Near snowsled / ATV trail (ITS 88)
Newly renovated home - Colby Siding, Maine
Whether you're in Aroostook County for snowsledding, ATV recreation, summer fairs, hiking, canoeing, or any other reason, this location is an excellent place to stay. You won't believe the number of stars in the night sky!!
The home rests on a one-acre lot in an older country community that was formerly a railroad siding. Surrounded by farm lands, it is a delightful area to wake up in. We have plenty of space to park snowsled or ATV trailers and head right out to the trail from here. After a full day out, come back and soak in the 16" deep soaking tub.
This home is newly renovated on the first floor (2023) and still undergoing renovations outside and on the second floor, where there are 2 bedrooms. For now, we set up the living room as a hotel-style bedroom with 2 full-size beds (see photos), and set up the dining room as a cozy living room. There is a quaint breakfast nook in the full kitchen for mealtimes.
One bedroom upstairs is fully renovated and useable, with a queen-sized bed, dresser, bedside table, and small closet. There is also a twin bed in the room. The other is 90% renovated but useable, with a full-sized bed, dresser & nightstand.

Thank you so very much for your kind review. We love to have you return year after year!
My dad was on the railroad and mentioned Colby siding. The house motif is railroad. I loved it!! It was located in the perfect location to visit all our family. Everything was perfect!
Settling in after a long drive was easy because everything about the house was explained, labeled and well supplied.
Being near RT 161 makes it easy to find, and come and go for activities. The interior finishes are well done and we look forward to seeing the new exterior siding job completed.
The new mattress in the first floor BR was comfy, the hot water supply was good and the 12 cup coffee maker complete with filters on site made just enough for three guests to have two cups.

Thank you for your kind words. We welcome you back any time!
Peaceful, relaxing, rural country home. I was traveling alone when I stayed here. I am familiar with the area as I used to live just down the road. The home is very comfortable, quiet and clean. The interior is all brand new. The beds were so comfortable. Even the pillows were just right. I slept very well. I enjoyed my morning coffee while watching the neighbors free range chickens scratch around in the front yard. Very entertaining. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They were quick to respond and offer help. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my family and friends.
