Thank you for your excellent review, we hope you visit again in 2025. Until then have a wonderful life enjoying your family and friends.
The lake is private and beautiful. Great dock and beach for kids to swim. Enjoyed fishing off the dock. The boat launch is a huge plus as there are no public boat launches. This was our second year staying here and we ran into some glitches but the owner was prompt with responses.
Property is pretty much as described. Stay was pleasant and enjoyable. I had a discussion with host as to effectiveness of hired maintenance and cleaning staff's thoroughness prior to our arrival. I trust the issue has been corrected for future quests.

Dear Renter,
Thank you for your positive review. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and have taken steps to implement your suggestions to our staff. Sonic net optic fiber company has put in the lines and we now offer WIFI for future guests as we continue to strive to provide excellent accommodations/amenities for our guests to enjoy a relaxing up north experience.
We had a great week at Bass Lake! The cabin was a perfect space for 7 of us! The lake was beautiful and very peaceful. We enjoyed campfires and lots of fishing off the dock. Perfect for kids. There is not a public boat launch on the lake keeping it very quiet. The cabin does have its own boat launch, however, we weren’t able to launch our pontoon due to our bunk trailer and the depth of the water. This is not a complaint by any means, just a heads up for others bringing larger boats. We spent two days on the Chain of Lakes which was fantastic. We got great advice from the gentleman at Boat Sports who directed us to a great place to launch our large pontoon on the chain. Thank you to the Craigs for sharing their great place with our family.
We loved this little house. It was neat and clean. The only issue is that the listing did not specify that we would need to bring our own bedding. We found that out the day before the stay. It was either bring your own or wash everything and put it away before you leave, including the towels. I have never heard of this rule before; why the cleaning fee would be added if not for this service?

Location, location, location...Thank you for your positive review, we are so happy that you love our house and sorry that you did not read the contract when you booked our cabin. We require that you leave the cabin as you've found it, neat, swept/vacuumed. Our cleaning person disinfects the kitchen counters, sinks, toilets, tub/showers and mops the bathroom and kitchen floors. We offer sheets and towels and request that if you use it you wash and dry it before you leave. It takes a village to keep a home in top shape and we appreciate all renters who understand this. Our cabin is not a hotel room, it is a home on it's own spectacular lakefront property located in the north woods where help is very hard to find. We ask our renters to treat our cabin with the respect that they would have for their own home. Several listings up here do not offer linens at all - we have chosen to give you the option to use what we provide or bring your own. If you wash the bath towels/kitchen towels the night before check-out and the sheets and remaining kitchen towels the morning of departure it is not difficult to manage.

Nice little cabin
Perfect location on the lake, nice windows for great views of the lake, firepit right outside the door on the patio. Cozy enough for two, it would be very close quarters with more than two people even though there are three bedrooms. Beautiful sand frontage with nice large pier. The property inside was very clean upon arrive but is a bit worn, could use some updates (coffee maker did not work correctly, bathtub did not drain, slate patio needs some repairs, mattress pads and towels are worn) All in all a nice little place that was very quiet for our week vacation. Just be aware of what you are getting if you are interested in this property, great potential but needs some TLC.

Thank you for your review, we would like to encourage all renters to please inform an owner whenever an issue arises and should be addressed. We cannot remedy what we do not know, so if the renter would have called us we would have brought them new towels etc. or walked them through proper operation of any appliance or replaced it if needed. We have duplicates for such an occasion - so please give us a call - we are very friendly and want to make sure our cabin is kept in excellent condition. We strive to attain the highest ratings possible and assure you that we are committed to our renters and our cabin. PS... the fishing is wonderful!!! Thank You,
The cottage is alright. The living/kitchen area is small, good for 6 people. When we arrived the floors were not swept. We choose to use the supplied sheets for the beds that had to be washed before checkout. The washer and dryer are located in a crawl space with an outside entry. Recommend bringing your own sheets and towels unless you want to run outside and down into a crawl space to the washer and dryer. The outside patio was not swept off when we arrived, very dirty and stones/blocks falling apart. The steps down to the lake where not swept off. Lawn not cut and tall grass along the shoreline. Just basic little housekeeping tasks that could make it nicer.
The fishing off the dock was good, bluegill, bass, crappie. Did catch a few northern out on the lake.
Bathroom shower drain was blocked up, contacted the owner and she came right over to try to fix. We just kept adding Drano throughout the week to keep it going.
Stove and Refrigerator are updated and work good.
Owner was very nice.

Thank You for your positive review. I apologize to future renters, even though this is a positive review with 4 stars, it was very disappointing to us and could have been avoided if we were made aware of issues when guests arrive. We strive to offer a clean, comfortable, Northwoods Cabin for our renters to create wonderful memories with their family and friends. The description of the basement is inaccurate and I must set this straight. Our cabin has a basement with crawl space (1/3 Basement and 2/3 Crawl) the washer and dryer as well as the furnace and water tank are located in the basement area. You are able to stand in the basement, the ceilings are 7+ feet tall. It does indeed have an exterior access. We have a slate patio which is beautiful and can be fragile, see photos. Please understand that this is the north woods. The cabin is cleaned(vacuumed, mopped) and exterior patio and stairs are blown off with a leaf blower or swept after guest check-out. Storms/wind can leave sand, pine needles, leaves on the patio and steps to the lake. ( I wish we could control this but we cannot) We have exterior and interior mats for guests to wipe off their feet, unfortunately sand is very hard to remove from shoes which is why we encourage guests take them off when you enter the house. We understand that this is hard to do when you are bringing in your luggage. Our exterior maintenance crew comes once a week(usually Saturday) to mow the grass and blow off all the walkways - if you check in on a Friday, they come the following day. We have a vacuum, brooms and mop for renters to keep the home tidy during their stay. I appreciated the renter making us aware of the shower drain clog which was cleared within an hour of the phone call I received. For all future renters, please keep the drain screens on the tub/shower drains - they are there to capture hair so we can prevent clogs. We have a garbage can in the bathroom - renters can remove their own hair from the screen for unimpeded water flow. We clean out the bath drainage screens and cabins after every check-out. Please note we cannot fix what we don't know about or aren't made aware of. We thank renters who inform us of ways we can tweak our property and please let us know if something isn't right when you arrive so we can remedy it immediately. Thank You
This cabin was perfect for my little family of 5. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of up north, the beautiful scenery and the shallow sandy bottom lake. Perfect for small children. The owner was wonderful and easy to communicate with.

Dear Renter, Thank you for your lovely review, we appreciate this cabin for all it has to offer from the breathtaking sunrises shining on the gradual slope, to the hard sandy bottom, crystal clear lake, and lets not forget the aluminum pier, canoe and row boat! We strive to present our renters with an opportunity to make memories worthy of lasting a lifetime with a clean, well appointed, lakefront cabin situated on the beautiful private, full recreation Bass Lake in the north woods. We would love to welcome your family in the near future!
A nice, cozy cabin on a great lake. Probably would not want more than eight people, six was perfect. Beautiful setting, nice amenities and conveniences. If you take kids, they will love the sandy bottom swimming with a gradual slope. If you bring a boat you will like the good launch on the property. Plenty of tourist stuff in the area if inclined. Christine, the host, is very nice, friendly, and helpful. You won't regret this one.
Perfect spot to get away and relax. Bass Lake is big enough to be interesting, but not so big that it is busy. We enjoyed canoeing the lake, swimming, and sitting on the nice dock. Ate all our meals outside at the picnic table with a great view of the lake. The cottage has that "up north" feel. Nice biking and walking in the area surrounding it. Rented a motor boat one day to cruise the chain of lakes, but then grateful to return to our quiet lake. Would definitely choose this spot again.
Had a great week in Eagle River. It's a beautiful spot, nice and cozy for our small family. Took advantage of the canoe for a trip around the lake, grilled out, sat and read on the patio, even saw a bald eagle.
We had a great time during our week on Bass Lake. The property was very nice and offered a lot of space for my two young boys to run around and also spend time in the water. We were greeted by a family of otters one day and many eagle and look encounters. We brought our own 4 hp motor for the aluminum fishing boat that is provided. Caught a few bass and northerns on the lake as well as dozens of pan fish off the dock. All in all it was a nice relaxing week. We will be booking again!
Great place to stay. The Listing should separate two properties
The cabin was great. However, the windows, and outside patio, steps to the lake were filled with needles, cobwebs, etc... The listing is confusing as we discovered it shows 2 different cabins so upon arrival didn't look exactly like expected. The kitchen was very well equipped for all one would need. There were no instructions as to how to work the t.v. the remote did not respond. The binder provided could be updated. Many local restaurants listed no longer exist. The view is wonderful. Thank you for a great place to stay in the northwoods!
Chris, the owner was very easy to work with and responded to all of our questions. The cabin was very nice, very clean, on a beautiful lake. A very quiet and peaceful place to come and unwind.
Cabin on the lake met all of our expectations! Beautiful lake, perfect for canoeing and rowboating. Pier was great for sitting and enjoying a morning coffee and reading. Kids caught plenty of fish right off the pier. We brought tubes and floated in the lake, sandy bottom was nice for swimming, water was warmer than expected. Firepit was fun to sit around and make s'mores and popcorn. Stargazing on clear nights was amazing, we even saw the milky way! Loved listening to the call of the loons. Saw a number of eagles right on the property. Cabin had all the essentials we needed. Definitely met our needs for a relaxing trip away from home.
We had 3 adults and 3 kids stay in one house and my parents stayed in the other house on the property. This was a very convenient set up. The property is quite large with trees and space to play sports or fly a kite. The kitchen in the main house is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. We swam in the lake and fished from the boat provided. You can run or walk around the whole lake (about 4.5 miles) or hike in the nearby woods. Prepare for lots of mosquitoes while hiking!

Wonderful stay at the Craig's Cabin!
Our family just got back from a very relaxing, peaceful getaway at the Craig's cabin on Bass Lake. The weather was perfect as the kids were able to swim and be outside a ton! The cabin was perfect for our family of 6. We brought our own towels and bedding, which made the departure much easier. We are hoping to make it back again!

Great Location!
We have stayed on many lakes in Northern Wisconsin but this Bass Lake cottage will now be a favorite. Great Location, only a few miles from Eagle River yet it felt secluded. Saw lots of wildlife in just 3 days, deer, otters, loons and eagles! We had beautiful fall weather, cool nights but we had lovely fires on the back patio and did need the heat on in the cottage one night. The pier and shoreline were clear, clean and sandy, would be perfect for a swim on a hot summer day. The cottage itself was very comfortable, nice kitchen and living room. Chris the owner was very responsive and accommodating. Great trip, hope to return again

Excellent vacation spot
This was our first time vacationing in Eagle River and we had the best week ever. The weather was nice and the fish were biting off the dock and we took the boat out and caught some fish from the middle of Bass Lake for supper one night.
The cabin location was far enough you felt out in the woods and close enough to drive to town for some groceries or take a walk down to the shops.
We have two boys ages 8 and 13 and they never once said they were bored while we were here. We swam every day in the lake and the water was crystal clear off the dock.
The cabin had all the items we needed for cooking and more, as we ate every meal at the cabin.
While here we seen eagles in the trees above us, otters swimming by, and daily visits from ten baby loons close to shore.
Thank you Chris, and we hope to be back next August!

Great Family Getaway
Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying in this cabin! The lake was clear, swimming was great and the cabin was in excellent condition. It is close to town & many fine restaurants. It was nice that there was enough room for six people. Also, even though we didn't use the extra cabin, a nice extra feature.

Great vacation spot!
This was the second summer we stayed here. Once again it was perfect. The cabins have everything needed. Bass Lake is clear and perfect! We were able to swim right from the shore and pier. I caught a 25" Walleye one evening on our boat, and the kids caught small fish from the pier every night. We brought our own towels and sheets so that we could grab and go on the last day. Thank you Chris for sharing your great cabin!

Wow a 25" Walleye!!!!:) Our Lake was known for Walleye and Bluegill(Sunfish) and we have a large population of Northern Pike. So glad to have you back again, we look forward to your family returning again next year. We are very happy more cherished family memories were made at our Little Piece of Heaven.

We had a great time staying at this lovely home. We also rented the cottage behind this house for our daughter's family and that one was nice too. The house has many amenities you need, including A/C which was especially nice as it got hot when we were there. The lake is awesome, water very clear and sand bottom. We heard the loons every night and enjoyed a bonfire most nights. My husband and son got fish every day, Northern, Croppies, Bass, and Sunfish and I even caught a Northern!! I would definitely recommend this place.

Had the perfect family vacation!
We had a great time on our family vacation which included our 2 children, 2 nephews, 1 niece, and 6 other family members. We rented both cabins which offered plenty of sleeping space. The cabins were very clean and had stocked kitchens. The grounds were left natural. The lake is clear with hard sand bottom frontage. It is shallow for the little kids and doesn't get deep until the end of the pier. There are lots of small pan fish in this lake which kept the kids busy for hours every day. The lake has low traffic and the atmosphere is really quiet. We were probably the loudest people on the lake. The owners were very good at communicating with us. We plan to visit again next year. We plan to bring our own linens and tuck away the linens left for cabin use to make check out faster/easier with kids. I would recommend a stay here!

About the host
Hosted by Chris Craig
We are a family of 6 who have extended family in this area and we just love the North Woods. We fell in love with this beautiful spring fed lake and looked for a home for a long time before this one became available.
Why they chose this property
Our family purchased these properties because of the breathtaking view of the lake, the hard sand, gradual drop off, lake frontage and the excellent fishing from the piers. We intend to build our retirement home here due to its gradual slope to the lake.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin sleeps 6 - you can invite another family to join you to stay at the property by booking the second cabin. We fell in love with this cabin due to the breathtaking views of the lake and the amazing sunrises. We watch an eagle family fish from our shoreline and fishing off our pier is fantastic.
