We are frequent visitors to Ocracoke, but this was our first stay at The Grey Pearl. We hope it was the first of many, as within a day, it became our favorite place to stay on the island. It is immaculately clean, extremely comfortable, and delightfully inviting. The kitchen, which has received some lovely upgrades since the posted photos, has been appointed with everything you need for the days when you would rather stay in and cook a delicious meal. The comfortable mattresses provide a restful night's sleep and the cozy indoor and outdoor seating areas accommodate relaxing conversations. The beautifully updated bathroom is spacious, with a roomy shower providing a powerful stream of endless hot water. The location of the cottage is simply amazing; while it is within a short walking distance to some great places to eat, shop, and socialize, it is tucked away, allowing for an amazing degree of privacy. The communication from the host is excellent, with near instantaneous responses to any questions. Five stars does not seem like an adequate rating for the best mini vacation we have taken in a long while!

Excellent Stay

We loved The Grey Pearl and would definitely stay there again. Perfect place to recover from hours and hours on the beach!

Fall beach getaway

We enjoyed this cozy house, it was perfect for our family of 4! It was clean, the beds were very comfortable and it was very pet friendly.

Absolutely the most perfect cottage! My husband and I loved every minute!It is in a great location! Quiet — but close to everything. The host is incredibly responsive – – for even the smallest ask !!!We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend The Grey Pearl to all of our friends!

Ocracoke stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Came for my cousin’s wedding, with my partner and my sister. Was very clean, very comfortable, and absolutely adorable. My partner and I are already planning a stay in the spring and would definitely book this home again!

Enjoyable Stay in Ocracode Cottage

Nice, centrally located cottage in Ocracode village. Very clean, comfortable and fully equipped. We enjoyed being able to walk to locations in the village. We definitely recommend this cottage for anyone planning a visit to Ocracoke.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

The Pearl is a cute cottage in the middle of the village. Our family of 4 enjoyed our weekend shelling, sitting on the screened porch & playing cornhole. When you need to unplug and reset this is where you want tgo!

Awesome owners! Check in was very easy. We loved the yard for our dog and the large screened-in porch. House was very clean, bedrooms and bathroom were great sizes. Kitchen was well equipped. The Grey Pearl, an excellent stay!

The house was everything described in the ad, there were no hidden surprises. Jennifer the owner was timely and clear as well as very friendly to deal with, gave clear details and made sure we had everything we needed for a mid-winter’s getaway. Would definitely recommend to other people.

February in Ocracoke? Just need a cozy cottage.

I am a repeat visitor so obviously I was very impressed with the property. I love the location as well as the coziness of the cottage. I would highly recommend it. When I did have a very minor issue, it was very easy to get in touch with the owner and she was quite responsive.

Convenient location, great communication

This home is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the local businesses. The house is very well-provisioned as the owners have thought of everything. We had our dog with us and they had a food bowl, a kennel, and some dog blankets. The screened-in porch was also very cozy and had lots of space for gathering. The central living room and kitchen area are very spacious and cozy, with lots of places to sit and relax. The host was very communicative and made the stay a breeze. Thanks so much for the great vacation!

Just as Ocracoke should be

If you want to experience Ocracoke as it is intended, this property is perfect. It has all the amenities with a great location and just far enough off of the beaten path to be private. The property was spotless and well cared for. The host could not have been more communicative. The description of the property was precise and left little to chance. I will likely be booking this property again for next year.

Decompress Success

The property was soooo cute! Well appointed, and had everything we needed. Just a little put off by construction in front and in the back. But not your fault. We get that off-season work is being done. Also, didn't realize so many shops were still closed. Also, not your fault! And the ferry was delayed due to weather when we were trying to g get home in a timely fashion. Again, NOT your fault. Would definitely stay again!
