Incredibly well appointed house on a beautiful property.
This house is exceptional. The kitchen is equipped with literally any tool / pot / glass / platter you could possibly need. The house is clearly somewhat new (or was significantly remodeled recently) and it was done pretty high end. The beds are all very comfortable. The screened in porch, with a view of the water, is fantastic - we ate dinner there every night of our trip (except for the night of our pilgrimage to Dolphin Marina). The expansive lawn is great for kids. The dock is also excellent and we made good use of the kayaks (the water was flat as glass most mornings which made it easier for younger/beginner kayakers to safely get the ropes). My only (minor) gripe is that despite being billed as a “green” home, and despite the presence of separate bins in the kitchen for trash and recycling, we were told that only trash gets picked up and were instructed to put the recycling in with the trash (and if we wanted to recycle the recyclable material we would have to take it to a center in Harpswell ourselves). It seems like it might be worth paying for recycling to be picked up (if that’s available) or having the property management company handle the recycling. But that was obviously a minor complaint. All in all this may have been the best vacation home our family has ever rented.
