Grand Bear Den was absolutely an incredible place to stay!! Beautiful place, amazing views, outstanding kitchen, and great location for easy access to Seward and activities. All the special touches from all the ingredients to make s'mores over the incredible fire pit with a view, to the lovely basket for gathering goods from the garden, to the refreshments made available to us, as the guests, made the stay so very special!! Would stay there over and over again!
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Meg and Nico are delightful hosts. The house did advertise three bathrooms but there’s one full bath and 1/2 bath so must be sure you are comfortable sharing a shower with others in your group. Also it is a good idea to have eye masks to sleep due to the long lhours of daylight in Alaska. (one bedroom is in the loft). We spent much of our time, enjoying the house, sauna, fire pit, and taking in the amazing view.s:) We would definitely return to enjoy this beautiful place.
Beautiful off grid home in Seward! Meg and family were great hosts! View and beautiful construction of home simply spectacular. Great base for exploring Seward area, also great if seeking solitude. Will stay again.
If your dates are available, stay here! Stunning home with lovely touches throughout. The view alone is worth the 5 star review. The heat lamps on the deck provide extra warmth if needed. The hosts were over the top generous and accommodating. I wish we could have stayed longer.
The home was beautiful with amazing views. It was clean, extremely comfortable, and the hosts even provided fresh coffee. The loft sleeping area was great for kids and they loved the views and the reading nook. The master bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The views were stunning from every room, and the covered deck area was really wonderful on a couple of rainy Alaska days. The location is also very convenient. It's just a couple minute drive to the harbor. We'll stay there again if we can get back to Seward.
This is a special home! If you love architecture, post and beam construction, grand, open concept great room and kitchen with professional Vulcan range. There are two large decks overlooking (likely) the best view in all of Seward. Unobstructed views of Big Marathon, Race point, Little Bear, Big Bear, The Foundry, & Callisto. The view continues through some seemingly perfectly placed spruce trees down Resurection Bay to the various Islands. To the left side the view picks up even more mountains, you could literally just stare at the view day after day it never gets old. Meg and her family live on site and are very kind and responsive. If you are looking for a high quality home with breathtaking views this is the place!!! oh and the master bath shower is exquisite…
