Great host, nice location and really roomie front room, and kitchen with all the utensils you'd ever need fantastic deal for the money and really nice!!
We stay for one night after a long day at the lake. The place was clean, plenty of space for our kids. And have a wonderful quiet night to recharge for the next day.
Very quite and the view from the kitchen is great the place is roomy and has a big kitchen and was mostly clean, we would definitely stay again. The only issue we had is they have it advertised that the hot tub was ready and usable, they ended up telling us it was unavailable, other then that not a bad place to stay for a few nights.
This place was the perfect place to stay: affordable, more than enough space and the perfect location for everything we planned to do on our weekend getaway to Kernville! Thank you Monica for everything!
We love staying at the cottage. Itโs plenty of room for our family of 4 plus our dog. We enjoy the kitchen and the accommodations. Walking distance to town is a plus as well. We will be back next year.
Great house located within walking distance to the park and restaurants. It was clean, beds weโre comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you Monica.
Loved this loft for our stay in Kernville. Had plenty of space & was very close to downtown & Frandy Campground, where we had many friends camping there as well. Will definitely be back! Thank you again! Great stay!

This house was the perfect getaway for our family - it was spacious, the amenities were perfect, and the proximity to the river made it easy to have a great time. Monica was always available and friendly, and we highly recommend it.
Perfect place to stay before our rafting trip. Great kitchen with open floor plan, easy to walk to downtown area. The space is clean and comfortable. Thank you.
The place was clean and cozy. Plenty of room and just down the street from the center of town. The host was very helpful and let me know about road conditions prior to my stay, which was very helpful.
Will definitely stay again in the future.

Great location, tidy and laid-back spot with plenty of supplies, suitable for a short stay. Pros: well-stocked kitchen and pantry with everything you need, lots of games & activities for kids, plenty of towels, extra beddings, guide to local area, kind, easy-going host, cute dogs. Cons: the space has definitely seen better days, is due a deep clean (dusty corners and decor, stained floor mats and carpets, etc), queen bed sagging in the middle.
Greeted by the host and a friendly dog named Dexter who is an excellent ball catcher (the dog, not the host). Accommodations were excellent and just as advertised. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
Very quiet, clean and well maintained. Stocked well with all we needed.
Monica was very pleasant greeting us.
We got up real early to leave to beat the heat for our next stop.

Loft is rustic, and located behind main house. Could use a thorough cleaning, but definitely has a family feel, serving itโs purpose. Communication was timely and helpful. Thanks for letting us stay!
Stayed with a few friends for one night.
Large area to sit back and relax.
Kitchen fully stocked with food basics, cooking utensils etc. so we bought some mince meat and cooked Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner.
Would recommend to small families and small groups.
In the area for a funeral. The cottage gave us lots of room to be together and relax. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows, and plenty of plush bath towels. Kitchen was well-stocked. The unit had some cleanliness issues (dog hair, cobwebs, hair in shower), but otherwise was a perfect stay. Monica is a thoughtful host-even turning the AC on before our arrival as it was very hot that day. It would be a great option for a larger family coming to enjoy the recreation and beauty in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Place is great. Ac works well. Lots of towels and sheets and soap and huge kitchen with lots of things needed to prepare food. We slept four, two couples. Did just fine. The wives shared a bed and the husbands took the solo beds. Great value.
As soon as I walked in to the cottage I was soo happy. Monica was very accommodating and very sweet. I love the setup of the cottage and everything about it. All you need to bring is your clothing, they literally had anything and everything else you might need, even down to the seasonings. I can't wait to stay here again as soon as possible. THANK YOU MONICA AND ROB ๐

Some good, some not so good
The pluses are the host, Monica is very nice and responsive, the kitchen is well stocked and lots of games, magazines and videos (although I didn't see a video player). The bed was comfortable and it is spacious. The not so good is there were lots of cob webs, the kitchen hadn't been swept, there was built up dust on the ceiling fans and top of the cabinets above where I was sleeping (the only reason I knew that was because I got up to take down a cob web)and the windows could use a good cleaning.

Spacious and loved the kitchen
Much larger than expected with a great kitchen. Lots of cupboards and drawers in both rooms, mostly already full of things like games, dvds, linens, kitchen supplies so it was a little difficult to find places to hang things up without pulling out bedding stacked in the cupboard or figure out which drawers to use. There were a few empty drawers but you had to hunt for them. One way to make sure you see what is available for your use! It's very homey, well supplied kitchen including some food, take what you need, leave what you don't. A little hard to find where the apartment was actually located, especially since we arrived late at night, due to a fire on the way blocking traffic. We would certainly stay there again, when available.

About the host
Hosted by Monica and Rob Lambert
We live on the property. We have traveled the world and love our little river town. We have a friendly dog who will bark and try to get you to play ball. His name is Dexter. He likes other dogs. We have two horses and a western town movie set on the property. We are retired and love hosting guests.
Why they chose this property
The river, the lake and the beautiful surrounding mountains offer everything! Hiking, sailing, fishing, whitewater rafting and peace and quiet. We love walking or riding our bikes to town and greeting neighbors along the way.
What makes this property unique
The Kern River is right here! Lake Isabella is just a few miles down the road. We are just 28 miles from the Trail of 100 Giants. There is so much to do here you will never get bored.
