About this property
SC Farmstead Cottage with modern amenities, farm views, and equine visitors
Whether you are on vacation, visiting family, or on a work-related trip, the SC Farmstead Cottage provides rest, comfort, and functionality so you can sip your coffee on the front porch at sunrise, or head out for the day out to enjoy the many activities and sights across the Upstate.
The Home: Come relax in this newly renovated home that has an open living room/dining room that extends into the fully equipped kitchen area (toaster, crockpot, microwave, stove, blender, refrigerator, and coffee/tea bar with Keurig). Enjoy all your favorite apps on the large tv in the family den or choose to relax with a book in the front living room (containing all new furniture and flooring). Each of the 3 bedrooms has a Smart TV and fast WIFI for your entertainment needs. The home comfortably sleeps 7 with 2 bedrooms outfitted with brand new queen beds and the 3rd bedroom having both a bunkbed (twin/twin) and a single bed. The 2nd bedroom also has cozy desk and chair for remote work or can also be used as a vanity/makeup area. The large hall bath has a tub while the 2nd full bathroom off of the den has a stand-up shower.
Walking past the laundry area (W/D), and out the back door, you’ll discover a beautiful deck with table, umbrella and chairs, as well as a shaded firepit sitting area where you can watch the sunset into the trees as the deer & squirrels run through the woods in between a couple of old barns, buildings, and canning sheds. Sitting on the front porch is a completely different vibe as the sunny front yard opens up to a small horse barn and acres of pasture. You are welcome to invite guests to enjoy the outdoor space; however, we ask that you limit it to 4 additional guests and request that they not stay overnight.
Just outside of town, this 13-acre quaint farmstead provides tranquility and seclusion, so you can unplug, unwind, and reconnect with friends and family on the back deck, and yet is still close enough to quickly access the area’s best restaurants and entertainment for an impromptu evening out. (Upon booking, we will provide you with a list of our personal recommendations for locally-owned casual & "date-night" dining venues, weekend music hotspots, and area entertainment options!)
Anderson and the Upstate Area: The Upstate region offers a wide range of activities for all areas and it the perfect destination for families who enjoy the outdoors and want to go boating, fishing, and hiking. From the hundreds of state and local parks available for picnicking on Lake Hartwell, Lake Keowee, or Lake Jocasee to the multitude of hiking and river falls options, you could spend a week simply enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. Alternatively, the SC Farmstead Cottage is located on the east side of Anderson and in close proximity to our revived downtown filled with a variety of stores, restaurants, bars & breweries, and coffee shops. And for treasure hunters, yard-sale pickers, and those wanting an "eclectic" shopping experience, we are ~2 miles from the Anderson Jockey Lot & Farmer's Market - a 65-acre "flea market on steroids" with over 1500 vendors selling everything from fresh produce, livestock, clothes, and tools to antiques & tombstones! Note: The Jockey Lot is open year-round on weekends, with the best treasures often found early in the mornings. While you are there, there are plenty of food options to keep your energy up- Jaki recommends the fresh powdered donuts (you can watch them being cooked!) while Brian recommends the Southern boiled peanuts (available at several locations in the covered buildings.) Heads up: In addition to the furniture, clothing, & typical "yard sale merchandise", the Jockey Lot is a place to find the unusual, the stuff that mainstream stores just won’t sell. You can get healing oils, NASCAR memorabilia, local honey, questionable artwork :), and even skull bowling balls! If you have a free morning, it is an experience!
One of the best ways to explore Anderson is to journey along the walking tour of its 16-block Historic District. Along the way, you’ll pass the Anderson County Courthouse, the P&N Railroad Depot, the Confederate Monument on the square, the Anderson County Museum and a 1764 Revolutionary War cannon dubbed “Old Reformer.” Along with the many historic buildings, the downtown district is also home to an extensive array of casual and fine dining restaurants, from the elegant Sullivan’s Metropolitan Grill to the new “Up On the Roof” rooftop restaurant to the retro Summa Joe’s, known for its locally sourced dishes. Equally alluring is the eclectic collection of shops offering everything from handmade chocolates to one-of-a-kind apparel to fresh local produce and products. Add to that several fun craft beer taprooms and breweries, many offering live music on the weekends. Just off Main Street is Carolina Wren Park, a popular outdoor venue for concerts and events, including a Thursday night block party, Friday movie night, holiday ice skating, yoga and Zumba classes and Shakespeare performances. While you’re visiting the park, look for a Carolina wren sculpture hidden in plain sight. Part of a downtown scavenger hunt, the small bronze bird is one of 24 wrens that can be found roosting in iconic buildings and some unusual spots. You can pick up a brochure with clues to their locations in the Visit Anderson office at 110 Federal St., Suite 8.
Outside of downtown are several other acclaimed culinary landmarks, among them Split Creek Farm, a goat dairy that produces award-winning cheeses, yogurt and fudge as well as CityScape Winery offering both and indoor & outdoor tasting room with a wide range of wines, from sweet to traditional barrel-aged, along with, locally sourced food. Anderson also offers access to Lake Hartwell, named a Top 100 Bass Lake in America and one of the Southeast’s largest and most popular public recreation lakes. Visitors can get on the water from Sadlers Creek State Park, Darwin Wright Park or any number of nearby marinas. The city is also the home of Anderson University, a private college serving some 3,000 students; the Anderson Arts Center, filled with original works of art created by regional, national and international artists; and the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center, a 300-acre facility, playing host to concerts, sporting events, tournaments, festivals and more. Warm and welcoming, Anderson will make you feel right at home however you choose to spend your time in our friendly town.

It was a very beautiful property and nicely decorated. The check-in and checkout process was very easy and the Owner was very prompt and professionalThey provided us fresh eggs from their chickens. The property was very quiet, relaxing and we will definitely be going back.Try this home out and you will not want to go home.I would give 10 stars if it allowed that option.Perfect vacation!Loved it!
This was a great place to stay! The house is really nice. There is plenty of parking and the location is good. The host was super responsive and very helpful. I would stay again if I come back to the area.
We enjoyed this cozy cabin while visiting our son at Clemson for Family Weekend. Clemson is about 30 min away. The area was very quiet and the cabin was well stocked. The coffee bar was a nice surprise! Would definitely stay again.
We were in town for my son's wedding at Lacee Meadows. This was the perfect house for family. Everything was very clean and lots of extra amenities! Thank you for the wonderful stay!
We stayed here after the Savannah Bananas game, and it was fantastic! Jaki was incredibly kind and helpful, and we look forward to coming to stay again for more Clemson events in the future. The house is beautiful and well-equipped. It has everything you could think of!
We had a wonderful stay! The coffee bar was amazing and everything was beautifully clean. The kitchen and bedrooms were well stocked and decorated. The hosts were friendly and communicative. The kids loved the horses next door that would come to the fence for a visit. We will definitely book again :)
The property was perfect, nice, and peaceful. The host thought of everything you could need. If you drink coffee then you ’re in for a treat with the coffee bar. I would definitely recommend/suggest this property to anyone.
Clean and nicely decorated house, with lots of little extras provided! There were eggs and condiments in the fridge, paper products, shampoo & conditioner, laundry soap, and a lovely coffee and tea bar with coffee, tea, and “add-ins” all available! We got in easily but somehow managed to mess up the combo lock at one point during our stay, but the hosts responded almost instantly and helped us to get back in. Only thing we missed was a dishwasher, but the supplies to wash by hand were all provided. We will definitely come again!
This house is a beautiful gem nestled in the country between Anderson and Greenville. The location is very quiet. The house is beautiful and has everything you need (except a dishwasher). The owners are very nice and quick to respond.
Super place in the country. Very quiet and private. If you want quiet, nature and off the beaten path this place is for you. Jaki was great with communication
This property is a wonderful country setting. Nice and quiet. I call it a very special place and I highly recommend it. I would stay here again if ever back in this area again. Everything we needed was supplied even farm fresh eggs and biscuits for breakfast. Delicious! Our hosts saved the day when we locked ourselves out and came right to our rescue. This place was very clean which means a lot.
Very private, cozy
Everything we needed for our stay
Great for parking and charging for our boat during our sons tournament. House was perfect for our teenage kids and close to lake. Couldn’t have picked a better place. Owners were very welcoming and reach out to see if we needed anything during our stay.
Super cute home that feels like you are staying on a secluded farm yet is close to everything you need. A short drive to highways and Clemson University. The house is updated with a modern farmhouse vibe and comes well stocked with just about everything you could need. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed sitting out back around the fire pit on a cool fall evening.
We had a great time at this place. My grandson, who is 3 said that it was the fake country with the red toaster. He had a hard time wrapping around being in South Carolina and not Nebraska. I loved the fresh farm eggs too. Thank you so much.
We stayed here while visiting with family in the area. The weekend was rainy and cold, but the cottage was cozy and comfortable. The host went above and beyond to make the place welcoming. From farm-fresh eggs to a well stocked coffee bar.The house was neat and tidy, with a very well done, apparently recent, renovation. It is situated in a quiet, rural setting between 2 horse pastures (with very friendly horses), but only minutes away from a modern, well-stocked, grocery store. We plan to stay here again, hopefully during better weather to enjoy morning coffee on the porch.
3 moms and 4 teens teamed up to rent this rural treasure for a 5 day baseball tournament. We were so happy to have some space and not be stuck in a hotel while it rained the first 2 days. We cooked, played games and watched movies. It was perfect as can be. The owners communicate well and are so nice. They were very accommodating with our crazy schedule. Also brought us fresh eggs that we cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. This property was in a great location. Could not have asked for better. Would absolutely book again.
