Our family had an amazing time at this beautiful Mountain Cabin. I sat on the porch reading books to my granddaughter while my son fished the river. This was truly an amazing getaway we desperately needed.

The property and house was absolutely gorgeous. Overlooking a river and pasture. It was so peaceful and serene. The accommodations were anything you could ask for! Very thoughtfully decorated and designed. Excellent location- close to Boone, Blue Ridge Parkway and other small towns around. Thank you for an amazing time away from our normal hustle and bustle.

The Briar Patch was all the photos show and so much more. Relaxing, rejuvenating and a wonderful space for connection. The property is very well kept, clean and very well stocked with kitchen ware and cooking needs. The communication with the owners was wonderful and so helpful in giving information about the area. We are already looking at our calendars to see when we can plan our next trip to the Briar Patch.

Cozy & Romantic

We had the most wonderful time! The atmosphere was incredibly cozy, perfect for a romantic getaway. The hosts paid attention to every detail, making sure our stay was both fun and relaxing. Cozy and Quaint

We really enjoyed our stay. My husband and I stayed in the cottage. Normally, when we go on vacations, we are constantly on the go. This time was different. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire pit, and the view. We can't stop talking about what a great time (relaxing time) we had. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Getaway

This cabin was just as advertised, nestled on the side over a mountain overlooking the mountain river! A quick walk down the road leads to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes. The cabin was perfect for 3 generations of my family and the wood burning fireplace and snow while we were there topped it all off. A quick 30 minute trip to Sugar Mountain for the kids to snow ski was very convenient and it's a very quick trip into Boone as well for walking around and enjoying local shops. We would definitely recommend you consider staying here if you are looking for a peaceful retreat during winter or summer! You won't regret it!

Winter Break

This place is a gem! Nestled between Boone and Banner Elk. Our Kids love it… We did snow tubing at Sugar Mountain and It’s near Boone Downtown and Blowing rock if you want to dine in the restaurants. The Briar patch is so cozy and warm. Perfect if you want to escape the busy life in the city. The jacuzzi and Bonfire made this place extremely awesome! Very clean and complete with all the kitchen equipment that you’ll need and the Hosts are very hospitable and welcoming. Thank you Briar Patch for making our winter break memorable. Relaxing North Carolina Getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at this unique and fun property. We hated we could only stay 2 nights. We stayed with our two young children who loved the bunk room! The main cabin is really wonderful. The second, smaller cabin is such a neat part of the property! We enjoyed eating dinner at the table outside. We have stayed at a lot of cabins over the years, and this one is cozy, but with plenty of space at the same time. The only thing I would add is something about the history of the cabin! I would've loved to have known the age of the original part of the cabin and where the buildings originated. Overall, we hope we can return and stay longer next time!

Outstanding property with many fabulous spaces to enjoy the people you love, with plenty of privacy in a gorgeous setting! Inside there is a festive dining room with seating for 8, a cook together, fully stocked kitchen, game night living room. The hosts have made all rooms welcoming with added touches - books, games, soft throws (which came in useful for morning coffee!), plenty of seating. The main bedroom is so cozy, and the bunk room is fairly private and functional. The main bath is large and the shower room spa-like! Windows everywhere bring the outside in.The cottage house is a huge adder that is rarely seen in a rental of this size. Beautifully done with a comfy king and everything you need, it gives added privacy and a little more luxury. The deck here has a magnificent view, as does the laundry room in the rear of the cottage house. Made me a bit envious.:)The middle open-air space is fantastic!! We had coffee outside every morning and watched the cows, turkeys and other birds along with the clouds. We grilled and ate outside at the table. We enjoyed the hot tub with the view and the firepit! The area is packed with local flora and was fun to explore. This continued on the many walks along the river road.I rented The Briar Patch, after much research, for my daughter's graduation from ASU and to have a place to bring my elderly mother to for all of us to celebrate this event together. It by far exceeded our expectations!!! Thank you.

It's disappointing to get 4 stars when we work so hard to provide a 5-star experience... particularly when the guest didn't mention any problems at all. Even here in the review there is no mention of a problem. Oh well...
