heritage Site! +hot tub

Stay, play, and relax! Named for the nearby Sugarloaf Mountain where the famous Tecumseh's Outdoor Drama is located, this modern tiny house cabin is situated on a hillside enclosed by forest. Surround yourself with trees and the beauty of nature while staying in the industrial farmhouse style Sugarloaf Hillside cabin, built one year ago. Enjoy your private view of the woods and stars from the new hot tub on the expansive deck. Great hiking and biking trails with amazing ridge-top views on both sides are just a few minutes walk up the road to the Great Seal State Park. Sugarloaf Hillside is also just a short 8 minute drive from the popular Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama and 12-15 minutes away from popular restaurants, bowling, and other attractions in Chillicothe. American Indian mound sites are within a 15-20 minute drive to the Hopewell Culture National Historical Park, which is a new UNESCO World Heritage Site. Several state parks are located within a 40 minute drive, including Hocking Hills, Tar Hollow, and Pike Lake. Bring your kayaks and fishing poles for the nearby secluded Ross Lake, 10 minutes away. On those too-cold-to-be-outside winter days, Chillicothe's Mighty Children's Museum, Shawnee Lanes Bowling, and Na zdravie Winery are a short 15 minutes away.
The Sugarloaf Hillside cabin has an open floor plan with combined kitchen, dining, and lounging, as well as a separate first-floor bedroom and bathroom down the hall. The cabin also has two fun sleeping lofts accessible by ladders, both with plush queen beds, and great for kids. 17 windows let in tons of light and allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the woods on all sides of the cabin. It's the perfect getaway for families!
Sugarloaf Hillside is well stocked with everything you'll need for a relaxing stay, including toiletries, bedding, towels, coffee, and kitchen essentials. Wifi is also included and connected to a smart TV with streaming apps Prime, Hulu, and Disney+. A charging station with a variety of charging cord types is available. Alexa via an Echo Dot is awaiting your questions!
Outside you'll find a brick fire pit with circular patio seating surrounding it, as well as a small gas grill for outdoor cooking. Next to the hot tub, two chaise loungers are waiting for you to soak up some sun and relax on the deck! Pull up one of the four stools to the deck railing and enjoy a cold drink or your morning coffee while listening to the birds and spying deer or turkeys if you're lucky.
Enjoy family bonding with games! Several board games are included for those lazy afternoons or rainy days. A giant Connect 4 and outdoor cornhole set are also available.
Four-wheel drive is recommended when there is snow/ice on the roads. The road to the cabin and driveway may not be plowed when it snows.
Open lofts and ladders may not be safe for young children.
Outdoor motion-activated security camera on front porch only.
This cabin is equipped with a rain-catchment system as the main water supply. Please bring bottled water for drinking. A filtered water pitcher is provided for guest use.
No hunting on the property.

Perfection
We stayed as a home base for visiting all of the Hopewell mound builders sites and Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Sugarloaf was modern, comfortable, clean and private. We loved everything about it. It was perfect.

Amazing getaway
My friends and I decided that we needed a get away, it was the best time spending time away from our jobs and enjoying nature. We saw all kind of wildlife and the store were amazing. The hot tub was fantastic as well. We enjoyed s’mores on the fireplace but the mornings were the best hearing all the wildlife around you. Will be back!

Joy
If I had known the location I probably wouldn’t have booked the reservation, however part of the issue was the road closure. The cabin was more than excellent, confusing internet, so we could not call out. I was very concerned, my wife has been very I’ll, but we decided to try it rather then cancel, but I was worried if she got sicker and I need help, I could figure out how to call for help. Well she got along fine, but still concerned. Other than that we enjoyed our short stay, left early Wednesday night as it’s only an hour away so I could get an early start on some projects I am working on.

Our family loves the outdoors! We frequently visit state and national parks to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. We built this cabin next to a state park because of our affection for the Great Seal and Hocking Hills state parks. Our hope is for our family, friends, and guests to enjoy this property and the surrounding areas for generations to come.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is newly built and everything is brand new!
Sugarloaf Hillside is nestled in the woods next to a state park, but also within 15 minutes to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.

What makes this property unique

Walk just a few minutes up the road to catch the main hiking/biking trail of Great Seal State Park.
Super close to Tecumseh! The Outdoor Drama - Instead of driving home late at night, stay at our cabin just 8 minutes away.
