A great little get away spot! Not too close and not too far from anything (town, stores, tourist attractions, hiking trails). Cozy little cabin that I would definitely like to rent again. Steve, the host, even has a snack basket and a cabin log that past guests have written their experience in! The only thing to keep in mind is that some of the cabins are dual cabins so you might end up sharing a wall with someone. I might have accidently streamed Star Trek to the other side's tv once or twice. Overall it was a great and relaxing experience.
The rental is as shown in the pictures. It was very clean and comfortable for the two of us and our dog. We enjoyed walking the neighborhood with the beautiful golf courses and homes.
The place was great for our needs and as advertised. Very near to beautiful hiking and some nice wineries. The bed was not very comfortable, but everything was great.
Very good location on the wine trail and a cute & cozy cabin! The cabin is a nice alternative to a hotel for a weekend away. There were a few bugs, but nothing too bad and nothing you wouldn’t expect in an area surrounded by woods.
Just 15mins from Alto Pass was perfect. We had a cozy stay in the Merica themed cabin, quiet, clean & pet friendly. Great communication from the host made our stay easy & stress free.
Cabin was clean and comfortable. Host was easy to get in contact with and helpful. Location was great as it was less than 10 minutes to Carbondale but still in a quiet country setting.
Nice simple clean 1 bedroom with a sofa bed to stay in while exploring the Shawnee National Forest & the Shawnee Wine Trail. Safe area close to main roads. FYI--no oven for cooking but includes a nice BBQ grill on the patio.
The cabin was nice. It had enough room for me to relax in after a day with family or in Shawnee National Forest. The area felt very safe and there was no ouside noise. I will stay there again.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cabin 😊 loved the location and atmosphere. The cabin was so cozy and not far from the state park. The basket of snacks were perfect! We will definitely be going back!! ❤️
We loved this cute, cozy, comfy cabin. Just the right size for a couple - not too big, but not too small either. Very quiet location, wi-fi worked great, comfy bed, water temperature/pressure for the shower was perfect. The entire cabin was very clean. Loved the Americana decor and the small basket of snacks added a nice touch. Looking forward to staying again sometime.

I grew up in Southern Illinois, and could not wait to 'Get Out,' 'Escape,' and go to the big city. I went to school in Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology, and left Southern Illinois far behind. I thought this was great.
I had a very successful career in the online advertising, marketing, and market research world catering to big pharma. In a normal year I would fly 125,000 miles and see many places, countries and sites.
As I grew older and my 'success' continued I felt more and more that something was missing. I began to yearn for the hills of Southern Illinois, the slower pace of life, and the people I left behind more and more.
In 2013, I came home for a few weeks to help my mother move my father into a nursing home. After this was completed I flew to Milan for business, and on my way back I received a call that my mother had had a stroke. This was a life changing event for me, and I never really back to my house in Asheville, NC.
My father spent the year getting worse, and my Mother spent the year getting better. When my father died in December of 2013, I decided to 'officially' move to Southern Illinois in order to spend more time with my mother and be closer with family. I also made the decision to leave the company I worked for and do something simpler, and local to Southern Illinois.
June 1st, 2014 I started my company with the goal to create vacation rental homes in Southern Illinois and help the area grow tourism. Southern Illinois is a beautiful and special place, and I would like to share it with as many people as possible.
