About this property
5515 Tchoupitoulas - 2/1
Located in West Riverside New Orleans neighborhood, this 2-bed, 1-bath vacation rental is equipped with modern furnishings and a full kitchen. Treat your tastebuds to world-renowned cuisine within walking distance of this home before heading out to experience an equally as acclaimed music scene at Tipitina`s. Be sure to take a walk down Magazine Street where you can find great shops and dining!
Both bedrooms have queen mattresses and are the best place for a great nights sleep!
This home is a shotgun style layout, a very traditional style for New Orleans. Please see the floor plan in the photos for a better idea of how the home is laid out. Shotgun style homes like this one have all rooms one behind the other instead of long hallways. In this home, you enter into the living room, then walk through the kitchen, past the bathroom, then into the first bedroom, then into the second bedroom. To access the second bedroom, you must walk through each room in the house, including the first bedroom. Please let us know if you have any other questions about this!
You will have full access to the property with no shared spaces.
I love walking up to Audubon Park and walking right by the Audubon Zoo and seeing the Giraffes. After that you can walk by the stables and then cross Magazine Street through the beautiful park. Our favorite nearby restaurants are: Clancy`s, Patios, Bistro Daisy, Avo, Guy`s Poboy`s, Toast, and St. Joe`s Bar for a blueberry mojito! Whole Foods is just a few blocks away to grab some groceries. Bad habits Barbershop is a great place to get a nice clean cut and fresh face shave or beard trim. On a hot summer day be sure to stop by Pinkberry for frozen yogurt!
There is street parking available. We recommend using Uber or Lyft during your stay. The city also has public transportation such as the streetcar and buses. You can also try Blue Bikes, a ride sharing bike rental all around the city.
** There is a $200 security/damage deposit collected 3 days prior to arrival, and returned shortly after your stay. This is done as a $200 hold on your method of payment, not a full charge. Please see the rental agreement (required to be read and signed before booking) for more details. **

Wonderful house, and conveniently located on Tchoupitoulas, which means conveniently getting everywhere in New Orleans, and finding your way back easily.

We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll come visit us again!
I had a wonderful stay on Tchoupitoulas, everything was very clean and comfortable, and there is the best little bar on the corner that has good live music. Next time I come I will probably try to book the same place.

Thanks so much for your stay! Delighted you had a great experience and found everything just right — we’d be happy to host you again anytime.
It was the perfect place to stay while moving our son into Tulane. Felt like home away from home. We will definitely be returning. Check-in was a breeze and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need including fresh coffee/coffee maker, wine glasses, dishes, and utilities. Such a lovely home.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a good review. You were a wonderful guest. We'd love to have you back - stay in touch and let us know when you plan another trip here!
Wonderful location and retreat space. I liked being in a low key neighborhood after a long day if exploring in the city by rental car that you definitely need due to the distance between Jackson square and the house. Being in walking distance to Whole foods is a great bonus so that we could cook breakfast in the morning then go out later in the afternoon. It was nice to experiment with living like a local. Definitely worth the stay and visit!IVHighlyrecomm

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! It was a pleasure hosting you.
The house is very much as advertised. It’s very close to Audubon Park and a variety of great uptown NOLA restaurants, bars and shops. The layout is a typical “shotgun double” so with adjoining bedrooms so be aware of that. However, it is a lovely and comfortable house. The owner was extremely proactive and responsive.

Thanks so much for the lovely review! So glad you enjoyed your stay.
My wife, son and I stayed here for a visit to see my daughter attending Tulane. The place worked out great for us, & I'd come back. We didn't spend a ton of time at the house, but it was quaint, clean & conveniently located near everything (Tulane, Magazine St., downtown) we wanted to do. There's a supermarket one block away, which was very convenient. David was super responsive and great to work with.

So happy you enjoyed your visit! Thanks for the great review.
This is a very cute and clean property.
The communal living spaces are comfortable and the beds are great.
The layout of the unit gives one a good feeling for typical New Orleans architecture.
It has easy access to a grocery store which is very convenient.
There are great places to eat within walking distance.

Thank you! Hosting you was a pleasure - you were a great guest. We hope to see you again soon!
Having only been to the Big Easy once before, I must admit I was a bit reticent of returning for a three week stretch of time. It's never easy to leave your home, especially if it is for a protracted period of time

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we hope you'll come visit us again!
The location was perfect for our purposes. We were close to other family members. It turned out to be quiet and close to Winn Dixie and close to Frankie and Johnny’s. Delicious food. The location is close to Audubon Park and the zoo as well as the park along the river. There are restaurants and shops within walking distance on magazine Street. There were glitches with checking in. I’m not sure if it was my phone not working or an issue with Vrbo. When I called Vrbo, they quickly gotten in touch with the property owner who got us the information we needed quickly.
