The house is amazing. The cows were a little scary but it was entertaining. This was the perfect location for a first time family getaway. Property Manager was amazing!!!
We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of this place and very relaxing atmosphere. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We did have a great time thanks so much for our first girls trip ever!!!!
This was a great property for our family as we were in town for my sons graduation. Very Roomie with lots of things to do for a family gathering. Host was very attentive!
We had a great time at this beautiful A Frame! We loved the area and all things the house had to offer. Our favorites were the pool table and hot tub! Communication was quick and easy and we would definitely love to stay here in the future. It was just what our family needed. Thank you for an amazing trip!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this A-frame home. The location is stunning and the home provides many different areas for enjoying the views. If you are looking for a restful getaway I can't recommend it more highly. It is away from the rush of daily life but still provides all the amenities you would want. For example, the wifi and streaming services were great. I will be back for sure!
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating a late Christmas with grandkids. The hosts left Christmas decorations up for us and had hot chocolate treats. It was a wonderful AFrame with plenty of room and things to do! Hot tub and fire pit were a huge hit. Hosts were great. We will definitely come back!
My nieces, daughter and I had an amazing time on our weekend stay. It was so peaceful. We loved the pasture and watching the cows. We also loved seeing the river and using the huge screened in porch. Very close to the little town of Bowden. Went in Saturday to the antique shop and found a really fun pottery painting place that is a great place to stop by. Enjoyed the pool table and being able to cook all our meals in the house. Highly recommend and if we are in the area will definitely pick this place to stay at again!!
I cannot say enough amazing things about this property! The owners were so genuine and personal regarding every little detail from booking their home, to everything in between and throughout our stay. They left personal touches throughout the house, like a welcome gift for our son’s birthday, firewood to start the fire pit, a stocked coffee bar, and an amazing waffle bar for breakfast, complete with all the toppings! These little extras are above and beyond and we were so grateful. We enjoyed fishing in the river, sitting around the fire pit together, hot tubbing, having coffee in the mornings on the covered porch, playing games in the evenings, and just being together in this awesome space. The house was clean and the description is exactly what you find in the home. The hosts are excellent and quick communicators. We highly recommend this peaceful home to anyone needing a break from the hustle and bustle of “city life” and we definitely hope to come back in the future. Thank you so much for everything!
From the moment we walked into A-State of Mind, we smelled mildew. The house did not look as if it had been cleaned in between us and the last guests, there was dog hair on the floor and dried on fecal matter on the floor of the dining room. We walked downstairs to the game room, and found black mold on the ceiling, and wall around the doggy door. Inside of the closet under the stairs was covered in black mold. In the master bedroom with the king sized bed, black mold. Under the kitchen sink cabinet, more black mold. And finally, under the bathroom cabinet, more black mold. There was a broken vent in the upstairs loft, and a broken stair light fixture. There was also what appeared to be dried food that had molded inside the upstairs closet. When I went to take a shower, the water was the color of orange juice, and smelled horrible. The hot tub had a terrible odor.
I reached out to the host the next day, and was told they had no idea, and that there was heavy rain that week, so that probably caused the mold.. but if you know anything about black mold, you know that does not happen overnight. Not to mention, I found a 2 gallon jug of “Mold Control” under the kitchen sink.
This house appeals to families with kids, but if you value your children's health? Avoid this stay at all costs. This home needs a full remodel to officially get rid of the mold, and dehumidifiers running at all times, but to cut costs, they refuse to run the AC between guests, leaving the home humid.

Hi Zachary thank you for your feedback. I’d first like to address that we in fact had guests prior to your stay without complaint and the house set empty for approximately 5 days at which time we had a substantial amount of rain which in fact caused the mold issue which we refunded you 100% of your stay for. The $222 (give or take) that wasn’t refunded is the percentage that VRBO takes for their platform cost which I have no control over and that information was shared with you. The property had a quality control check several days prior to your stay which resulted in zero findings. I’d also like to add that setting the air to 78 in the summer isn’t uncommon in this region and most families live daily with that temperature in their home.
Your other complaints were never shared with us and not found when my team came in to rectify the mold issue.
As a mother and healthcare worker I take cleanliness very seriously which is why I offered the full refund immediately upon the receipt of the pictures of the mold along with my profuse apology.
Again, I am sorry your experience was so traumatic. However I did everything in my power to prevent and rectify the situation.
Best luck to you and yours in the future.
