This is a Classic “Pines Cottage” in the ocean block of Rehoboth Beach near the Boardwalk.

The Oak Cottage and next door sister, The Pines Cottage, may be rented together.

The Oak Cottage is only 6 doors to the life-guarded beach and can accommodate 10 guests in 4 bedrooms. This 1926 historic cottage and back guest cottage have been remodeled and redecorated to provide modern comfort in a charming setting. The darling Main Cottage has 3 Bedrooms and 2 Full Bathrooms and the Guest Cottage has 1 large Bedroom and 1 Full Bathroom.

Bedroom 1 has one Queen bed with Beach Bungalow linens and Bedroom 2 has one Queen bed with Laura Ashley linens. These 2 bedrooms share a private full bathroom with a tiled shower and vanity.

Bedroom 3 is the Primary Bedroom with one Queen bed, Ralph Lauren linens and lamps, a TV and a private full bathroom with a shower.

Bedroom 4 is in the separate, delightful, Guest Cottage that has two Full beds with beautiful bedspreads, matching curtains, and a TV. The full bathroom has a tiled shower, an antique ball and claw soaking tub, a vanity with a gorgeous vessel sink and a private water closet. The Guest Cottage coffee bar has a granite island, decorator sink, coffee maker, microwave, and under-counter refrigerator.

The Main Cottage Living Room and Dining Room are open concept with a decorative fireplace and designer fabrics. There is a nice collection of books in the built-in cupboards.

The Kitchen has been completely remodeled and is fully equipped with new Fisher and Paykel appliances, granite countertops, lighting, lovely "Pistoulet" dishes, glasses, barware, Lenox flatware, cookware, Keurig and traditional coffee makers, pantry cabinet and more.

The Screened Porch is one of the larger porches in Rehoboth Beach and wraps two sides of the cottage. Handsomely furnished for relaxation, it has plenty of comfortable wicker and wrought iron seating, decorator fabrics and a large TV. The Porch Dining Table seats 6 and there is an additional table that seats 4 for dining, playing games and putting puzzles together.

Guests will enjoy having a new stacked washer and dryer.

The Deck leads from the Kitchen to a large furnished Patio with a dining table and 4 chairs, 2 benches, 2 Adirondack chairs and cocktail tables. Grill steaks on the Charcoal Grill in a private garden setting that is illuminated at night by landscape lighting.

The double size, outdoor shower has 2 shower heads with hot and cold water.

Situated on two and a half lots (100' x 122'), the fenced yard is huge.

The Main Cottage and the Guest Cottage have central heating and air conditioning. The Main Cottage has real hardwood flooring and the Guest Cottage has tile flooring.

The Oak Cottage sleeps 10 guests. Rentals are available for as few as 3 nights in the Spring and Fall and by the week in the Summer, Friday to Friday, with Check-in at 4:00 pm and Check-out at 10:00 am. There is off street parking for 2 cars and 2 seasonal parking permits are provided for on street parking for rentals between mid-May and mid-September.

Kitchen Tea Towels, Bedspreads, Pillows, Pillow Protectors, Mattress Pads and Mattress Protectors are provided. Guests bring their own Sheets, Bath Towels and Beach Towels or may rent linens locally.

Beach Chairs and Umbrellas can be rented on the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Supplies provided ~ Starter rolls of Paper Towels, 1 roll of Toilet Paper in each Bathroom and 1 set of Trash/Recycling Bags. Laundry Detergent, Glass Top Range Cleaner, Dish Washing Liquid, Dishwasher Detergent, Brillo, Windex, 1 Sponge, Cleaning Products, Hand Soap in each Bathroom, Charcoal, Lighter Fluid, Grill Utensils, Broom, Dustpan, Mop, and Bucket and provided for the entire vacation.

Wonderful Home!!

We have the most wonderful time at this home! The location is perfect. So close to the beach and a leisurely walk/bike to the boardwalk. The house is comfortable and perfectly appointed. We hope to go again next year.

My extended family and I visited for a long weekend. The two cottages worked perfectly. Very pretty decor and nicely stocked. About a 15 minute walk into town. Beach access is very close. Quiet, beautiful neighborhood. The homeowner was easy to contact with questions. Great stay!

‘Our blue house’

That is what our 7 year old granddaughter calls this charming cottage. We have been coming here with our family since she was a baby. Great location, beautifully maintained cottage, very responsive owner. Nuff said?!

Can’t go wrong!

The property was just as it appears in the listing. Fantastic location so close to the beach and bike riding. An awesome porch; great gathering space for reading a book, having a chat, playing cards, or enjoying a meal. The separate smaller cottage was a huge bonus space! And Debra was a wonderful host. We appreciated the book she put together with useful information on Rehoboth.

Wonderful, charming beach getaway

This a true beach cottage with great access to the beach. Pristine property, and well-stocked with supplies and necessities. This was a great getaway with our almost two year old, which was perfectly setup for multiple adults and a young child to spread out. The guest house was fantastic. Sitting outside and hearing the ocean could not be beat. Debra is a great host and provided excellent recommendations. We are already looking at a time to return. It was a fantastic getaway.

Exceeded all expectations

We had a family vacation over Memorial Weekend this year. We are a family of eight adults and two grandsons. This house was large enough to accommodate all of us and the way the home is set up there is plenty of privacy. The screened in porch wraps around three-quarters of the house and we spent every night there, either watching TV, playing cards or just talking. Debra has decorated the house to feel welcoming and comfortable to all. She greeted us when we arrived and by the time we left, we felt like we had made a new friend. There was one hiccup in our stay, but Debra addressed it immediately and all was good. Also can't say enough about the cottage (fourth bedroom). Once again, decorated beautifully and so private! The house is also a short walk to everything in Rehoboth and the beach. Thanks again, Debra for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be returning again.

The porch that makes a rainy day seem like heaven.

Wonderful house with separate cottage in the back. Five houses from the beach on a quiet street, makes it a perfect location. It would be a great place for a large family or group of friends. There is a cottage in the back that could be stand alone, complete with small refrigerator, microwave, two queen beds and a luxurious master bath with indoor and outdoor showers. Our favorite part of the main house was the screened in porch complete with comfortable couch, slide rockers, lamps for evenings and a large dining table. We had a few rainy days so spent some time reading and hanging out in this comfortable space. The kitchen is small but well equipped and met our needs for several meals we cooked. The house was newly renovated but the owner did a fabulous job of keeping the character of the old Rehoboth style beach house, which we love. Everything was clean and all appliances were new. The owner Debra was very helpful and responded promptly when called. I highly recommend this rental.

Lovely cottage!

I stayed here with a group of high school friends for 4 nights and then with family for 7 nights. There were 17 different people over the course of the 11 days (never more than 9 at any one time) and the age range was 30-97. Everyone loved the house! The porch is huge and there are numerous different seating areas. The interior of the house is charming, but I was very glad that we were able to use the porch during the times that there were 8-9 people staying. I think socializing inside the house with more than 6-7 people would be crowded....and there is only seating for four people at a table inside. While the house "sleeps 10", 3 of the beds are double beds which meant for both of the groups I was with, there were only beds for 7. There is plenty of room for an aero bed in the guest cottage, but there were 4 nights where the 9th person slept on an aero bed in the living room. This might not be a problem if there are several couples or children who are willing to share a double bed. The Pines neighborhood is lovely and the location of this cottage is ideal....very short walk to the boardwalk and the beach. Everyone who stayed said they would like to return to this cottage.

Joyful cottage,quiet wooded lot, close to beach

A series of very fortunate events brought us to this joyful cottage. The design of the cottage is comfortable and beautiful. The beach is delightfully close! It’s my favorite place I have ever taken my family in the 26 years we have been going to the Delmarva beaches. The beach is guarded during the weekdays, chairs and umbrellas can be rented on the beach itself with “beach boys” who for tips will plant your rented umbrella in the sand and bring the rented chairs to your designated spot and pick them up again st 5:00. The cottage is pleasantly walking distance to shopping and restaurants such as the Dinah Lingo grocery with stunningly delicious pastries at 7 am made on site. The charming cottage is located in a wooded neighborhood known as “The Pines” uniquely insulated from noise and heavy traffic, with the neighborhood character of children playing outside and neighbors playing cards on their porches, and by twilight everyone settled down quietly. I spent a truly magical couple of hours listening to calming night sounds and whispering trees in a hammock in the beautiful yard that had at least 20 small trees and a multitude of hydrangeas and carefully tended annuals. The cottage itself is a joyfully beautiful, clean, visually lovely early twentieth century renovated space that not only communicates visual beauty but speaks also of precisely designed spaces for utility and careful thought for how a family uses a space. It worked perfectly for 4 of us. The private space for the commode allows much freer access to the sink, shower and separate tub This joyfully functional bathroom space can be accessed through a back door just steps away from the outdoor showers used for sand removaI. I loved the way this generously sized bathroom space looked and the way it worked! By not having toilet use stop all other bathroom use, the return from the beach clean up process was very fast as my three children could come in after using the outdoor showers and quickly finish in whatever way they needed. Sharing space was easy and efficient. The kitchenette area, while not having a stove, is a wonderfully useful design for making beach picnics. The refrigerator under the counter was plenty of room for us because the grocery store was a pleasant walk of about 8 blocks away. We could get what we needed very easily daily. The owner was pleasant and helpful. We had a wonderful time!I can’t wait to go back!

Great stay!

Our family had a great stay at Oak Cottage. We’ve been coming to Rehoboth for many years and love being a few blocks from town and very close to the beach. Oak cottage was very charming and beautifully decorated. We loved the screened porch! Great spot for morning coffee and afternoon naps and looking at the beautiful hydrangeas. There was a lovely space outside for a big family dinners. And the small guest cottage gave adult children their own space. Wonderful stay!

Even the baseboards were sparkling white! It’s a rare rental that looks better in person than the ad. In addition, we were just five houses from the beach and that alone is worth every penny. Clean, welcoming and location-perfect!

We've vacationed in Rehoboth for 12 years, always staying at a local boutique spa/hotel. We decided to do something different and try a beach VRBO. We utilize VRBO's in other areas of the country a couple of times per year. This is hands-down the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. The appliances are high end and both lovely and functional; the kitchen is stocked with cooking/serving supplies you might have forgotten, and the decor is quaint and coastal. The location? Fantastic. You are steps away from the beach and very close to the end of the boardwalk. Everything you need (including Starbucks) is in walking distance. The owner was so pleasant, welcoming and only a text away. We are already looking at dates to return to the Pines. There is nothing like a home with character. Thanks to the owner, for sharing such a special place with others.

Just what we were looking for

We were very fortunate to rent The Pines. It is your dream Rehoboth cottage. Wide wrap around porch, well equipped kitchen, and comfy furniture. The yard is beautifully planted, the proximity to the beach allowed for casual strolls after dinner. Quiet and peaceful, yet walking distance to the downtown restaurants…I hope to return many times.

Wonderful Stay

Our multi-generational family vacation was a success thanks to Debra and our stay at The Pines. The location is fantastic and the home is well appointed. We took full advantage of the screened in porch, the new kitchen appliances, the outdoor shower, the large yard, and the location (obviously). Being a quick walk to the beach, boardwalk, and brand new playground around the corner meant we didn't have to load up the car to go anywhere. This is one of the only houses that isn't fully renovated, which I loved. It has great character and we felt right at home. Thank you for a terrific stay, Debra!

Amazing location, adorable beach cottage and guest house!

We enjoyed a 4 nights at Oak Cottage. The house was in the perfect location - on the beach block. We enjoyed being close to town and also the bike bath to cape henlopen. We even biked into Lewes for lunch. The house is clean and very cozy, with beautiful and thoughtful decorations. There are new appliances and cooking supplies - we even baked blondies in the new oven. the guest house is adorable and newly renovated - my sister in law and niece stayed there and had some privacy from the rest of us. We can't wait to come back - we love Rehoboth in the off season - lots is still open but it is much quieter.

2021 Vacation

Terrific cottage with places to sit and relax both inside and outside. Very close to the beach, bike path, boardwalk, shops and restaurants- all in walking distance which is critical as parking is difficult in town. It was a great experience to share with family!

Oak Avenue escape

Great house and cottage, steps from the beach. The wrap around, screened porch provided lots of space for adults and teens to spread out. Well equipped kitchen. Debra, the owner was very responsive. We had a great stay.

I was born and raised in fabulous Sussex County and spent my summers 'at the beach' in my grandparents' cottage on Hickman Street, where my brother still summers. We rode our bikes on the Boardwalk in the mornings. Mommie packed us lunch and took us to the beach every afternoon. We swam, hunted for shells, sunned, read, napped under the umbrella and returned happily, 'brown as berries' (sometimes, red as lobsters). My brother was genius at skim boarding. We showered off the day outside in the Sand Shower. Daddy always had croquet set up for a nice game before dinner. Evenings were spent on The Boardwalk at Funland, eating Dollies' popcorn, ice cream or chocolates at Candy Kitchen. When we were teens, there was volleyball under the lights on the beach. When my own 4 children were young, I wanted them to share the Rehoboth Beach experience. I had the great, good fortune to buy a wonderful home on Pennsylvania Avenue. Later, the Oak Cottage was purchased and lovingly renovated and refurnished. Ralph Lauren bedspreads, beautiful Pistoulet dishes, original watercolor art, central air-conditioning and a huge porch on which your entire family can stretch out, relax, dine, snooze, read, play games, make the Oak Cottage a home I can share with others looking for a classic, family beach vacation. Now, upon the retirement of next door friends, I was able to purchase the 20 Oak Avenue "Pines Cottage" and have given it the same care in renovating this charming cottage treasure to share with my guests. I've successfully retained the old charm but, with modern updates and appeal. The kitchen has new Cafe appliances and granite counter tops. New hardwood flooring was installed in the 2nd floor while the original 1st floor hardwood was refinished. The back Guest Cottage has been fully renovated in 2021. Come enjoy the relaxing spaces created in this 1925 classic "Oak Cottage." Larger families may rent side by side 16 and 20 Oak Avenue together.

You will love this cottage because it is not the Four Seasons Hotel. It is an old style, comfy, charming, classic beach cottage. You will live on the porch. Everyone does. It's fabulous. The yard is large and private. You are not jammed up against the neighbor's house. Plenty of room to play. I always wanted my children to get away from the TV, video games and "go be kids." Yours will be free from the entertainment world and go explore. You will unwind and relax. All that said, there is central air so no noisy window units humming all night. There are TVs in Guest Cottage, the Master Bedroom and the Porch for times you feel like watching a movie or checking out the news ~ try not to do it. You will have a nice partly sunny, partly shaded yard and a cool, screened porch on which to enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon cocktail and dinner. BBQ some Delmarvalous chicken or steam up those Blue Crabs. We have such delicious local produce and seafood. Or, take yourself out to one of the many local restaurants - Seafood, Sushi, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Pizza, and even British cuisine. This is the most idyllic beach town ever, with all the memories of your childhood and everything you want within your reach.
