we didn't stay; this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. After checking in the place did not look so well made. There were crumbs on the bedding, water on the bathroom counter like somebody was just using it. All the cleaning supplies was mixed with towels and overall did not look good to stay for a week. I messaged the host right away about the concerns and at first, he seems to be understanding. He agreed to give us a full refund if we can check out right now, which we did. However, he then failed to follow through on his end by not contacting Vrbo to cancel the reservation and saying that WE need to cancel the reservation in order for him to not be penalized and get new bookings for the week. (this is the host's responsibility per Vrbo policy), I called the customer service since he threatens to charge us when we are physically not there anymore. We wouldn't get our money back from him if we didn't call to Vrbo customer service. Not only that, the Vrbo agent had to call the host to tell him that we as a guest couldn't cancel, they couldn't cancel, it has to be the host.
