Check-in was easy. Great place to stay after we spent long days exploring Michigan. The host was attentive and answered questions/ quickly and checked in with us.
The property was really accessible and close to lots of amenities if needed. There was plenty of space for my family, including our 1 year old and dog. Our daughter loved being on the front porch every morning and evening! The fire pit was a great addition and perfect for Star gazing.
Very nice property. Great location. Host was very responsive. Bunk beds had some sand in the sheets, and we needed to ziptie the frame in one spot for stability… no big deal though. Overall, everything was very nice. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time in this cute cabin in the heart of it all! A previous review had noted the cabin needed a “little TLC”. While that is true, it was spotless and in the prime location for a wonderful weekend away! Would stay again!
Plenty of room for all-6 adults and a toddler. Lit a fire in the outdoor pit every night. Thought the beach was within walking distance; my mistake. House would benefit from some minor maintenance and updates but worked for us. Loved that we could bring the dogs.
I rented this house for overflow guests who could not fit in my home on the lake. I only drove by but never went inside as I was kept too busy that weekend. I was told the beds were comfortable and things were clean. The only complaint from them was the coffee machine required pods which they didn’t have so we’re unable to make coffee in the morning. I would suggest a regular coffee maker be swapped out for the pod style.
We had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and has lots of character. It has a pretty location and we enjoyed the fire. Only suggestion: it's in need of a little tlc.
Extremely dirty mold in the refrigerator, shower and under the kitchen sink. There is a 2” gap under the entry door allowing bugs and rodents into the sleeping area. There were electrical air fresheners plugged in making the air nauseous. We left after 1 night! I messaged both the host and VRBO at that time. There has been no communication whatsoever. I do expect a refund
We had great long weekend at this cottage. Having two full bathrooms was a big plus, and the kitchen is very well-supplied with glassware and dishes. Very clean and comfortable. We would stay again!
Had a great stay! The home was clean, comfortable and inviting. If good linens, beds and cleanliness are important to you then this is the place for you! Thanks for the hospitality. We hope to be back!
The property was perfect for our family! Nick was super responsive and helpful with everything. The patio was perfect for our dog. We spent the majority of our time outside and enjoying the lake!
Cottage is actually nicer than it appears on the site! It was clean, charming and comfortable. And, one of the extra lovely bits was that there is NOT a huge "to-do" list that they ask you to complete when leaving. Highly recommend!
2 couples for a 3 night getaway. Had a relaxing time hanging out. Reasonably priced clean property. Short distance to South Haven and beach. Would definitely stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Nick Miller
Welcome to my home, I currently live in Chicago and have lived all over the county. By far the Mid-West suits me well. I enjoy sharing my home with family and friends who come here to relax and to have down time. I think my dogs Hank and Wrigley love it the most enjoying the sunshine on the front porch and watching squirrels and deer in the back yard. I love to travel and collect magnets from my travels, bring a piece of home with you and add to the magnets on the fridge.
The home was previously on another site, don't worry we were a Super Host with 50+ 5 star reviews! The decision was made for the change to make it a more hands on experience for our guests and myself.
Why they chose this property
I picked the area as I have friends nearby and liked the slower lifestyle here at Paw Paw Lake.
What makes this property unique
This home was built in 1941 by my neighbor's grandfather. Most of the structure comes from the 30's state fair in Indiana. The house been known as Motto Cottages which was directly across the street and still standing next door this home was cottage 9. When purchasing the home many unique items were left behind, including the piano from 1886 which was at the family's great great grandmothers speak easy which she also provided alcohol during prohibition. There are still some relics in the home as I had to update for everyday living. This home has been my pride and joy as almost every portion of the home has had some sort of renovation done.
