Know Before You Go: Island Logistics
-Accessing paradise takes a little adventure. Our island is boat-access only.
-Gated mainland parking and hourly ferry service between 9:00 am and 6:00pm are included (late runs until 9:00 pm available by request Wed/Fri/Sat)
-Beach boardwalk is temporarily closed, so you will reach the beach via a sandy path along the dunes (no carts allowed to protect fragile dune ecosystems).

*We have a discreet Ring front doorbell camera to help us coordinate arrivals, housekeeping, and maintenance. It ensures your stay is seamless—from check-in to check-out—so you can relax, knowing we’ve got the details covered.

We loved this rental! Kristin was super helpful from start to finish! It was very clean and comfortable, with a stunning view of Gulf sunsets and dolphins, and both the beach and pool were close and convenient. It was a VERY warm pool! One thing we were not savvy about was the direct impact of the weather on our plans- the wind and fog impacted two of our outing days (we were stranded on the island for the whole day) and we were lucky to have a bit of flexibility and one of our excursions that gave us grace, otherwise we would've lost money due to the ferry being unable to run. This brought about more planning (and some stress). But, overall, the ferry was a fun adventure for our family and we loved the quiet nature of the beach and long beach walks. HIGHLY Recommend!!

We absolutely loved our stay! This is the perfect combination of beach access, pool access, privacy, and nature. The home is beautifully, clean, and very well appointed -- you'll feel just like you're at home. We forgot a few things and appreciated a few extra toiletries provided. The laundry is a bonus as well so you can pack light and wash clothing as needed. From watching dolphins, manatees, birds, turtles, lizards to beach combing for shark's teeth and sand dollars, this spot in SWFL has it all. Perfection! We also appreciated the very clear communication from the host so we knew exactly what to expect, and when! Best communication from a host thus far. You won't regret booking this spot, it's A

Great stay

Everything was as described. The host, Kristin, was more than accommodating. She even saved our dinner one night by dropping off some things we forgot. If you’re looking for somewhere to just relax, this is the place. Just note, there is some planning ahead involved due to the ferry. All in all, we would definitely stay again.

Awesome Beach Stay

This is a perfect beach family getaway. We saw all of our favorite things on LGI- osprey, dolphins, manatees and Tortoise. The Condo was perfect and you couldn’t beat ocean views.

Family stay

We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but this is one of the best we’ve ever seen. The condo is beautiful and there were so many thoughtful extras. The views of the ocean and sunsets were amazing. You are only steps away from the beach that we had to ourselves a lot of the time. We would highly recommend this condo if you are looking for a quiet and laid back vacation.

The unit was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Location was great proximity to the beach, pool and short walk to the ferry, which was important to us with a 2 year old in tow. Everyone on the island is friendly and engaging. The ferry captains are all great guys, very professional. Perfect vacation!

The greatest getaway!

Simply perfect is the only way to describe Kristin’s property! The pictures say it all; beautifully designed & decorated, cozy, comfortable & CLEAN! We loved every minute, and Kristin was an awesome host. She’ll do all that she can to make sure you feel the magic of LGI, we sure did!

Amazing

We loved our stay in Wasi Mati. The condo is in great condition and the views are hard to beat. The island is quiet and secluded. The heated pool is a big benefit. We took the 15 minute ferry to the mainland each afternoon/evening for dinner at local restaurants. You could just as easily bring food over and make your own food on the island. I would definitely recommend this condo for anyone looking for a quiet beach stay!

This condo and this island are a true gem

The quiet and isolation of the island was just what we were looking for. The condo was outstanding. The direct responsiveness from Kristen and Chris was great. Their digital guide prepared us for everything. The ferry service to/from the island was a breeze. Hope be be back.

Can’t wait to go back

We’ve being going to LGI since I was a kid back in 2003 and now I’m going with my kids. It has become a family tradition and Wasi Mati was the best condo we’ve stayed in on the island. Recently remodeled, it is immaculate. We cannot wait to go back! The only complaints are out of the owners hands honestly and those are:Make sure you bring bug spray or the mosquitos will be a nuisance even more than usual. Pack as little as you can get away with. There are no more carts to help you lug your things from the ferry to the condo so it can get tiring (and very sweaty). Other than that, it’s a 10/10 stay and experience. I miss it already :(

Absolutely perfection!!!!!!

Spent all our time on the beach and in the bluest water in Florida! The unit was more than what I expected! Faced the beach and was less than a 3 minute walk to the sand. Ferry was easy and organized! Ferry to the unit less than 5 minutes. Can’t wait to go back!!!!

This is a perfect spot on LGI! The ferry allows access without a boat. The unit is beachfront and those sunsets are the best! The pathway makes it easy to get from ferry to condo to beach. Unit had all the items and extra. Even beach towels available. Unit was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous Views

Had an awesome time with family. I had some scheduling confusion at first but Kristin and Chris were very accommodating and helpful making sure everything worked out! Perfect updated units with stunning views and several balconies to enjoy from! Only accessible by Ferry which took some adjusting, but the Ferry Captains were awesome too!! Perfect place for staying put and enjoying the beach. Thanks to all for this much needed time and healing for our family!! Would highly recommend!!

Beautiful Views

At this property you have the ability to see the sun rise and the sun set without ever leaving it! The beds and linens were soft and so very comfy. The entire unit is beautifully renovated for a nice modern feel. Lots of extras in the bathroom and kitchen that make the island vacation stress free. Kristen provides a very detailed digital guide with your stay that answers any question you may have or didn't know you needed to know and promptly responds with any other questions you may have. We can not wait to get back to LGI.

Little gasparilla

We couldn’t have been happier with the condo and the owner. We arrived just as tropical storm Debby was forming. Kristin worked with us and was even willing to change our dates to accommodate. Then we got to the island and the listing didn’t do it justice. My family started this was the nicest place we’d ever stayed at. My son and son in law really enjoyed the beach and then fishing in the harbor. It was exactly what I wanted to celebrate my birthday. The place really is paradise.

Wow! The island was beautiful and peaceful. The views from the condo were breathtaking! Everyone enjoyed and looked forward to the sunsets. Not a single store on the island, no roads or traffic, and even with storm repairs happening it was still quiet and disconnected from the busy world. Our boys loved snorkeling for conks and sand dollars, picking up shells on the beach, fishing, and playing in the sand. It felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves! The locals!!! I cannot say enough about how absolutely amazing the locals were. Some of the nicest people we’ve ever met on a vacation. EVERYONE treated each other with such kindness and respect! Our captain and his wife were so great, they felt like family. The only cons of this trip were things that will only take time to fix and everyone was working hard to restore!

Absolutely Amazing!

This was a wonderful vacation place for my family. I was with my adult kids and toddler grandson. LGI has been one of our most favorite places for 16 years. This is the first time we’ve stayed at Kristen‘s condo. Everything was so clean, spacious and luxurious with plenty of room for six people. From start to finish, Kristen was very helpful and accommodating for our family. She provided excellent pre-trip information and responded very quickly to any questions we had during our stay. She even allowed us a late check-out since the condo wasn’t being rented again the same day. I would definitely recommend Kristen‘s condo on LGI for anyone looking for the perfect getaway!

Best property on the island!

Seriously can’t say enough great things about Kristin’s property! First of all, she was such a lovely host. She went out of her way to be available to me and was super clear/thorough in her communications. I especially loved her helpful digital guidebook app. I’ve been coming to the island for years and this property is by far the nicest available. It’s sparkling clean, completely renovated, and very luxurious. I felt like I was staying in a 5 star hotel! Kristin has really thought through every detail down to the hotel slippers that were waiting for us (and we got to take home!), and the coffee bar with local Florida coffee and tropical tea blends! The property is directly on the beach and there were incredible views from literally every room. This was my first time staying at a condo on the island and the extra amenities made “island life” much easier. Gated parking, ferry access, pool and trash pickup were major luxuries compared to my previous stays on the island. I’ll definitely be staying at Kristin’s property again (already booked for next year!).

Beautiful condo—spotless, modern, and fully stocked with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. It truly felt like a home away from home. The bedding was soft, the towels were great quality, and the living space was cozy and inviting. LGI is always a wonderful getaway, and having a relaxing place to stay makes all the difference—this condo did not disappoint.That said, there are a few things to be aware of that are outside the homeowner’s control, mostly due to recent hurricane impacts. If you’ve stayed on the island before, you know getting there isn’t always easy, and this trip was a bit more complicated than usual. Guests at the condo currently aren’t allowed to use golf carts, and the walk from the dock to the unit is pretty long. We ended up paying 120 to some locals to help haul our luggage and groceries, since carts weren’t allowed either.Additionally, the boardwalk to the beach is under repair, which means walking through the sand dunes instead of using the usual wooden path—definitely more effort to get to the beach.All in all, I’d absolutely rent this condo again. The comfort, style, and views make it worth it. While there are a few current inconveniences from hurricane recovery, the property itself is fantastic. We saw some signs of progress around the area, though it looks like it may take some time. Still, the stay was well worth it.

We’re Kristin and Chris

Our island adventure goes all the way back to our elopement on a small island in the Indian Ocean. Hoping to recreate that same sense of bliss a little closer to home (Colorado), we discovered Little Gasparilla Island many years ago. We purchased a large home on the south end of the island to form memories with our daughters when they were young (some of you may have enjoyed our Ukuthula House). When our little shorebirds flew the coop, we decided we wanted an easier and lower maintenance island life. We honed in on the Placida Beach Condos as they tend to be quieter and more upscale feeling than other options on LGI. Side note: When I texted my daughters the first time I had the “luxury” of not having to haul my own trash off the island, they said I was “cheating” and “being bougie” LOL!

We have traveled all over the world (Chris is from South Africa, and I have spent the bulk of my career traveling to world-class resorts). While we love the barefoot tranquility of LGI, we do appreciate a beautiful place to stay. I’m taking my 28 years of real estate investing experience, mixed with a long career of being wined and dined in some of the nicest hotels around the world and infusing just a tiny bit of both into our two new breathtaking LGI condos.

If you’re looking for that perfect blend of a low-key LGI immersion mixed with a more upscale island accommodation (not to mention coveted complimentary ferry and trash service), you’ve found your new home away from home!

Why they chose this property

We wanted to experience a slightly easier version of LGI and searched high and low for the perfect condo that includes parking, ferry service, and trash pickup... Since we couldn’t decide between our favorite view, beach or bay, we decided to buy one of each! Chris and I love a good renovation project, so we’ve been living in (and redecorating) our bayfront unit ("Thula Mati" - Zulu for Calm Water) while fully renovating the beachfront unit: a total gut job (not an easy feat on a bridgeless barrier island).

What makes this property unique

If you've been to LGI before you know what a treat it is to have amenities! Safe, gated mainland parking, hourly ferry service, trash service, and... oh yeah... did I mention our HEATED FRESHWATER POOL!!?? Our unit has been fully renovated (2023) and is the perfect retreat for the discerning guest who wants to experience LGI with a touch of luxury.
