Dog-Friendly Home in Woods-Hot Tub, Sauna and Yurt

Our 3+ acre property in Brookings is a hidden gem along the incredible Oregon Coast. Located across from Samuel Boardman State Park, 12 miles of protected shoreline, this 2 bed, 2 bath is a perfect getaway, equipped with a cozy gas-fired stove and claw-foot tub with extra space for sleeping in the yurt. Situated where evergreens meet ocean, this area is perfect for adventures and relaxation. It is a short drive to beautiful beaches, breathtaking lookouts, redwood hikes and river activities.
The space
Start your day with coffee or tea in one of our outdoor lounge areas and end it with a soak in the hot tub while star gazing. This unique getaway also comes with access to an office and gym for those looking to work remotely in a peaceful setting. A gas stove in the main living space keeps the entire home warm and cozy. Even a rainy day is enjoyable with a soak in the claw-foot bath tub, preparing a gourmet meal in the well-stocked kitchen and Traeger grill/smoker, or lounging with the many books, games and puzzles in the house.

One bedroom has a king bed, a twin daybed, and ensuite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a new memory foam mattress. Both bathrooms have bidets with warm water and heated seats. There is also a brand new double sofa bed in the living room.

Down the hill is a yurt with another queen bed for sleeping or just hanging out and a sauna with a view for extra relaxation.

There is plenty of private parking in the driveway and space to maneuver if you are towing anything behind a vehicle.

What a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind for a quick girls trip! Arriving late the first night the hoat was very accommodating. Relaxing in the hot tub and next to the gas fire place was peaceful. Beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed! Thank you for sharing your wonderful slice of paradise with us! We had a great stay at this property in a private setting. Many extras here, including the sauna, yurt, hot tub and Traeger grill. A pair of deer stopped by one morning to feed on fallen apples.Inside was cozy and comfortable, with everything we expected and more. Only wish we could have stayed longer than our weekend.

Beautiful Area, Amazing Property

Beautiful property, if you time it right there are fresh berries and fruit everywhere if you know what to look for! The whole area is amazing and there is so much to explore. Highly recommend staying here for a relaxing beach (and redwoods) vacation.

Amazing house!

We had 3 wonderful days and nights here. It was truly magical. The house is comfortable and beautifully equipped. The hot tub is the best ever! We loved everything- the woods, the yurt, etc. I wish I could give more than a 5 star rating!

Perfect place for us

Exactly what we were looking for while making our way down the coast. Beautiful, quiet comfortable place in the woods, close to plenty of hikes and beach exploring. The house and property had everything needed to keep the entire family entertained during downtime and the kitchen provided everything needed to comfortably cook meals.

Pet friendly private getaway

Beautiful, quiet and private getaway. Just a few minutes north of Brookings. Literally, just a couple minutes east of HWY 101, parallel to Samuel H Boardman Scenic Corridor. Close enough to Jedidiah and Prairie Creek Redwoods Parks for hiking and day trips. The house was clean and has plenty of amenities. It was so serene and peaceful. The hot tub was awesome after hiking and just star gazing. I would highly recommend!

Cannot be more pleased First night we did not push the door hard enough on the yurt to open it, so don't make that mistake ( silly us), the host was super quick to get back to us about it! Had the most amazing time with the family 10 outta 10!

Weekend coastal getaway

A great location for exploring the southern Oregon coast, close proximity to Restaurants and Shops in Brookings. We didn't try check out the yurt or sauna but maybe next time. We had left a book in the bedside table and the host was very kind and sent it out to us very quickly. We would definitely stay again.

Spring Getaway

Private, woodsy adventure. Comfortable beds which means a lot to me! Plenty of TV streaming to great app services with huge TV. Hot tub was used daily. Although we didn't use the Yurt we did check it out. Very Nice!! My adult Son loved the sauna too. The outside patio deck looks great but our trip was to cold & rainy we weren't able to enjoy it. I bet it is fabulous when the weather is right. Thank you Kari for letting us share your vacation home.

Short shot!

The property and place was nice, but full disclosure things going on with the neighbors would be nice, people shooting on there property next to us and domestic disputes don’t go together with a relaxing holiday with your family for sure! Speaking with the owner after the incident and calling 911 come to find out this is a common thing since it’s rural and the neighbors have a shooting range, we probably wouldn’t have stayed there if we new this bit of information. Other than that it was a nice place to stay.

Perfect for day trips and our dogs loved it!

After I shared photos of the Christmas lights at Shore Acres I have had family that wanted to visit, so I arranged this trip. Being the first nice week after a long Winter (and a pandemic) we truly had the Southern Oregon Coast to ourselves, and I found many lodging options that would accommodate us 3, but in just the first round of suggestions we unanimously chose to stay here. The house is both extremely well appointed and comfortable. I think our dogs felt particularly at home in a way that would never have happened in a hotel or lodge. We ate ourselves silly with the incredible fresh local food and prepared about 2/3 in the home. We made a number of delicious dishes including salmon on the Traeger grill. EVERYTHING you need to know is documented in a handy binder. At first glance you might not notice how meticulously crafted the landscaping is because the garden merges seamlessly with the surrounding forest. Our host Kari was wonderful the only thing we lacked was a bunch more days for exploring. But we’ll be back. Five Stars!

The yert was fun for our children. The beds were comfy and layout of house was comfortable. The hot tub was fun and towels were plentiful. Host was accommodating with arrival time and made themselves available for questions although we didn't have any because the directions were clear and easy to follow.
