The space
THE HOUSE: Enter through french doors to the unfinished storage space. The main floor is up one flight of stairs, which can also be accessed outside the house. The fully stocked, newly renovated kitchen is ready to cook a large meal and has a sliding glass door that leads to the brand new wrap around deck where you will find a grill and a couple of adirondack chairs to enjoy the stunning views. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen with a table that can be extended to seat up to 8 guests and wraps around to the main living space with a pullout full sleeper sofa, and two comfortable chairs both with ottomans. Off the living space is a large bathroom with shower/tub combo, toilet and vanity sink. A 50 inch Smart TV with Amazon prime video, Netflix, Disney+ and Max (other apps too) are preinstalled. Stream with your accounts as desired - just remember to log out prior to departure.
The second floor is accessed from the kitchen up a flight of stairs. The primary guest room features a king-sized bed, reading nook, large dresser, and a private master balcony with bistro table and 2 chairs. AMAZING views of Little Oyster Creek can be enjoyed from here. The secondary bedroom offers a queen bed, chair, large closet and dresser. In between the bedrooms is a full bathroom with shower/tub combo, vanity and toilet. One level up from the bedrooms, leads to the top wrap around observation deck! This is where you can enjoy all 3 water views! Enjoy stargazing at night using the provided telescope or enjoy your coffee while watching the boats and jet skis come in and out of the creek!
UNFINISHED BASEMENT: Full-sized washer and dryer are located here along with a kayak, a stand up paddle board, and several life vests for you to use while at the house. We have 2 kayaks mounted outside and 1 kayak and the SUP inside. There are 2 new sliding glass doors where you can easily take them in/out from. (Tubes not included)
OUTSIDE: The newly built steps from the deck lead down to a rather large yard that includes a newly designed fire pit with chairs, as well as, a newly upgraded hammock. Plenty of space to play some corn hole, croquet, toss a frisbee or just let the kids burn off some energy. There's an awesome outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off or just rinsing off some sandy toes after a day on the water. Water to the outdoor shower will be turned off in the winter months.
GOOD TO KNOW: During high tide or after a significant rain, water can come up in the yard in the area around the marsh. In the summer months it’s common to have jellyfish (stinging nettles) in the water.

Lovely house on the water with dock for kayaking and SUP! House is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Would definitely stay again! Thanks so much!
We enjoyed our stay at Beacon Bay! It had everything we needed in order to relax and have a fun weekend! Highly recommend Sandpiper Restaurant which is a short drive from the house.
We had a wonderful time staying at Beacon Bay Getaway. The home was adorable and had everything we could need, including very comfy beds. The views were stunning and it was very quiet and peaceful. Jennifer is an excellent host and very communicative. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway!
Definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed on the Vrbo app. Everything you need is right there at your fingertips. Beautiful, quite little place on the water, fishing and crabbing Haven. Will definitely be back this summer.
We had a wonderful stay at Beacon Bay! The views were incredible, sunsets were amazing! We enjoyed use of the kayaks and relaxing in the hammock. We enjoyed that the house was far enough from the bustle but only twenty minutes to the nearest major grocery store, and ten minutes from a market! The house was clean, had everything we needed to cook (and more!) and was very comfortable! Highly recommend this beautiful property!
Beacon Bay cottage, on an attractive, expansive creek near Chesapeake Bay, is one of our most favorite cottages. It's beautifully appointed with a great kitchen. It's a joy to sit on the second-floor deck overlooking the water with a good glass of wine. So relaxing. So much fun!

The house was very clean and exactly what we expected. Perfect for a couples wedding anniversary. Everything we needed was a very short distance. We even enjoyed a flea market in Kilmarnock. Jennifer was a great host.
The owners of the property include so many conveniences for renters that were a very nice touch to include a welcome bag of goodies and coffee and creamers to kick off our stay. The property has all items for family fun to include lawn games, kayaks, and all of the necessities for a campfire. We very much enjoyed our stay and the local compass entertainment complex for my teens. The sunset view from the porch is worth the whole trip.
I spent the most perfect week at this unique property! Jennifer thought of everything from the tasteful and comfortable decor to beach towels, spices, water sports equipment and firewood supplies for the fire pit . You only need to bring your food and clothing . The home had beautiful views of the water . I will be back !
Was wondering why this place was getting 5 stars and after our stay , I can understand why. Jennifer was great and communicated prompt, although nothing was needed. I loved the lighting in the house, it was warm and welcoming. The hole was super clean which is so important when you have kids. We enjoyed all that was provided by the host: kayaks, canoe, life jackets, toiletries, etc. I would highly recommend this home for anyone to stay. Thank you Jennifer and family and Amber!
We had a wonderful, but all too quick, getaway to Beacon Bay. This house is so comfortable and quiet - we slept so well! The bald eagles fished and on the last day we saw three otters. We kayaked, played cornhole, grilled, and explored the surrounding areas. Kilmarnock was fun to explore and the nature preserves are gorgeous.
The house has extremely comfortable linens. The kitchen is very well appointed and easy to cook in. The kayaks and other games were perfect. We will definitely visit again. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful place for my family to gather. It got a 10/10 from the teenagers!
This is a beautiful house on a spectacular setting! Everything you need is provided down to multiple types of “water toys.”
I enjoyed doing yoga on the pier or deck in the mornings, followed by sitting on the wrap around deck reading a book, drinking coffee, and watching the variety of water birds. We floated in the tubes provided one afternoon and went to the small public beach just down the road another day. Had planned to kayak, but just didn’t get to that. Next time!
There was a plumbing problem one day but the owners were super responsive and got a plumber to the house in no time.
The only things to be cautious of are the spiral staircase (pack in smaller bags for ease of carrying up and down) and that, because the house is on a marsh, it is buggy outside in the hotter months.
Off the charts amazing stay at Beacon Bay! I've stayed at a lot of VRBO properties and this one, by far, was the best all around. Here are some features that really made a difference:
- Thoughtful amenities like soft toilet paper, nice paper towels, bathroom toiletries in case you forgot something, plenty of wood provided for the fire pit, soft towels. It was like being at home, only better!
- THE most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Ridiculously soft sheets and blankets and pillows. It was like sleeping in a cloud!
- Every light switch labeled (Yesssss, finally!!)
- Everything was clean and functioning. TV worked simply and intuitively.
-We appreciated the welcome gift!
- The view was beautiful! Sunrise and sunset views. Near the end of the inlet so very quiet and peaceful. Great birdwatching. Loved having dock access. Only wish it had been warmer to make use of the kayaks.
And finally, Jennifer was the most gracious host. She was responsive and helpful ahead of the trip. And she made the house feel like a home and we so appreciated every little thoughtful detail.
6 stars out of 5 for Beacon Bay!!
