About this property

Cabin 2 - The Perch at Twin Peaks

Modern elegance meets rustic charm in this beautifully reimagined Twin Peaks Cabin. Cabin 2 has a King bed in the larger bedroom and a set of bunk beds in the small bedroom. The living room has a couch and two cushy arm chairs and a large dining area. The bathroom has a shower and the small kitchen which has the basics you'll need if you're cooking and eating in.
The Cabin is off Resort Loop, behind some trees facing CA 189. Pull right up to your cabin and park. It has a small porch and you can pull up onto the ground and park right in front of the cabin. As long as there are no private events, you are welcome to roam the property which is on 4.5 acres behind the cabin.

When you rent a cabin in the woods, you'll be sharing the mountain with the creatures who call it home. Although we do everything we reasonably can to keep ants and spiders away, it's not unusual to find these or other little woodland visitors, despite our best efforts. If a sterile type, bug-free environment is what you're looking for, a mountain cabin probably isn't the right fit. But if you want fresh air, towering trees, star-filled skies, and the peaceful magic of the forest, The Perch is perfect. Thank you for embracing mountain life with us!

Nice cabin

Nice. Parking is a muddy mess in the rain but otherwise nice cabin. Heather in second bedroom is melted and smokes while running, I’d suggest replacing, we unplugged as soon as we noticed.

The Perch is owned by a family that had a vision of how special this property was. We love the mountain area and were excited to create something really special here.

The cabins were built in the 30's, and it was one of the earliest resorts in the area, called Mile High Resorts. But it had fallen into disrepair by the time we bought the property in late 2018. We spent the next year upgrading the property and restoring the cabins in an exciting and stylish way. We opened up at the end of 2019.

Why they chose this property

People love The Perch because of its simple and quiet beauty. The many writers that visit The Perch comment on the serenity of the space. It seems completely remote but it is actually near to restaurants, supermarkets and shopping.

Each cabin is unique, with eclectic, stylish furnishings and quality linens. The Perch gives you the opportunity to truly get away and disconnect, there are no TVs or jacuzzis -- there aren't even roads or driveways and the cabins have no addresses. So we invite you to uplug, and get down to work, or just relax and reflect in a distraction free space.

The Perch is a great place to come with a group. We have a barn and both indoor and outdoor fireplaces there, which is great for workshops, meals, yoga, etc. Ask us if you're thinking of having a retreat or reunion, let us know.

What makes this property unique

The Perch has 12 private cabins each of which was built in the early 30s. We have maintained the integrity of the original structures and reimagined the interiors so that it's pretty rustic and simple yet stylish and comfy.

Each cabin is unique, with eclectic, stylish furnishings and quality linens. The Perch gives you the opportunity to truly get away and disconnect, Get back to a simple life where there are no microwaves, TVs or jacuzzis -- there aren't even roads or driveways and the cabins have no addresses. Instead, you'll have the forest, a large flat open field and lots of nature around you to explore. We are close to hikes, parasailing, off-roading, winter sports, and lakes. Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire 4.5-acre property.

The Perch is on over 4 acres of land (behind the cabin) and you're free to roam around. If you'd like to use the BBQs or outdoor fireplace, please check with us. The Perch has a large flat central field (unusual on the mountain) and is surrounded by trees. We are set in an otherwise residential zone so there are a few houses nearby. Although it feels very remote, we are walking distance of a convenience store, The Grill (excellent restaurant), The Twin Peaks Farmer's Market (Thursdays), Pine Rose, Pine Crest and The Rotary Club, all of which are off 189.

The Perch is 10 minutes from Lake Gregory (public lake) and 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead. There are three large markets, all 10 minutes away. We're 40 minutes from Big Bear and about 20 minutes from Sky Park (Santa's Workshop). We're about 15 minutes from Running Springs.
